@@vixenxia2475 The planet could as well be the surface of the ARKS Mothership, which is a planet in itself (and from the quests you play inside in PSO2, completely technological on the surface). The biomes are so varied and close to each other because the whole continent the story is set on might have used to be a reserve for wildlife collected by the Oracle fleet, which also explains why PSO2 native species are present on Halpha. I hope we'll be getting some story to bridge the two games honestly, even if the main character isn't the Guardian but some random ass ARKS.

After listening to this again; the song, in my mind, seems to be our backstory. "I don't remember where, I don't remember how I fell." Something happened to ARKS that may have gotten us nearly killed. My theory is the story is going with either: A. Breath of the Wild backstory (Calamity befell ARKS and we nearly die fighting it) B. Shadow the Hedgehog backstory (AKA Casra was right; ARKS Civil War that seals us away out of fear of our power) Regardless whether either are true or not this song confirms we definitely are the same character from PSO2.
I'm sticking by my theory that this is all a simulation. - The planet is clearly artificial - The DOLLS are similarly entirely technological - The infrastructure of Halpha is a joke, nobody could've survived centuries with a capital city the size of a (small, non-American) shopping mall and a couple of broken facilities - VR training facilities are strewn about the land without rhyme or reason. - Where are all the ships? Each was the size of multiple cities. Just landing them would provide tons of living space and defence against the DOLLS. - Why are our servers still named for the ships? - Stasis and transport never messed with memories before, why now? - Creatures from various different worlds in PSO2 somehow all together on the same planet
@@zephyr8072 na it sounds too simple, feel like Sega would play with the concept just for complexity's sake, for the simulation route I'd go with 'you are also a simulated being based on your PSO2's character battle data, the real Halpha is facing a Dark Falz crisis and they're simulating old ARKS from 1000 years ago to see how they handled the situation and they just got lucky they pulled the Guardian's data', which is why we got more than one Meteorn. Your points open up a lot of discussion but at this point everything is a theory, the story is really underdeveloped :|
@@zephyr8072 I'd just like to point out for one of your points, during the beginning of episode 4, they stated that a possible side effect of being in cryo stasis was memory loss, and it was something they were legitimately worried about. That was for the player being in there for 2 years. It has been 1000 years since then, in New Genesis, and the pods you drop in look suspiciously like cryostasis pods.
In this case it makes sense at least. You're stalling for time, and it's not really a victory more as it is driving it off. Whole New World's the kind of theme for when it's time to truly finish something off.
The first time I did the Dark Falz UQ, and this song dropped as his health refilled, I wasn't even upset that the party had to deplete its health AGAIN, because of this song. It cannot be understated how good that feeling is the first time you hear it.
Honestly best fight we had in a really long time. This was an amazing falz fight and i cant wait to see more......so long as they can keep the lag under control
Gonna be honest, while I miss the New World climax theme we get during boss fights in old Pso2, the new Meteorn Climax theme gave me chills when I heard it X) Dammit, more content can't come soon enough lol
This fight... with this theme song... is just one of the most amazing things I've live in a game, I think. Especially when you know the PS series since the very first and see the references of the ancients episodes, intentionnal or not. Seriously? This is a final boss and Episode fight, not just some new UQ like that. This is so good I can't imagine how good the upcoming bosses will be now. Sega.... awww.
I was hella dissapointed when the health bar went empty without a 3rd phase. Then I went ??? when the arms came in and try to nuke. And when this started playing as Dark Falz space broke? My lack of faith in NGS received a Fomelgion directly to the face. Absolute god tier fight
@@iliketurtles9192 Yeah, the focus they put on the game so far looks misplaced. They got a great base to work on and the game feels fun to play even when grinding, but they're focusing on extra starting content (ex. new classes) and on making current content feel obsolete too quickly so that players need to keep on the grinding if they want to be up to latest (releasing new stronger weapon/armor/augs 1 or 2 months into current patch) Meanwhile all they would need to do is adding in new quests, more things to do, and focus on QoL improvements
What if that was done on purpose? Think of how confused players are about their role within the game, it's almost the same confusion those with Amnesia would face. Perhaps a good idea, that wasn't well executed.
I didn't realize how into the story I was my first play through until I heard this song during the fight. Good song no doubt about that but I really hope this isn't going to be featured in every boss fight going forward like the one in pso2 classic. Could be it feels too western with the english lyrics or that most of my favorite pso2 songs didn't have any lyrics at all
Personally I feel this song is way too corny lol. Like as much as I love PSO2 there were a couple lyrical songs that were corny, but this takes it to a whole new extreme.
This fits very much in context for PC and the meteorns. There is a vast difference of Base PC and NGS PC. Base PC was mostly working alone 99% time, forget to do check-ups to their own health and being too much workaholic NGS PC is way different than base PC considering they have no idea who they are besides remembering their own name and why they came to Halpha and is considered a meteorn just like Manon and the fact PC fights more in unity compared to base PC working 99% of the time alone and shouldering everyone’s burden
@@Plotpurotto How much the lyrics fit the story, doesn't make the way they did this song seem any less corny to me lol. Also to the Guardian's credit, sometimes their allies were right beside them and then as soon as Dark Falz appeared they would just suddenly disappear to who knows where, which made it seem strange that we kept getting lectured on doing everything ourselves, when our allies were the ones that tended to just suddenly leave when we needed them most.
