The football season, as quick as it had begun, is finally over. We have our fourteen teams set for the playoffs (be them longshots or heavy favorites). But how did we get there? How did certain teams make it or fall out? That's where Week Eighteen comes into view. Some games were meaningless for everything besides getting experience to players, but others had massive implications.
This video is in dedication to such an enterprise. God speed.

Vrabel, Carrol, and Nick Saban getting fired or retiring in the span of two days has been one of the most chaotic weeks of coaching news I’ve ever seen in football.
Imagine if Belichick goes.
Alabama students, fans, and alumni are about to feel what Manchester United supporters have painfully felt for almost a decade: the era where they absolutely become mediocre or terrible when their greatest coach retires.
@@TimLSimit’s not the first time.
They experienced this when Bear Bryant retired.
There are some rumblings going around that one of the biggest reasons for Saban's sudden retirement announcement (if not the sole reason) is that his wife, Miss Terry, is showing early signs of dementia.
As someone who just recently lost his only remaining grandmother to dementia after a years-long battle, I can totally see why this announcement was so sudden.
maybe the hawks can get Dan Quinn back from the Cowboys so they can have a proper defense again
The worst part of this episode is that it’s the last one of the NFL season.
Good thing the playoffs are here. Should be a fun ride.
I await the UFL season
My same exact thoughts as I clicked on the vid :(
God does not close a door (end of NFL Sportsball) without also opening a window (playoff videos and NHL coverage)
well at least we will get the haters guide to the playoffs?
This was a season. There were the good teams (maybe two or three of them), the meh teams, the bad teams, and the Panthers.
aka *DEATH*
This is amazing
Yeah & we got beat by them.
Replace that with the Eagles... there was literally a tweet out there joking that UMich had a legitimate chance to beat Philly.
And the Falcons, who somehow lost to the Panthers
The Derek Henry scene was pure gold. Such grace for King Henry.
The LOTR music made it so much better
Forth Eorlingas!
I actually dropped a tear or two. I don't know if Derrick Henry will ever be picked up again. But if he does, I hope he goes to a team that's actually vying for a super bowl championship. Because if there's ever somebody who deserves a ring, it's him.
Legit almost teared up 😂😂
@@shioriryukaze I'd actually love to see King Henry on the Lions or Tampa Bay. But yeah he deserves a ring. His running style is aggressive but also fluid and majestic. He looks like a literal gazelle out there, and he's incredibly fun to use in Madden.
The final “I’m calling both games!” until the beginning of next season’s Sportsball. Hopefully Tree doesn’t forget to include it in the first week again💀
I dont think he forgot he just didnt realize the demand for it.
He definitely didn't forget. He was just trying to change up his content and make it new!
he used it twice here so don't complain as much next time lol
@@mbdg6810 fair enough lol. Actually I think it’s been used like 3 times from where I’m currently at
It’s honestly gotten to the point to where it’s annoying. It was a phrase used in 2019. He needed to do something new.
I legit cried when you started talking about Derrick Henry. I hope wherever he goes, they treat him like the juggernaut that he is. Get this man a ring!
Get that man a crown and 3 rings. He deserves it.
Get this man to KC. Him replacing McKinnon and aside Pacheco? Yessssss.... Ring time
Buffalo?
@@zackyep Better... Baltimore.
I may hate the Ravens, but if this is his last chance to get a ring, then fine Baltimore, get that ring for King Henry and then get out of my face for the rest of the decade.
And also please tell me Cincy will get a ring too this decade.
Bro I almost shed a tear with King Henry running to the LOTR soundtrack (21:32) haha brilliant work. Another Sportsball year in the book ✅
I could only envision the King chanting “DEATH” three times and then “FORTH EORLINGAS” before taking the field.
King Henry stands alone
Not alone. ROHIRRIM
It was awesome. Probably my favorite way he's presented one of his recaps in any video.
Ironic. Just cleared through the trilogy recently. I watched the extended editions of these with my sister who had seen them before. Loved them
I almost did too. Damn poetic is what it is...
I’m still in shock over Saban retiring
Felt like it came out of nowhere really.
@@icetredotnet6473 so did vrabel and carrol honestly
The hack bill obrien gonna ruin bama now 😂
@@tleoipl37But now we have a worse reality: Belichick to Tuscaloosa
It's an end of an era.
The Derrick Henry - Return of the King Crossover is a top 5 Sportsball moment of all time. Goosebumps
That King Henry segment was incredible.
We saw the King don his crown one final time for Tennessee. It'll feel strange seeing Derrick Henry somewhere else soon
The Derrik Henry bit literally gave me chills
You did King Henry so much justice in this video. That had to be one of the best clips of him with that music.
I think he has 2 more good years left. Hope he joins the Bills for a title run. Him, Allen, and Cook would be unbeatable.
