Thanks for getting to the point!

Exactly
I like boards within the range of 8.37-8.6 they are really stable and I feel really save riding fast and i land tricks more constantly. At first it felt hella big and heavy because I went to a 8.4 from a 7.75 but then I started doing more leg workouts and got strong enough to do flip tricks as easily as I do then on the 7.75. I highly recommend riding larger boards but in the end of the day, it’s about having fun skating.
I might take your advice here, I have a US 12 shoe size riding 8.25 and I think imma size up to 8.4 cuz I can’t land my flip tricks well
Super helpful and straightforward! Great video👏🔥
Just got my new deck and I love it! I'm glad whenever I need a new board I can come to you guys
Thanks for the support!
I just watched 20 minutes of filler to get the exact same info you gave me in less than 2 minutes. Really wish I'd watched this first. Excellent video thank you
thx for the help...my board is I think 8.0 inches...and I'm working on skating bowls...anyways I love you guys and keep doing what you're doing!
Damn you guys sold out of the tactics shop decks! I love em! Hope you restock soon
More on the way!
Its really preference rather than foot size. I skate an 8 and I have a size 13 shoe, works perfectly fine. If you are just getting into skateboarding I would recommend an 8 or 8.25 just to learn what your preference is. Then you can decide if you want to go bigger or smaller. But I really wouldn't recommend going down to a 7.5, 7.75 I would say is minimum
damn
Great video! Thank you!
This is really helpful cuz I’m buying a skateboard soon
Fast and easy mate thnx
This is what I like point to point
I had an 8.125 but I prefer 8.38 and I can tell you it feels way more stable and way more foot space so you don’t toe tap with tricks (:
I wear a mens 9 and I skate and 8.5. Can't wait to see how hard it is when I try kickflips.
You'll be fine! You'll be used to it within the first session. 👊
Thank you. Nice that your open to phone calls. T)
I love tactics
Tactics loves you.
I thought flips and heels would be a problem with large decks until I saw Chris Joslin doin´all double flips and heels on all stances on BATB
Thamks for the information
That board sick af
👍👍👍 simple informative
I’m 13, 4’9, and my shoe size is 4.5 to 5 in boys. What would a good size board to get. I have never used a skateboard
I'd recommend getting a deck between 7.5 - 8.0 inches 👌
Long shoe ahhhhh
Wow not 20 minutes long and answered my question thanks
Just curious what woodshop makes tactics decks? I’ve noticed u guys have a lot of diverse cool graphics
Thank you so much
Thanks so much for this. I’ve always rode a 8.25 but as I’m starting to learn tricks I wonder if I need a smaller board because the 8.25 is the full width of my foot.
What size shoe do you wear?
@@michaelcoco nah thats 8.5 i ride 8.475 and i wear from size 7 to 8 and 8.25 feels too Small it's all about preference like tactics say
Hello, this is extremely helpful - the video & your responses, thank you. Looking at 7.75 & 8” boards on your site for small street skating/flip tricks. I’ve ridden a 7.5” cruiser the past 4 months, & got used to it somewhat. 5’5” fully grown female, 6 in mens, small frame. Wondering if the 8 is best based on my size? Thank you!
I'm sure an 8.0 deck will work great for you! 🛹👍 - Tim
@@tacticsboardshop Thanks so much for responding; 8” it is!
Wait.. at 56secs that's klamath falls skate park.. that's the first time I've seen our park in any video
Iam a size 9 and a half to 10 shoes and 6ft 2 what board would you recommend I’ve decided on 8 what do you think Glad I came across this video very helpful thankyou
My shoe size is 11.5 what size of skate board should i need?
So I've been skating a 8.5 with a size 11 foot for about awhile now and I think it's a good size I'm wondering if I should go to a 8.75 or stay I like street skating and all sorts but I think a 8.5 might just be where I need to be anyway just wondering what you guys would think about this 11 sized shoe with a 8.5 to small or big enough
My problem with decks is the length of the boards, I don’t feel comfortable riding a 7.2-7.5 because of the width, so I want to move to a 8.1, but most of 8.1 boards are too long for me, so it’s really hard to Ollie, is there something I can do, or should I just get used to it?
So, I’m 43 and my 7 year old daughter is staring to get into skating. She heard that I used to skate- I was so-so, rode street mainly and Upland Pipeline, oh, roughly 25 years ago. I had a Schmitt Stix Lucero 2 and then a Caballero. I’ve seen Black Label had released a modern version of the classic Lucero Joker 1 and the width is 8.8. That seems tiny compared to what I road in the 80s. I’m 5’8”, wear a 9.5 shoe and about 155. Since I’ll be relearning everything, what do y’all think? Good starting board for a nostalgic dad that is old and wants to ride with his daughter? And for the teen with angst responder, yes, I am already withering away and dying.
