It's all on the Knicks... He can't thrive offensively if he is not provided the opportunities. This offense does not have anything called for him. He is an afterthought. He should have plays called for him and average at least a dozen shots a game. I believe it is in the game plan for him not to be aggressive and take things into his own hands. I am in agreement it needs to change. He has it in him but it's up to Tibbs to include him.
Agreed. I feel it's the lack of offensive scheming as our coach is only known for his defense. Randle and JB way too ball dominant. We have maybe another year to make something out of this mess, but I'm losing faith that this front office can turn out a true contender. I hope I'm proven wrong.

The problem as I see it is JULIUS RANDLE! He doesn't move the ball nearly enough. He doesn't recognize collapsing defense quickly enough & he has a problem adjusting to how the defense plays him. That's why players around him aren't getting shots

@@lilsouffle3749 EXACTLY! we aren't saying Julius RANDLE isn't a good player but not as a first option. He's just not a franchise player but he's stubborn. He probably thinks he can be or is but what we see on the court speaks for itself

They made him the new Obi, the offense would be better if we kept obi and ran more offense through, jb, rj, and grimes. The team would move better with better defense

Yes. On top of that…they don’t know how to pass it into his shooting “basket.” He’s having to bend over, catch, reset feet and shoot.
the problem is that Randle should not be your primary or secondary playmaker. If RJ/ JB/ IQ are in the lineup at the same time, then the ball movement is good and will get open shots, but when the offense is run through Randle, he's gonna ball hog and make the offense so difficult to get open shots

Hey Anthony I would start Josh hart at the two or three depending on what position RJ is most comfortable at then bring a small ball line up with Quickley , DiVincenzo and Grimes. That would space the floor with shooters and scrappy players, Quickley can always get a foot in the paint and that leaves Grimes and DiVincenzo open for shots if the defense collapses.

This is once again Thibbs fault, he does not run plays for Grimes. Grimes is a good playmaker if he has the ball in his hands more. A shooting guard suppose to shoot!
And for all the coaches….he’s in the corner BECAUSE he’s the best 3pt shooter! He’s in the corners to create SPACE for the other players in the starting unit that aren’t shooters (except Brunson) and need to work in the middle…Randle, RJ, Mitch & Jalen. WHERE’s he supposed to be on the floor?

On offense Grimes has been plugged in to play the role Obi did last year. Wait at the 3 point line for the ball to swing to him

I think Grimes should play more with quick and RJ while Randle and Brunson is on the bench.
As long as Thibbs use Grimes to only stand in the corner and wait for the ball, we will never win games consistently! That stubborn mule of a coach must change his approach!

He need to learn how to create his own shot
He can, he’s so quick off the dribble and has the handles to do it. Just feel like it’s a confidence/coaching thing.
Grimes pisses me off. He should do a little more moving without the ball. When he gets the rock, be more aggressive and attack the rim. He is shifty with his handles and has great vision. He can be another playmaker out there that other teams would have to worry about. But too often, he just goes to the corners and waits for someone to make a pass. Look at Hart and DVC, I am pretty sure coach is not running any plays for them. But when they're in the game, no one has to tell them to be aggressive and attack the basket. Stop being so passive, Grimes.
Grimes 100% has more in the tank he has nifty moves off the bounce and is a sneaky good passer. I NEVER see him handle the ball even DVC and hart handle the ball now and then, I don’t get it, grimes needs to stop with this nonsense and start creating a few of his own shots every game
I don't Know, the kid is great, maybe swap him for Donte in the starting five, and give him more ball with the second unit?
Quentin Grimes is a 3 & D player. I don't know ow what people expect from him.
He has not shown He can create his own shot off the dribble at a high right. He hasn't shown that his ball handling is strong enough to give him more responsibility there.
What he HAS shown is he can knock down an open shot, attack a close out if he's run off the 3 pt line, and play decent defense.
Thibs need to stagger his minutes as well, it's a shame because we all know he's better than that! He should be getting atleast 10 shots a game

I am so tired of these excuses. Grimes doesn't look to shoot plain and simple. He just chucks up 3s. He doesn't mix up his game. He doesn't drive the ball to the basket.

He isn't that good. He wasn't that good in college. That's why he didn't enter the draft in 2019. And he isn't his 3 point shots.
He gets hot one game and the next 3 he can't hit a shot. That's how you only get 40% from such a so called "great shooter."
As a draft scout said "whether it was Kansas or Houston. Grimes is consistently inconsistent.
He frustrated the hell out of Bill Self.😂
