  • Writer's Analysis - How the Glitch and TADC Keep Winning!
    In a year plagued by poor theatrical turnout and streaming duds, one indie animated series continues to dominate and pave the way forward for a new generation of creators! This is the sensation sweeping every nation that mainstream media and even Hollywood critics will not talk about! Despite the fact that Glitch is still making more money than Disney at the end of the day and rivaling them plus all of Hollywood in terms of popularity, reach, fan interaction, and relevancy.
    Lars is here to break the whole thing down and expose what Hollywood does not want others to know!

    In simple term people are tired of remake and sequel that we want original content with relatable character not whatever hollywood is putting out nowadays

    • @camillesharem
      @camillesharem  Před měsícem

      Succinctly put, absolutely! The dumb thing is that even when Hollywood tries to make original content, they're so plagued by bad writing, bad vision, and bad marketing that a potentially great idea falls flat on its face from the get-go.

    Tbh glitch has mention before they want to target the young adults from the age 16 and over mostly because hollywood has forgotten a demographic of people that want to watch animation that isn't just full of 18+ humor

    • @camillesharem
      @camillesharem  Před měsícem +7

      I remember that interview, and it really impressed me. It shows in the quality and content of their series as well, where they don't mind being more mature but the humor is kept as a level where it doesn't have to be crude or rely on expletives to make the audience laugh. In fact, it's the kind of approach that often makes the viewer feel more intelligent and respected because they can keep up with the punchline without getting beaten over the head. Not to mention that they've been doing a great job at making characters that feel relatable to teens and young adults, rather than chasing whatever was last week's fad!

    Something to keep in mind in viewing counts. When I rewatched ep 2 I rewatched ep 1 first. Enough though I all ready watched it a few times. I doubt I was the only one who did that.

    • @camillesharem
      @camillesharem  Před měsícem +4

      Yes, the rewatches are a large part of the view count. But they are also the same for every streamer evaluating statistics. They want to show off just how many people have been watching and for how long. But it is very good to bear in mind for myself and anyone else tracking this that repeated views are definitely a thing, which would be hampered in a total one-to-one comparison with theatrical releases. hence the apples to oranges reference.
      Ultimately, it helps us track the show's profitability and comparison in audience interaction with other properties. I wish Glitch would share some of their own records, but I highly doubt that will ever happen!

    What would Walt Disney think? It would be such a shame to live to see your legacy fall to pieces in the hands of fools.
    At the very least, Walt himself will always be remembered for the best works of early Disney.
    But now it is the end of the age of Disney, and time of the new age of Glitch. Let animation make its return, and let the indie artists shine.

    • @camillesharem
      @camillesharem  Před měsícem +1

      Yes! I want to see animation make a comeback and have a new renaissance! And I hope all the best for Glitch, because I really do think that they're helping to pave the way for a better future in entertainment. Both through their employment of great animators and storytellers and the encouragement they give to others. It won't change things overnight, but what they're doing is having a powerful effect!
      Let animation return!

    11:42 The episode right after the pilot always gets the heaviest hit. A lot of people just watch the pilot don't vibe with it and don't continue. Also while I don't have the numbers I'm sure a part of the pilot's views were rewatches in preparation for ep 2. It's a pattern I noticed in Murder Drones and I won't be surprised if we notice it here to

    • @camillesharem
      @camillesharem  Před 28 dny

      Both episodes have certainly been boosted by numerous rewatches. So it's not like 100 million individuals all watched episode 2 only once. That's what NCIS and Friends are still some of the most watched stuff to date! It's more about tracking the interaction and relevancy. What will be telling is how the third episode does. Because if it also reaches 100 million views in a two month time frame then that solidifies that TADC has both mass appeal and rewatchability, which is excellent for the series' success.

    They have said the majority of their profit is merchandise. So if they make around half a million on views, the merch probably has made them over 5 million

    • @camillesharem
      @camillesharem  Před 26 dny

      It's possible. Here's where the math begins to get speculative. Because Glitch doesn't make their budgets public, we have to guess if they are going for anywhere between 300,000 dollars per episode production to 2 million dollars (the Hollywood standard for cartoon production). Granted, it could be even less because it's only with TADC that they've been able to rake in any large amounts of money!
      So, there is a possibility that when Luke and Kevin said that merch makes up 80% of their budget, that calculation could be pre-TADC, which would mean the numbers are way lower.
      But if we go with the way their profits and prospects ballooned with TADC at the beginning of 2024, then a base of 300,000 dollars from views being only 80% of their current budget, then they have sold 1.2 million dollars worth of merchandise! And this is super plausible. Divide by 30 (the plushie cost) and you get 40,000 items purchased. They EASILY cleared that! BUT! They do have to split the profits with their suppliers and shippers. So, it's more likely that the number of purchases are around 60,000 units sold. And still, that is very easily reachable for a company that is raking in hundreds of millions of views and most people buy more than one item from their store.
      The numbers are reasonable. And if they're making any extra thanks to views, that's money that can easily put towards their other shows, endeavors, and putting more money in the pockets of themselves and their people. Capitalism!
      But coming back to costs, there's a very good chance that the cost of each episode is below 300,000 dollars thanks to cheaper programs and reusable character designs. The price tag could be going up considering all their recent successes and the increase in quality. But I think there's a very good chance that the successes of TADC alone have made it possible for them to increase Murder Drones' quality, continue delivering on TADC, and deliver hard on The Gaslight District when it later premieres!
      Woohoo! The fun of economics.