@@jonathanpusar5931 I was thinking the same thing man. That or maybe Vrabel gets the head coach job in New England and takes him with him
The Jaguars v Titans segment was pure art.
Love Live the King.
Pete Carroll being gone as head coach hit me really hard. Seattle was such a sorry franchise before him. I grew up with my dad telling me about how much the used to Raiders shit on us back in the day and watched them lose the Superbowl in 2008. Coach Carroll completely changed Seattle sports and the spirit of the city to a winning culture.
there is zero culture in Seattle
They went to the Super Bowl in 2005 and should've won if not for the refs
It's a sad but understandable moment, we should cherish the good and look to the future hoping things will get better
The 08 Seahawks were definitely not in the Super Bowl, that was Holmgren's last season and we went 4-12
There should be a channel award for "Quote of the Year". I feel like there are always a handful of gems that coaches and players drop every year that get memed on. These quotes deserve their recognition!
You can stop asking that question. I'M going to be calling the defenses.
you got that fire in your gut?
@@Aleriionyeah that’s quite of the year. Certainly worked out well 😂😂😂
What's the question? What's the QUESTION!?
Announcers and Refs too!
Bro, the LOTR music with Henry’s highlights gave me goosebumps. What a phenomenal performance from him.
I don't know if you'll see this comment or not but I just wanted to say thank you for everything that you do these videos are the highlight of my week and I always look forward to them, you've helped me to get through a very tough time in my life lately having your videos has been a welcome and much distraction from it all. Keep up the amazing work you're awesome! ❤
I cracked up at the "playoffs by default" for the Bucs. So painfully true
And yet I like their chances against Philly
The King Henry segment was simply poetic
Farewell King Henry, You will be remembered by everyone in Tennessee.
14:33 now tree gets to live with him on the Steelers 😂
29:21 "Tepper tantrums" omfg that pun had me genuinely laughing out loud. So accurate.
So funny it made me throw my drink!
In two slight bits of "extracurricular LOL" this week both thanks to Jacksonville:
1) The implosion of Shad's team is on par with his son's AEW booking.
2) in local news (and probably close enough to reach UTree himself), a fairly big story was how Browns fans had to essentially re-plan premade playoff logistics as it was assumed the Jags would have won ONE more game and Cleveland would meet Jacksonville. Jacksonville had even been advertising to THEIR fans how they had playoff tickets for sale for a few weeks now. Now, they don't have shit, and a lot of folks from NE Ohio scrambling to redirect their gameday vacations from Florida to Texas.
What I'm saying is, the Jaguars disappointed TWO different fanbases. That's saying something.
Well at least Shad isn't acting like a emo teenage girl on Twitter when he's criticized
That's the type of crap that is BEGGING for a massive dose of karma to be induced
That makes me a packers fan NOT look completely insufferable which I am n will humbly admit
Humble up n realize you ain't all that in Jacksonville n work hard or you're going to enter the same pit Carolina is when they hired fitterer n Dom capers
The tourettes guy "Bullshit!" on the Steelers graphic annihilated me😂
How in the sam hell is it the end already? Thanks for another great season, Tree. Every episode has been hilarious and well put together.
The King Henry section with the Rohirrim charge in the background was 🙌
30:22 I was one of those Hawks fans wanting the club to revamp the coaching the system for 2024 but the Pete Carroll news from earlier today still shook me.
Regardless of what anyone says, Pete is a coaching legend in the Emerald City and he honestly deserves a spot in Canton one day. Thank you for your 14 years of coaching services, Pete Carroll.
If there's one silver lining to being eliminated from playoff contention, it's that Tree set it to a scene from The Mummy, one of my favorite movies.
I was fuckin terrified of those flesh eating beetles in that movie as a kid and the Seattle eliminated bit made me cough up a lung lol
The Patriots waited for Tree to upload Sportsball to then announce Bill Belichick was leaving the organization
The wildest season by far in the sportsball era
Nah it will forever be the 2021 season
@@alphabah60942021 season is by far my favorite season in the last few years
You couldn't have scripted a crazier regular season.
Sadly this will be the last "IM CALLING BOTH GAMES!!!" Of the regular season. It's been a great year of Sportsball. Thank you tree for all the effort you put into these vids.
As a Titans fan the way you handled King Henry in the Titans/Jags segment, was beautiful. It honestly brought a little tear to my eye. It’s the end of an era here in Tennessee, but I feel like the future is bright. Long live the King.
Tank Division chaos. Jags collapse. Bills ascend against the odds. The gutsy firings. Watson Bowl. Stafford Bowl. Hill Bowl. Rodgers Memories Bowl. What a way to end this glorious series on this season!
I can't believe we've reached the end of Sportsball for the NFL. It feels like only a week ago it got started, but now we're in the playoff round. I'm gonna miss this weekly series.

