way damned nice looking place!!!!!!! real damned nice indeed!!!!!!!!!!!!! you're gonna be busy now and i'm so glad for you justin! thanks for sharing a look at your nice place!!!!!!!!!!
I applaud your resolve to simplify !! I always looked forward to your videos and will surely enjoy any "Homesteading" videos that you feel the urge to share !
Welcome back. I referred a customer to you the other month for some leatherwork. I don't ship my gear overseas from Australia. Are you still making leathergoods? Please keep up the updates on the homesteading. I have been on my new property for 2.5 years and still putting in raised garden beds, wicking beds, etc. But our seasons are reversed, it is spring here, so seedling planting in the day and making knife sheaths and archery gear at night. And where you hunt deer, I prowl the shallows at the beach with a light spinning rod for whiting and flathead.
Hey Justin!!!!! Great to see you!! I think may miss that point of "quieting or lives"...Great Point!! Homesteading is an area that can help those with spacious property, and those with small backyards..yet want to be as self reliant as they can be in their little part of the world. Congrats on getting this piece of land..your piece of heaven on earth!
Off topic.... I just want to Thank You for all your How To videos on leather crafting. They opened a whole new door for me, as a disabled person, I needed something to keep my hands and brain busy..seems I have a talent for it( according to people who want stuff made) so Thank You and Best Wishes for you and your family.
I stopped making videos when I was buying my condo and moving. life before videos. I do enjoy watching your videos brother. Property looks great too. Thanks for the vid.
Glad to see you again. I have been doing much the same. I think it's wise to step back once in a while to let things get quite. It's easy to let things kind of snowball. Actually, I haven't been on Facebook for almost a year and I don't miss it. Your land looks great. That's something you'll really enjoy. I would love to have acreage to be able to hike and hunt right out the back door. Congratulations. Very best wishes to you and your family. Also, Just want to say thanks for sharing the savvy over the years.
Welcome back! Congratulations on getting a nice piece of property and getting out of the city. Being able to slow down and enjoy is priceless and great for the health of the mind.
HA! I actually envy you lower 48er's and your "I have 52 out buildings" and your old farm stead/new homestead properties. Looks great man, you're gonna have loads of fun! Good to see you back Justin. I don't envy your poison ivy lol!
Great to see you back! You did not say, are you still doing leathercraft? I really enjoyed seeing your leather projects. I bought one of your two-piece axe mounting systems for a backpack. I love it. Please do not get too quiet.
The whole owl pellets and assembling the skeletons we did that in elementry school when i was a kid fun stuff. Hope you find a good one with all the bones for a full contruction.
Good for you Justin and congratulations on your BIG move. I can't imagine the stress to make such a move and change jobs ? to boot. We only moved from small town of 10,000 to the country, we said to raise the boys, but partly because of my PTS also (Combat Vet ) over 40 years ago. I never got caught up again :-) I wasn't long in putting hand pumps in a couple shallow wells after pumping them out several times after bleach treatment. Putting in wood stove. We went many times for days without electricity . No electric no deep well water. No way out through deep snows of 1970's-'80's. I had chains on all 4 tires to get to work a lot. Raised big garden and had never had one in my life. Sure tastes different than canned green beans ! I ended up growing about everything in the Joy of Gardening book that came with my new Troy-built horse tiller ( 30 yrs. ago ) . I started out with old front end tillers, from sales. I wish you the best and would love to hear your move story, some day. Vic Made my comment about , didn't think you had always lived there, before finding this video.
Dear mr wolf.total respect.quiet thy mind should be a mantra taught to school kids! When we stop the chatter in our heads and experience 'nature' we are where its at.nuff said !!
Good to hear your ok I also wonder what happened to you. Looks like your living the life. God bless can't wait to see those Homestead projects and hope you share them with us.
Glad to hear your healthy Justin and well . We all have missed you . And miss being able to purchase your leather too ! Be well and enjoy life it only comes around once . Your friend from the Great White North !
Hi Justin and congratulations ! Unless I missed it you have not made a video telling about your move from the city of ?? to Kansas. I think it would be a big hit with all your subscribers. That is if it is not more personal than you would like ? I truly hope the last year has worked out well for the wife , you and your daughter, Vic
Wow..ty for the update... been missing you videos...I will point out that even though there are a lot of skilled people making survival videos...it's your personality that keeps me looking for your content. You don't got to do one every day...or stop enjoying your life and family..but it great to see your content again. An some people are not able to go out and do it them selves..so they kind of live the experience through you...great to see you. Have a good one!
WOW the American dream, you Sir should be proud of what you have done. All the knives you've had in your hands and what doesn't surprise me is that Gerber Prodigy strapped to your shoulder strap.... IMHO its one of the best all around utility survival knives you can own. $45 is a great deal. I ended up switching to the Strongarm and sold my Prodigy😑 Yep its time to buy another, the Strongarm is great but the Prodigy is more comfortable. Good to see you "living".