    Actually, let’s wait. I wanna see these big companies approach glitch production, and try to buy them out just to get slapped with a big fat no, that’s how we will know that they truly have lost. Knowing that the studios are extremely desperate to the point, they will buy glitch productions to regain the audience that they lost . It’s great that glitch production succeed at their audience desires instead of a bigger company

    • @camillesharem
      @camillesharem  Před 29 dny

      Glitch's announcement today about partnering with Lackadaisy was HUGE! They're basically saying, "Because we're rolling dough, we're going to help other shows and production groups get off the ground!" Not by giving them a blank check or anything, but by allowing those shows to run their merch alongside Glitch's. That's big!
      And in contrast to a company like Disney, that is a big middle finger to Mickey Mouse.

    What If 20th Century Fox Keeps Winning And Glitch Productions Keeps Losing

    • @camillesharem
      @camillesharem  Před 9 dny +1

      Kinda hard to keep winning when the House of Mouse bought you out, sank over 70 billion dollars, trashed a bunch of productions, and then even changed the company's name to escape its legacy. Haha! That money isn't coming back until after a couple of decades of excellent business. And part of Deadpool & Wolverine's whole shtick is to pay homage to the ideas and stories that Disney scraped or left behind.
      True, at the end of the day, Disney and 20th Century are playing with hundreds of millions of dollars while Glitch is working with a few million. But when you dig deeper into the fan interaction, the viewership, the demographics, and media impact, Glitch is taking big Hollywood studios to task. If they could have the same popularity as what TADC and Murder Drones are enjoying, they would be rolling in massive profits from month to month.

    But I would like to hear it from you, where do you think RWBY should go to, to fully make it thrive?

    • @camillesharem
      @camillesharem  Před měsícem +1

      RWBY apparently already has a buyer. I think Glitch would do amazing things with RWBY, but the people who comprise CRWBY would likely never work with Glitch because their attitudes to their fans have been antithetical and diametrically opposed for years now. Glitch still loving their fans and CRWBY actively disregarding and launching smear campaigns against some of their fans all in the effort to push new canon material that derailed many things set up in Volumes 1-4.
      Personally, I think RWBY would thrive with Crunchyroll but they got taken down from the streaming platform which would indicate that whatever new deal is coming will not include Crunchyroll. Not first, at least. I am curious about what is happening behind the scenes, but I honestly have little faith that it is anything good.
      In some of the latest interviews with members of CRWBY you can tell that they are operating under a certain level of swarminess and smugness, as if they've just gotten away with something. RWBY hasn't been in a good place since the end of Volume 7 if we're going to be perfectly frank. And all signs point to nothing changing behind the scenes. Therefore, I have little hope for a good story to come out of RWBY whenever we get Volume 10.

    Other factor for why Hollywood and disney is digging up franchise that been around for decades and changing it for "modern audience" oh while mistreating or attacking there fanbase in the process this mentality is in my opinion why Hollywood and disney keeps failing they keep trying to pander to this "modern audience" that don't exist or don't care for this franchise so they change everything that what made people likes these franchise in the first place then attack there old fanbases in the process like there the problem this whole attacking the fan mentality has been going on since 2016 from ghostbuster 2016 ( which was the first example ) to now with star war acolyte in fact I would even argue this only got worst after 2016 because franchise that would seem unsinkable like star wars marvel doctor who lord of the rigs and other all had "modern audience" movies or shows which only damged these franchise as a brand forever oh while not attracting any new fans because they don't care about franchise like star wars doctor who and others and there old fans left in the process after they where told that this new take other there beloved all ready existence movie or show isn't for them so they refused to watch it after they where told that meanwhile with the amazing digital circus not only is it a new franchise which isn't even a year old yet the pilot somehow got 332 million views ( has of right now ) and has a postive reception and
    but manged to attract people of all backgrounds including gen z women people of color LGBT+ and so many other likes tadc Dispite not even trying its hardest to pander to that demographic yet somehow attract that audience in the process this could also implied to other indie animation series but the tadc is the biggest example also glitch and the crew of tadc never mistreated there audience because if they do that it would damged tadc reputation forever something that Hollywood and disney would never understand

      You bring up an excellent point, and I wondered whether I should have added that while I was writing the script. Disney leads Hollywood in taking PR black eyes. It's honestly pitiful to see unfold. There was drama around Glitch earlier this year when Anime America tried to smear them with old and possibly false allegations of toxic working environments and harassment. Glitch handled the matter very professionally and then moved on, which is something Disney could learn to do!
      Since it look like I'm committing myself to doing these financial reviews and analyses for each episode of TADC, I'll include that in a general overview for Glitch vs Hollywood by the end of the year. Respect for your fans and your potential audience is soooo critical! And it's not hard to do! But for some reason, Hollywood seems to feel it is above reproach and the need to to show that care and respect to their fans and audiences.

      @camillesharem yay I have to agree with you
      Also every time a franchise or series goes into a different direction that is usually to attract a audience that dont care for that specific series it all ways never a good sign it likely to ruined the franchise in the process like imaged if the amazing digital circus if one day glitch wanted the series to be more darker and edgy to pander to the helluva boss adult audience or if helluva boss but if vivziepop want helluva boss to be more kid friendly and tone down all of the edgy jokes to pander to the tadc kid audience and no not a one of thing or a april fools joke no a new direction that both fanbase would not like that would divide there fanbase forever and would lead to boycott and both series falling off forever
      That kind of like modern Hollywood in a nutshell but with indie animation version

Warhammer40k has been on the rise while Star Wars is on the decline the former might even surpass the latter.