29:33 Mike Vrabel fired as HC
Scott Fritterer is actually a GM, not a HC
Arthur Smith became a "Dead Man Walking" after losing to the Carolina Panthers on 12/17. The season-ending defeat to New Orleans sealed his fate.
I’m so glad you understand the decision to move on from Vrabel, it’s crazy how you know more than most espn commentators on why Vrabel was fired. He is a classic football guy, but he despises change and different opinions. He wants to run the titans organization with his friends and doesn’t make decisions that are good for this team but good for the people he likes. People saying otherwise have not really been paying close attention to him or this team.
Yup basically Jeff Fisher ironically
@@thepubknight6144Yeah, except instead of 7-9, it was 9-7. Then they changed the schedule to 17 games and he didn't know what to do
That Dennis Allen wasn't fired is the Saints inoculating themselves against a playoff appearance for the five years, but to bring Jon Gruden in is to ensure they are basement dwellers for a decade.
Another amazing year of sportsball. I can't believe my Giants beat the Eagles.
Hope the G-men get better next year, their Superbowl wins against the Pats (18-1 in particular) are what started getting me more interested in your football (called "american football" in south america). Would love to see them back in the playoffs soon!

Two former NDSU QBs on TWISb. What a time to be alive.
Thank you tree for another season.
Thanks for the Paul Allen send off, and indeed, it can’t end like that.
Last year, when Vrabel won the power struggle with previous Titans GM, you were the only one calling out him for being way too power hungry. You nailed it at that time and time is telling it now! Really appreciate you for showing such an insight towards a team that is very often overlooked beyond a radius of 5 miles away from Nashville!

The last episode is always bittersweet. If John Facenda is the Voice of God, Urinating Tree is the Voice of Jebus. Thanks for another fine year of classy production. I appreciate the effort you put into these.

Thanks for the memories Coach Pete! Made Seattle a winner and I loved his enthusiasm. I'll always remember him making the Hawks fun to watch, not only for the negative like super bowl 49 or always losing to the Rams Had to be time to move on though and I'm excited for the future I think there is a promising core on this team that could compete under a new leader.

I am not even a Carolina fan, yet I've got to say that trading Christian McCaffrey was one of the dumbest moves of all time.
Every move they made the last 3 years has been terrible. All of them. It’s remarkable actually.
The roster management at Buffalo and Gettleman’s shit show with the Giants shows that Carolina’s talent was all Beane.

What a season of Sportsball it has been. Thank you for documenting the chaos so beautifully, Tree! Can't wait for the Playoffs.
Lovie Smith will now have two statues built in his honor. Not only is he saving the Bears in the long term with Luke Getsy FINALLY getting fired, but he also saved Houston in the short term with CJ Stroud doing CJ Stroud things.
Thanks again, Carolina. 🐻⬇️
not sure why he's helping the bears so much with how they fired him after a 10-6 season (they've been over .500 exactly once since firing him 11 years ago), but football is weird
@@diggsfather Lovie Smith was Houston’s head coach last season and they were in the running for the first overall pick as well as Chicago. In week 18, Houston won and Chicago lost, so Chicago got the number one pick. The Bears trade it to Carolina for DJ Moore and picks, Carolina picks Bryce Young and Houston picks CJ. Houston gets to the playoffs and Carolina sucks again, giving Chicago the number one pick again. Saving two franchises.

The best part about this video has to be being updated on Tank Division. I could never stomach watching that horrible football, but here is Tree sacrificing his sanity for us.
This NFL coaching and GM search is gonna be chaos

Love that part at 7:49!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 My favorite of ALL TIME!!!!
As a Chiefs fan, I can't deny that we have been off all season. The fact we still made it to the playoffs despite such a lackluster performance by our O-Line has been a surprise for me. Mahomes' talent is squandered by a lack of good receivers and Matt Nagy's terrible offensive coordinating, Jones and crew have to carry us with their incredible defensive plays... I don't have much hope for our playoffs. Hopefully they wake the hell up and play some damn football for once this season.
I’ve said it since week 5, but if we don’t at least make the AFC champ game to extend the streak this season is such a waste.
Honestly, I would’ve rather miss the playoffs completely for a better draft pick than lose in the 1st round or in embarrassing fashion…both of which are very plausible
I wasn't too surprised that the Chiefs made the playoffs, thanks to the rest of the division being in a state of hilarious disarray.
Thank you Prater for saving the Cards' pick
There's some Old Soldier's Honor thing where I want to see Stafford come out for the coin toss, meet Goff on the 50 yard line, and have the two shake hands for a long minute before that game starts. Detroit should appreciate them both. I'm a fan of neither team, really, but it's the best storyline, and those guys deserve a real Moment.
Did I hear the big boom from the missed field goal? Happy to hear that in the intro, knew it would fit well.
It's been another good, chaotic year of sportsball this season. See you all this weekend and preseason baseball.
