Youâre doing an amazing job and blessed to witness the progress! 1st grade teacher here and loving your vlogs! â€Little tip when laminating small pieces you can put a piece of double sided tape or glue to the back of the piece and then stick to the laminating sheet to prevent from moving around. đ I also use a ten frame to track the days of school. I just fill in each day with a dry erase marker during calendar time. đ Your room is coming along and loving the vibe! Excited for your next vlog! Keep up the great work!

I was trying to figure out how I will mark the days, I am also thinking about marking it with dry erase markers so I can reuse next year! Thank you soo much, I will be back with a new one by the end of next week my rugs are getting cleaned sooo now I'm in a waiting phase! đ
@@learnwithmsr I canât believe Iâll be starting my 24th school year and in first grade! The dry erase marker and the ten frame work so well. I just make a circle and fill in just like a regular counter would look like. Our first day of school is on July 29th and Iâll be going back to work in 2 weeks. Canât wait to set up my room! Your classroom is beautiful! Looking forward to future teaching vlogs especially with a kinder/first combo class. I've taught preschool through second and kinders are so needy. It will be interesting to see how a combo class works.

Don't stress yourself with having not enough on the walls. The most important in the classroom for your students is having you in there to teach them. Every other decor and material is an added bonus.

@@learnwithmsr You are very welcome! It is a realization I had recently, all the fun games and power points are great and helpful, but what if internet is shot down once? (Scary thought, I know). Made me shift focus a bit to my teacher personality and offline skills and materials

laminating hack for you for laminating small pieces without them moving. get a glue stick and put a little dot of glue on the back of the pieces you are laminating so it sticks to the lamination and won't move around while you are laminating. Love the classroom set up. Best of luck to you!

Your calendar begins with Monday. This is the Spanish way. All calendars in Spanish speaking countries begin with Monday. I am used to that system because I am Cuban, but in the US the fist day on a calendar for some reason is Sunday.
OOOO, I did not know the reason behind that!! I'm from Mexico so I'm wondering if thats why I like it that way HAHA the sunday first feels sooo wrong hahaha
@@learnwithmsr yea. I think for Spanish speakers it has to do with the days of the week according to the Bible, like the seventh day you rest, so Sunday.

also a teacher in socal, going into my 2nd year đđŒ i'm not sure if this is right, but I heard that fabric bulletins don't pass fire code and there is a requirement for decorations to be 24" below the ceiling from the fire marshall & maybe Williams Complaint? I'm not sure đ
Oooo. I'm going to have to figure out all this info... because if i have to take anything down I'm going to cry LOL... most of the teachers in other classrooms have similar bulletin boards so I'm hoping they're not too strict with that??
I put up some school girl style bulletin board paper the other day. My AP walked in and asked me if it was flame retardant. I checked with the company and it doesn't have a fire rating so I had to take it down đą thankfully I only put one roll up, but this set me back unexpectedly!

Don't worry about not having a lot on the wall. It can be calming to not have a ton of things on the wall. Also, you will want to leave a space to hang things once you begin working with kids. :)
