Thanks for the video. In Philadelphia one of our outdoor garden areas has a similar G scale train layout that runs through their property. Just like this display they used natural materials to build stations and Philadelphia buildings. It is nice to see how many people are enjoying the display. I recognized one of the stations as a model of Cincinnati Union station. I thought it was a nice note that they said they will rotate various stations and trains to keep the display fresh.

You look lovely in the hat. That is a great place to check out, I use to do G-scale and still of a ton of it. But now it's all packed away and now I'm doing n-scale. Keep up the good work and your energy is wonderful
Thank you so much for watching, commenting about my energy - and yes - love that hat! I got it a couple of months ago from Alberly Sombreros. So it may be hard to tell, but their "garden" train is actually O gauge. I filmed some G-scale and N at the train show in Spencer in a previous episode.. and even filmed a Z scale riding around, but have not yet filmed a G gauge in action. Will have to make that happen sooner or later : )
I am not really into garden railroading, but seeing what going here in this video, is fascinating. I am an HO scale "brass" model train collector. That's really where my interest is. But, I still enjoyed watching this episode, the outdoor layout is beautiful. 😊

The layout looks very similar to that of the Morris Arboretum in Philadelphia, and they were both were produced by the same company. Nice to see it in CA!

Wow, totally amazing garden railroad. I like the fact that they used all natural surrounding materials to build it. The blue boxes of trains on the shelves are made by USA Trains which ic owned by Charles Ro Supply in Malden Massachusetts. If you are ever in that area it's worth the visit. Entertrainment Junction is a indoor garden railway located in Ohio. Sadly it is set to close by the end of the year. Garden trains are big in California. Look up the Sacramento Valley Garden Railway Society and they usually have a public event during the year. Are you planning a visit to the TCA Eastern Division York Show this fall? I know your Dad from the Train Loft likes to attend the show. He creates very nice custom run trains to offer people. He was showing me some paper work for future custom run releases at the TCA York spring show. Anyway, great video work on the visit.

@@jamesrea329 oh, hooray! I love hearing this! Such a beautiful area! I’ve only been to La Cañada Flintridge a few times or so, and every time it was as a photographer. But I started looking at those homes up on the mountain and thinking what a nice place to live that would be definitely inspired to make more trips to the area.

Decanso Gardens (Decanso means "rest" in Spanish, doesn't it?) certainly knows how to utilize the whimsy aspect of G Gauge, "G" does mean "Garden" after all. I couldn't get a good look at all the stations but one does seem to be inspired by Cincinnati Union Terminal (still there) and another by the Jersey Central's old terminal in Jersey City, still there as well and the hub of present day Liberty State Park.

You're very welcome, Wayne. And their "garden" model train layout is actually O gauge, with the 7 1/2 gauge available to ride. And that's interesting about the Cincinnati Union Terminal you mentioned... I was just in Ohio, and didn't know there was a Union station there (as well as in Los Angeles)... not sure if there are others, as well, around the country??
@@LisaKEntertainment There's quite a few union terminals around the country, or in some cases union stations. What makes a union station or terminal is its use by two or more railroads. Some were small like the New York Central / Susquehanna union station in Ridgefield Park NJ (Still there, I've seen it!) to big ones like Cincinatti (still there as well) and I believe there's one in Chicago but the name escapes me. Saint Louis has another surviving union station and you know about LA's. They're around, typically repurposed and quite grand. You'll have to use the Google machine to find 'em all!

When you talk to the camera can you look directly at it please makes it very hard to lip read other wise, thanks
I really appreciate you mentioning that. I could manually type in subtitles, but haven't otherwise found a way to add those. I tend to look all over the place, with things catching my eyes LOL - I will aim to focus on the camera when I'm speaking : )
