Hi! I’m Olivia-Savannah. I studied English Literature and Creative Writing at university, and work in publishing (Pan Macmillan, Tor). I’m based in London, the UK but I visit The Netherlands where some of my family live from time to time. I love reading, writing, travel, yoga and working out, cooking and baking. I enjoy reading all genres and age audiences. Nice to meet you x
Its always interesting to see what others think we might enjoy in terms of books
I find that fascinating too! Which is why I love trying recommendations 🥰
Wait I love this idea so much (and I love and you and Cara double feature!! Two of my faves at once ♥️♥️)
I love a good green tea, and I adore fruity teas, so that sounds delicious. I’m so glad it worked for you too. Shocked that Jason Reynolds is only middling for you here! I’ve only been blown out of the water by him previously, so it’s strange to hear that he doesn’t do his usual thing of swinging hard at big emotions and showing that through pointed characterization. The multifacetedness sounds true to his style, though. Perhaps it’s an earlier publication of Reynolds’s, so he hadn’t hit his stride yet?
Your nephew is SO CUTE 😭😭
I’m sorry this book wasn’t quite to your taste, but I did love this vlog/hearing your thoughts!
Cara is so wonderful! The tea is really delicious and I do recommend if you ever find a similar flavour. It was a shame about the book, but there could be many reasons why. I have read many a Reynolds I loved and I will continue to read more in future ^.^
What a great aunty you are!
That tea sounds fab
And yep, an ending can make or break a book
I am loving aunty life! Endings are so important 😇
This seems like the perfect book for you! The numbers on your calendar not being in order kills me 😭😭 I'm not a tea fan but if you started a tv show where all you did was review tea I'd watch it 😂😂 Not the lack of conclusions 😭😭
The calendar was like chronological order? We don’t know her 💁🏾♀️ Feeling honoured you’d watch my tv tasting show 🥹

💜💜💜
Great video idea! Sad you didn’t love this one. I read long way down by this author and remember enjoying it.
Yess I loved long way down too 😍
💛💛💛
💟💟
Great idea for a video. Shame you weren't a huge fan, but hopefully you still had fun making the vlog 😊
It was still a fun vlog to make, yes 🥰
Shame the book didn't work for you! That tea sounds lovely! 💜💜
The tea was definitely highlight 🫖
💚✨
💟💟
I used to drink green tea in the morning but now I drink only black tea in the morning so green tea no longer has a slot during the day :- D
I love how there are time slots and if you don't make the cut, you miss out 😄
I'm so curious about that tea because I always want to drink green tea but it's a bit too strong for me.
This could be a good alternative for you 🫖
I've definitely read books by authors that I loved and then another book by the same author that I couldn't even finish. Maybe the author was trying something new (good for him), or maybe he was rushed under a deadline and couldn't do a good job.
We all have a lot of range in ourselves and in our writing as well, so it makes sense that sometimes we love it and sometimes less so!
It’s annoying when books don’t tie up properly at the end. Great reading vlog as always. I read two books that I loved by Robbie Arnott and intensely disliked his third book Limberlost so I get that disappointment from a great author thing.
Sometimes it just happens! A shame the third book didn't hit like the other two, but 2/3 is a good score overall 😊
I'm still mad at Jason Reynolds for the atrocity that his Miles Morales. First time I've ever straight up returned a book after reading it (thanks Amazon 😅) lol maybe some day I'll get over it and try something else from him.
I have a lot of negative things about the miles morales book so that is definitely one I plan to avoid. So sorry you didn't like it at all 😔
@@OliviasCatastrophe I honestly don’t even remember much from it at this point, just remember the anger I felt at the time haha I’m pretty sure I did a pretty detailed review on Goodreads so I can look back on that if I’m ever more curious of the details
@@OliviasCatastrophe random side note, I’ve made a goal for myself this year to write a review for every book I read for that exact reason! I’ve had books I literally forgot I read but gave like 4 or 5 stars and I wish I knew why! Haha
@@OliviasCatastrophe but it’s all good, not every book will be a winner!
This was the reason I started reviewing as well 😇 wanting to remember why I liked or didn’t like something!
Jason Reynolds usually is such a good read, so too bad that one didn't work out for you. That really does happen, sometimes, though - I've been rereading a lot of Georgette Heyer recently, and she's super consistently good, but every once in a while she just has a book that doesn't work at all for me.
I'm still looking forward to reading more Reynold in the future, and will consider this one a blip. You're right, it does happen from time to time!
Yum tea. Book sounds a bit off for sure. I hate when secondary characters have no substance
I think you can tell how quality the main narratives and characters are from how much time the author has to spare for the secondary ones!
Shame the book didn't work as well as you'd hoped!
A shame, but onto the next!
unfortunate that this one wasn't as good as most of his other books
It hasn't deterred me from his other works though! So that's good at least 😊
This concept is so much fun! It's a pity that the book didn't work out for you this time around 🩵🩵
I can't wait to get to more of the recommendations 😇