@@mr_mykal : In general I find lyrical songs in games to be games embracing what they are and why we love them in the first place instead of shying away from it.
@@vixenxia2475 Then what the hell are the ALTERS?
whenever this UQ appear, and come to phase 2... it instantly send a shivers right down to my spine, i feel like fighting the last boss.... that feels to win and conquer it... as ranger main dodge run n blight it feel much more harder than normal UQ. The best OST so far after dark to light especially htpd moment
Legit had a tear at the 1st few secs of this song playing
This song made the final phase epic
After listening to this again; the song, in my mind, seems to be our backstory. "I don't remember where, I don't remember how I fell." Something happened to ARKS that may have gotten us nearly killed. My theory is the story is going with either:
A. Breath of the Wild backstory (Calamity befell ARKS and we nearly die fighting it)
B. Shadow the Hedgehog backstory
(AKA Casra was right; ARKS Civil War that seals us away out of fear of our power)
Regardless whether either are true or not this song confirms we definitely are the same character from PSO2.
I'm sticking by my theory that this is all a simulation.
- The planet is clearly artificial
- The DOLLS are similarly entirely technological
- The infrastructure of Halpha is a joke, nobody could've survived centuries with a capital city the size of a (small, non-American) shopping mall and a couple of broken facilities
- VR training facilities are strewn about the land without rhyme or reason.
I'm just hoping it's not a FFX version and we're long dead that would be depressing.
B is something I always thought about too, good thinking!
Sad there's not a Whole New World victory lap at the end, but it was nice to hear the PSO1 Dark Falz theme worked in.
hopefully they do add them in later climatic tracks. They have whole new world playing in aelio city.
For the victory, for Aelio town!
I love the Idola sounding theme's so much! T^T
Yayyyy. Lyric boss songs are back.
Like Poison Spear and Blue on the Run!
Right
more to come hopefully
@@jettthespeeddemon3884 Aw fuck yeah those songs hit hard.
Lets go Arks! The adventure awaits us!
This is why I love PSO2!
i recently hit the required BP and entered this UQ and holy sh*t this song... i just had to search it up man
The EQ happened jsut now.... this part ish so epic and I can't even DPS right XD
Honestly best fight we had in a really long time. This was an amazing falz fight and i cant wait to see more......so long as they can keep the lag under control
when the song slap harder than lv200 Sodam
Or Lv999 Masq
Gonna be honest, while I miss the New World climax theme we get during boss fights in old Pso2, the new Meteorn Climax theme gave me chills when I heard it X)
Dammit, more content can't come soon enough lol
いよいよ明後日!(*´꒳`*)テンション上がってきた!
Sega.... awww.
I got actual chillz when this song played.
Music starts "You are 1000 years too early to even hope to beat me"
"Lock-On System is being an a-hole again but you're so hyped by the battle you can't even speak" theme
Lol i never use lock system against dark falz except using force class. I'll get seizure for sure lmao.
I was hella dissapointed when the health bar went empty without a 3rd phase. Then I went ??? when the arms came in and try to nuke. And when this started playing as Dark Falz space broke? My lack of faith in NGS received a Fomelgion directly to the face.
Absolute god tier fight
Also, this is not Dark Falz theme, it's ours!
I'm so glad to be alive!
SEGA: *underdevelops NGS's story quests*
Also SEGA: *places character development in songs*
did they hire the geniuses behind MGR:R's soundtrack wtf
I swear, SEGA Puts all their Budget in their Songs.
I wish they'd put as much effort into the ngs story...
@@iliketurtles9192 Yeah, the focus they put on the game so far looks misplaced.
They got a great base to work on and the game feels fun to play even when grinding, but they're focusing on extra starting content (ex. new classes) and on making current content feel obsolete too quickly so that players need to keep on the grinding if they want to be up to latest (releasing new stronger weapon/armor/augs 1 or 2 months into current patch)
Meanwhile all they would need to do is adding in new quests, more things to do, and focus on QoL improvements
What if that was done on purpose? Think of how confused players are about their role within the game, it's almost the same confusion those with Amnesia would face. Perhaps a good idea, that wasn't well executed.
@@MrAnarchyMarine hats off to Sega if they're actually trying to do something like this honestly
My fellows Arks, I'm here to say one thing: I'm so glad this song is in Spotify! Though I still need Dark to Light there too.
This theme finally confirmed one thing for me:
SEGA has this all planned out. They're *not* just "winging it" as they go (with the NGS story).
Always have been, it just they tend to think their current contents is enough to make people occupy
'course they have, the 'fight for this world' refrain has been in the Retem battle theme since the region was launched
I didn't realize how into the story I was my first play through until I heard this song during the fight. This and that moment after defeating Dark Falz where you're pushed by the spirit of a certain someone into the killing blow both had me a little misty-eyed.
Even though it was only a few months ago hearing this again makes me very nostalgic :)
I want this awasome song in my Mag!!!!
Ngl this is a banger
More bosses like this please, the music is great as always.
This sounds like ARKS Defender National Anthem
ah yes the dark falz elder hahaha always reminds of the fight before...like the old days
Man i really wish i liked ngs more... Doing this with my alliance for the first time was so cool.
Peeps keep saying it looks like elder but it actually looks closer to persona.
Lookin' cool Joker
CZcams erased my thumbs up bro. but here i go again.
We could've finished the dark falz off for our selves... But then we just let Crawford fire his big gun. xD
Just one lack from this...
, they forgot to put the "whole new world" in the end of this bgm...
Me, hearing the song for the first time on a stream: "This sound corny."
Me, hearing the song the first time fighting (in NGS) Dark Falz: "LET'S FUCKING GO!"
*Dark Falz:* WHY DO I HEAR BOSS MUSIC?!
This theme, is epic. Like, ultra epic.
the meteorn moment Théo 💀💀
Édit I meant tho
This song slaps harder than Dark Falz.
Finally good boss music in NGS

