Natural forest fires are actually good for the environment. But when people import those trees and mostly only plant them on vast areas in which it is not natural, then things get ugly. But it's not the fault of either fire or the plants

to be fair world altering legendary pokemon were already a big thing in gen 3 which was forever ago, and I loved that gen.
Id say what the newer gens REALLY are lacking is just exploring a world without somebody holding your hand.
You get constant notifications by your talking pokedex where to go, the XP sharer is beyond broken and available early, so youre always overleveled and are being led along a rather linear path. Finding out how to reach a new town/unlock a new route/get the next HM used to be a huge part of the game.
Obviously we got the internet now, which makes exploration way less exciting, but I still think turning down the handholding would greatly benefit the game.

Even if they are overshadowed by HeartGold and SoulSilver sometimes, I believe that FireRed and LeafGreen might be some of the most important games in the series. For example, they allowed you to get Pokémon that were previously unobtainable in Ruby and Sapphire due to technical limitations, and they were the first Pokémon games to support some kind of wireless feature, something which would later became the series standard in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.

It is also the only games in the series to legally acquire Soft-Boiled on certain pokemon legally without cheating the game. Nintendo already said that they would completely look the other way if they detect that someone cheated to access the move tutor by walking on water. They also clearly said to back up the save data first before doing it using technology that they knew would come out eventually in the future. They also said something like it will take a while to get the planning out done correctly for what you want to eventually do in the game, but the outcome will be worth every second of planning it, hopefully preparing for the future of the game series and your own personal reasons.

I loved FireRed. As anybody who ever played the Gen 1 games can tell you, there were a number of Quality of Life changes made by the time Fire Red and Leaf Green released. This includes the automatic swapping of Pokemon Boxes when one is filled, as well as the changes to the item inventory. This makes playing FireRed and LeafGreen a far less stressful experience. Having to constantly switch boxes so that you wouldn't miss out on a Pokemon capture was a pain. And only being able to hold a handful of item types at a time meant you were constantly selling or storing items in the PC.
I find Masuda's comment about picking colors a bit silly. Fire burns leaves, after all. The most harmonious choice would actually be Leaf and Water, as water helps plants grow. Seems he was still influenced by the marketing power of Charizard.

This happens in a lot of languages where Western languages have words for more colors where some older and/or indigenous languages use one word for multiple colors in the spectrum, and the listener/reader has to use other context clues to find out which color it actually is. Good examples are the Kekchi people, a Mayan group in Guatemala, uses both "raš" meaning "blue" and "green" and the Mahri people of Yemen and Oman use both "heźáwr" to mean "blue" and "green"
