- CES 2024 gave us a first look at Xreal's Air 2 Ultra and we were seriously impressed. It takes guts to go after the Apple Vision Pro for a fraction of the price, which is why we gotta hand it to the Xreal Air 2 Ultra. Can these affordable AR glasses give Apple's Vision Pro a run for its money?

I saw these in the 90's when I went to an Orlando Magic game. I got to see Shaq play haha. They were in one of the booths around the arena.

Does this need the Beam attachment for screen anchoring?
The beam won't work with it.
I just want to know how using these as a dual monitor system on a laptop is. I have a the xreal but I think it going to return them cause reading text is pretty taxing
Did you try setting up the zoom to 125%?

if mac, no need beam
Beam doesn't work on those and for mac nebula is compatible.

And you were severely misinformed they’re not coming out in March. The pre-orders were coming out in March. It’s not gonna be here till later on this year. Clear evidence proves there’s not a single video other than this and a few others from CES from three months ago and their website says pre-order not release date pre-order.

Will the s24 be compatible with these glasses? The xreal website only shows the s22 and s23. I would like to think it will be, but then again their current android app supports the s20 but not the s23...
I think they are compatible. Only the google pixel isn’t because of display out

It seems that you have to pay attention to the processor used. Snapdragon seems mandatory.

I have the Xreal airs, I’ve had them for almost 2 years. The ultra will never compete with the Apple Vision Pro. Xreal sucks as a company. They have made horrible decisions and horrible updates the whole time I’ve had the glasses.

It's such a joke, now everyone is all of a sudden calling things "spatial computing" because that's the terminology Apple uses.
It would be fine if we actually had both a true 3D VR operating system (complete with a competent file tree that you can explore as a legit workspace and/or world) which is lacking in all these Mobile based kitbashed interfaces stuck in 'app' store functionality, and a complete reinvention of how the Internet interfaces with us. As a world, just as every Cyberpunk author describes, not a bunch of 2D documents to shuffle through with the occasional piece of embedded 2d media. Today's web domain architecture is just a glorified Dewey Decimal system.

Apple stopped supporting the original iPad after only a year. Why would anyone buy the Vision Pro when Apple might do the same?
Right 3500 is too much to spend for a first version that's going to be obsolete in 2 years max. I'm going to get these in March hoping that the apps catch up with the tech

2024 is really surprising me now that Amazons AWT77K hit the road. After all these years of barely reading anything good I was usually just shutting down any type of media influence as much as I can but this brings back good lights and it should give hope to some of you that no matter what is going on in the world at the end something good comes to surface
It will take some time to understand how Amazons AWT77K is having the most impact in these times.
