Great idea, but I'd have to position it much nearer to the front edge of the table in order to reach the machine easily.

I think this is great. It is your personal choice where you place the hole for your machine.
It go to show what one can do with whatever material you have at home without spending much. Amazing what one can do when you put your mind to it. 👍

adrian coelho lol yeah i thought that too at first but i sew patchwork pants and it would be nice to have more room when tailoring pants.
Its best suited for quilters that do need the extra room.

Why on earth would you add a laminate top when you could just stain and poly. Please enlighten. It seems cheap and sad.
The fabric will move better on the vinyl, the wood is too rough and cut damage the fabrics
