  • Took the focus jam SL emtb for a shred in the Adelaide hills at eagle Mtb park. This is a rental bike from Ride Union bike co. Available for people in the Adelaide area to rent out!
    This bike is all about one thing and that is FUN. Poppy, playful and nimble are the words I’d use to describe this bike. The rear end provides an immense amount of support and feels highly efficient which in turn makes it gain speed when pumping down the trail and makes it jump stable and predictably. It’s also super easy to get off the ground compared to most e bikes I’ve ridden.
    The small bump felt top notch on loose rock and left me super impressed with insane corner grip.
    The short chainstay length makes changing direction much easier than any e bike I’ve ridden to date. Only 440mm
    Lastly the 60nm motor gave the focus Sam sl a more traditional mountain bike feel but didn’t feel underpowered in any situation on the trail, and due to the efficient suspension, climbed like a mountain goat on technical ascents. Also being lighter than most e mtb’s, it was easy to pedal over the motor limit of 25kmph.
    Overall this bike is all about having a good time which I definitely did have.
    Can’t wait for the next shred on it!

    Thanks for the video Did you try riding it without the battery ? If so was there any resistance from the motor ? Cheers

      I didn’t try it without the motor assistance until I was over 25kmph. It was one of the best e bikes I’ve ridden over 25 though, the resistance wasn’t massive from the motor.

      Thanks! The fork worked really well and was easy to set up. Was my first time riding dvo. Felt similar to a fox 36/lyrik.

      What did you think the 8.7 or the 8.8 ist the better value for the money?

    • @dstone2011
      @dstone2011  Před 5 měsíci +1

      @@realecke164 both are great value. I like Fox suspension the most so I personally would go for the 8.8. The 8.7 is what I rode in this video and it was great though.