Holding steady, so get ready for battle, Meteron
[In a fire](?) we desire to battle, we are sworn
Ever burning, ever yearning, ever learning, we’ll always be
Are you siding with me? Ever shining, are we
(Orchestra Instrumental)
Innocence is my journey to perceive
[Calm and sense/common sense], give me something to believe
I don’t remember where
I don’t remember how I fell
I can see only half way through the dark
Memory is the fire they’ll need to spark
If you remember where if you remember how
Just cover up the void in my heart
Cover me, I will cover you
I know tomorrow leads us on in every way
The past is flown (the past is flown)
Over the edge and the past
Along the sea the battle has grown
We’re all we can be
There is truth, there is right
That’s the only thing we know
And the way we show we are
Enrolled the minute, feel like we’re in it ‘til the end
And when the battle seems long, we soldier on
We will defend (fight for this world)
Holding steady, so get ready for battle, Meteron
Our resistance is existence for that we were born
We hope for tomorrow our purpose we borrow
It’s the light of this mission seeing us to the dawn
Holding steady, so get ready for battle, Meteron
[In a fire](?) we desire to battle, we are sworn
Ever burning, ever yearning, ever learning, we’ll always be
Are you siding with me? Ever shining, are we

There’s a wall to surroundings that exist
Can’t recall, but it’s something that I miss
I don’t remember why, I don’t remember who I am
I’m alive, I’ll fulfill a plan unknown
I revive, a belief I’m not alone
If you remember why, if you remember how
This curious adventure is teaching me, I will talk to you
The joy of living, coupled with uncertainty
It’s hard to face (it’s hard to face)
But with the dreams and the home you share with us
We found our place and someone to trust
There is strength, there is light
That’s the only world we choose
And the way we bruise all of
The ones with who oppose us
Everyone knows us, we are strong
We come together in harm, where we'll confide
We all belong (Fight for this world)
Holding steady, so get ready for battle, Meteron
Our resistance is existence for that we were born
We hope for tomorrow our purpose we borrow
It’s the light of this mission seeing us to the dawn
Holding steady, so get ready for battle, Meteron

Ever burning, ever yearning, ever learning, we’ll always be
Are you siding with me? Ever shining, are we
Hold fate in your hands, go it is our destiny-ooohh

Well, to be fair, this IS the first story boss that has the name "Dark Falz". And the beginning of the story.
NGS is a broke man finale fantasy
Bro don't you DARE compare NGS to Final Fantasy. Dang no respect for Final Fantasy I swear.
I don't know why but this song doesn't resonate with as much as I'd hoped it would. Good song no doubt about that but I really hope this isn't going to be featured in every boss fight going forward like the one in pso2 classic. Could be it feels too western with the english lyrics or that most of my favorite pso2 songs didn't have any lyrics at all

Cringe
Personally I feel this song is way too corny lol. Like as much as I love PSO2 there were a couple lyrical songs that were corny, but this takes it to a whole new extreme.
This fits very much in context for PC and the meteorns.
There is a vast difference of Base PC and NGS PC.
Base PC was mostly working alone 99% time, forget to do check-ups to their own health and being too much workaholic
NGS PC is way different than base PC considering they have no idea who they are besides remembering their own name and why they came to Halpha and is considered a meteorn just like Manon and the fact PC fights more in unity compared to base PC working 99% of the time alone and shouldering everyone’s burden
PSO2 has always been campy and corny, I think they should continue to embrace it. I love this, I'm eating it up, lol.
@@mr_mykal : In general I find lyrical songs in games to be games embracing what they are and why we love them in the first place instead of shying away from it.
I do think it works best in situations where you really know where you stand (like good vs. evil) as opposed to stories or events that lean more toward thoughtful or insightful.
What's wrong with that?