It is good to see all is well And you have made a positive change for your family I will admit I really miss your leather work I have sense started doing blacksmith and leather work myself My wife and I talk and we ask each other What is it all about and why do we continue to do what we doing We also are looking to make a change So for now carry on GODSPEED Edward
NOW you're talkin like the Justin I first watched! You seem more at peace. Noticed the "stressnes" (my term) was starting to show. BEEAAUUTIFUL property bud!!!! Look forward to your vids when you occasional post. I'll bet you're STILL backlogged on custom work! Shows to the quality of craftsmanship. Now you can really start living. Congrats bigtime!
Take the time for you and yours! It's way too easy to go down the rabbit hole with tech and a hectic life and everyone would be sooooo much better off removing a lot of the noise of the 21st century. Be safe and have a life well lived!
Man I am glad your back brother !! I sure hope everybody's ok ! Ill Be here ! Miss ya brother ! Explosion !yup for sure ! Good you got out there heather and kaylee must love it . Anything I can help with brother !just ask ill be catching up take care brother
Good to see you back... It looks like you have your work cut out for you. Much of my youth was spent on a 167 acre farm. We had 500 chickens, ducks, goats , pigs, sheep, a few cattle , ponies for us kids and horses for the adults. Our neighbor had 500 acres and a daughter my age. During the summer we lived in the woods. Connie and I ran around in the woods buck naked all summer unless we were having non family company. When my 3rd cousins Judy and Arnold came over they too stripped down and disappeared into the woods with us. If it got hot or the bugs got bad we just smeared ourselves with mud. Our favorite things to do were go skinny dipping in our waterhole and ride our ponies. Mom had an old-fashioned triangle and Connie's mom had a church bell to call us with. When dad got sick mom had to sell the farm and move us to Cincinnati so we could be near dad in the hospital. However, she knew how much I loved the woods so every summer she would let me and my cousin Judy go visit her sister and her husband on their 1500 acre woodland in the mountains of KY. Aunt Verni and Uncle Bill had 13 kids including a set of twins our age . (Actually all their kids were either twins or triplets. ) We would strip down and disappear in the woods for a couple of weeks living off the land. Later as we grew up Judy and I still continued our adventures until college. I went off to seminary and she became a teacher. I still live next to the woods and dissappear there with my grandkids whenever I can. There is no better gift you can give you kids than raising them in the woods and teaching them farming. About the only store we visited growing up was the hardware store. Most of the bushcraft channels have become gear channels. They open the box and show us a toy never knowing how it will perform in the field. Maybe showing kids where food really comes from.... People are trying to make a living off CZcams rather than just sharing knowledge. . So it is really a nice change when you can take us on a walk or have a campfire chat. Kids and people in general need to know it is not the gear that makes the woodsman it is the skill and attitude.
White Oak Outdoors I hear this a lot from you tubers a lot. The putting out video content starts getting longer than the actual video. Then you start spending more time on editing videos than doing your own thing. So if that's where you are you definitely should rethink it. I have been quieting myself. I got off the Fascistbook and tweeker trains(yes misspelled on purpose) I need to ghleen my CZcams subscriptions and have sytarted more Instagram since it's not so divisive. Post a picture and walk away.
Good to see you back Justin, same reason why I quit facebook a year ago and I don't regret it. Enjoy your new property and gained freedom! Cheers, Marc
Great seeing you, and the new video! I'm glad you have moved to the country, so your family can enjoy the outdoors. Hope you have a good hunt with your daughter! Thanks for having shared your quality style of leather work, and equipment! Enjoy your family!
Great to see you again Justin! I enjoy just sitting at the fire pit and letting the burden go now and then. Where will you be doing your leather work? Outbuilding or house? Hope to see you again, and understand why you have backed up and mellowed down!
So happy you got your own property I'm in the same phase In life I'm really wanting to buy my own and move out but the wife won't do it, so I'm stuck for a while, look forward to see your property and look forward to some videos,
Look, man, facebook and youtube are extra things. They're really not important in the long run. You have to take care of your family and yourself. You don't owe anyone any explanations. I enjoy the videos just like anyone but the everyday fellow trying things out. Please don't repeat what others are doing or have done. That's so boring. Do what you feel is right for you. :)
Sounds like you have your protein on lock, need to plant some greens and such pimpin. Don't get me wrong, I know the predator/carnivore mentality all too well, but grow you some shit ninja. I just planted my first garden this year, and let me tell ya, talk about rewarding.
Take the time for you and yours! It's way too easy to go down the rabbit hole with tech and a hectic life and everyone would be sooooo much better off removing a lot of the noise of the 21st century. Be safe and have a life well lived!
Nice video. That smaller coop is really nice and plenty big enough. Looks like a fun homestead. Enjoy
