look for the location or file path of the album file you're trying to transfer by checking the details/info of one image. I found mine it's in ShareIt folder outside the DCIM folder but still in internal storage.

great lesson a little addon.... PC couldnt detect the phone this was good advice, and help you 'see' the file on your PC, Found a fix for the MTP Device problem. Make sure the usb cable is connected to phone and computer and the phone is unlocked. Go to the C:\Windows\INF folder In the search box (top right hand side) type wpdmtp and right click on the wpdmtp.inf file and click install This should fix the problem. It will not work unless you have the phone connected to the USB port and the phone switched on and unlocked.

There is one other situation when you do not see anything on the phone. Cheap micro USB cables will only transfer power, not data. So they can only be used for charging. If you have tried all of his solutions and still don't see anything, change to a fully-wired USB cable!
How do I know if my USB charger cable is a crappy one? And if it is then what sort should I be looking for? I seem to be having this issue, where I plug my phone in to my laptop, using my USC charger cable, but once I do this I am met with a message which tells me that my laptop cannot recognise the USB device. I have tried a couple of cables now and still I get this same result? The thing is, I'm almost certain that I have transferred photos to my brother's PC a while back and I never had this issue, so it is really strange and annoying.
@@aryanpugilist If there are messages on the computer screen when you plug in the cable, it is fully wired. You should also see an additional drive in File Explorer. If the cable is only for charging, the computer stays quiet and you only see the charging symbol on the phone's screen. So you have a different problem. Maybe a bad USB port on the laptop or a bad driver or a Windows update that broke something. Try doing it on a different laptop or desktop.
I still have some files that I want to import from my phone missing on PC and I didnt try the 3rd way because I kinda dont trust it. When clicking Delete Data it says that most stuff like app data, databases etc. will get removed and this got me kinda scared. Is it safe to do this or do I lose everything once I remove the data? EDIT : Nevermind I've risked it, and holy fuck my heart went so weak that I almost could've fainted because it showed absolutely no photos but luckily it began showing everything back overtime and it actually worked. Sorry, it didn't work for me :( I can see the folders in DCIM, but the camera folder shows empty and when I click on properties it says 0 kB. But, at least I cleand my cache. :)
Searched for days. Finally decided to clear the cache and data as you suggested even though I didn't know if that was going to delete important info and my pics and FINALLY my PC was able to read my photos from my DCIM folder once again!! This worked great! thanks so much!!!
I have been using s21 ultra for several years, and downloading photos with USB s21 has no removable sd card. Now, all of a sudden, my "camera" folder shows it is empty, although it is not. I have been trying these so-called fixes for hours and samsung could not help at all, after hours on hold and them hanging up. Unbelievably frustrating, and this is combined with my other attempts for being on hold with ATT and PGE, verizon. It seems tech support does not exist anymore.
So, I have the DCIM folder showing empty on my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, and I can not for the life of me find the external storage. When I go into all apps, all I have is Permission Manager, Special access, and reset app preferences on the three dots.
I'm having issue not addressed. I connect my phone to PC. The camera folder is there. I click on folder and it starts to load then at very end PC stops recognizing my phone even though cord is still very much plugged into PC and phone.
Weird. I tried all of the steps in the video and still only got a root "internal storage" folder on the PC. For the hell of it, I tried a different USB cable and it worked. I've seen "charge only" USB cables but if that's what I was using, I wouldn't expect it to connect the phone at all. Either way, try a different USB cable if his tips don't fix your issue!

Some guy in the comments said that you have to rename the Camera file inside DCIM from the phone file explorer. Rename it "Camera2" then rename it back to "Camera" exactly. It worked for me!

I plug my phone into my laptop, using a normal USB charger cable, but when I do this I get a message saying it is not recognised? Please help me! What I see on my computer screen internal storage DCIM folders has only a few of what actually exists on my mobile device. Found a fix for the MTP Device problem.

I'm unable to transfer whole folders but is able to transfer videos/images individually. How to transfer whole SD folders in laptop.
Did not work-Windows cannot read Android system SD card's DCIM/Camera folder ("empty"). It can read other folders.