I'm sure that Black Label would work great! Here's some more options if you're wanting a rush of nostalgia! 🤙 - Tim www.tactics.com/skateboard-decks/old-school
Perfect. Size 12 foot 8.25 board.
I want a bigger deck (I use a 8.25) because I want my flip tricks to be better
If the board is up to my hip is it good to buy
lol tim with tactics had the tictac deck!
How or where can I get a used board because my parents think that buying a new one it’s just a waste of money. My snapped and I don’t have anything to skate now.
Yo @Skate Tactics, how to measure shaped deck or 80s board?
Super helpful video! I am a beginner skater with US men size 7 shoes considering either a 7.75 board with steep kick and mellow concave vs a 8.0 board with full concave. Which would you recommend for basic tricks and casual street skating/cruising?
Either of those sizes will work fine! Whichever one you choose you'll get used to, but you can always try out other size decks to figure out what you like. 👍 - Tim
Hey, great video man.
I’m thinking of starting to skate again. I’m 14 soon 15 and I have men shoe size 11.5. What board do you think would fit me for park and flat riding but also to jump stairs?
With an 11.5 shoe, and you want to skate parks and jump down stairs, you'll probably be comfy on a deck around 8.25 - 8.625. 👍 - Tim
@@tacticsboardshop alright thanks Tim. I’ll probably get an 8.375 board and some 149 Indys. Do you think I will be able to also do some tech riding with that deck or is it to big and heavy?
@@limpish1138 Yep, you should be able to do any type of skating with that set up. 👍 Cheers! - Tim
I need some opinion on the cruiser build that I want to build. I know that it's better to use an 8.5 deck but will it be okay to use an 8.4 deck for a cruiser board?
That's totally fine. You can use any size/shape deck for a cruiser. My cruiser board is only 8.0 and looks like a stack of oreo cookies! 😆🛹👍- Tim
Please reply... Is darkstar a good skateboard?
8.25 is too small for me and wear size from 7 to 8 in mens shoe size with 149s Indys Pro Model Reynold Hollows and 8.475 Baker Baca Deck 53 mm Spitfire Formula 4 Shake Junt Original Green/Yellow Shake Junt Hardware and Bronsons G3 Orange Bearings 👍
I’m 15, 6’2 and wear a size US MENS 13 shoe. I currently ride an 8.5 deck but I feel I’ll need a wider deck because I’m still growing (
nah your good i ride a 8.375 and I'm a 13 you'll be fine
This helped with the deck but if i’m buying an 8.0 deck what size wheels should i use
The wheel size will up to you, but anything in the 52 - 55 range should work great. Here's some more info if you're still deciding on the wheels. Cheers! - Tim czcams.com/video/Hjtr9liRYSI/video.html

Hi I'm 18 I have size 4.5 feet and I'm 5,4 not to sure what skateboard size to get and also don't no what my shoes size would be in men's.
Hello, I am 14 years old and I'm 5 foot and my shoe size is 6 (men). I was just wondering what would be the perfect board for me and my size. I know it depends on me but I prefer an expert to help me choose a board for me. But if I had to choose a board I will probably prefer a smaller board because I'm pretty small and I don't like doing tricks and riding around with a really big board. Other than that I would like just to know what you would prefer for my size. Thank you in advance!
With a size 6 shoe, you'd probably be comfy on a board in the 7.75 - 8.0 range. 👍 Cheers! - Tim
i’m a size 16 shoe what deck size do you recommend
hi i’m a size 7.5 in men’s shoes and 5”6, i want to learn how to skate but i’m still unsure what size would be good for me to learn on
I'd say an 8.0 would be perfect for ya! 😎 - Tim
Hey, nice vídeo! I am 6'4 and 235 pounds and 13 shoes size.. Should I get and 8.5 or 9.0 deck?
Both would work, the 8.5 will be a little easier to flip and do tricks, but the 9.0 will be stronger. You'd still be able to do tricks on the 9.0 but it would just be a little more effort. If you're just cruising though, then either will work fine. Cheers! - Tim
Hello I recently bought a new skateboard that is the same width as my other skateboard but for some reason it' s longer. I was wondering if you can give me an explanation for this.
Decks of the same width don't always have the same proportions, some can have longer or shorter wheelbases, and some can have longer or stubbier noses and tails. Different skaters have different preferences for wheelbase and nose/tail length, so they make all sorts of different shapes and proportions. It's just up to the manufacturer to decide what dimensions they want for each batch of boards. I hope that clears it up a little! - Tim
So I used to skate in my early teens on crappy generic boards but I'm in my thirties now and want to try skating again but I'm not sure what to get. I'm thinking of getting an 8.5 element complete board setup cause above 8.5 the selection gets slim and I don't want to spend a lot
That element complete should work just fine for you. 👍
Hello! I'm 19 and I weight about 140ish at 5'5 and wear an 8.5 to a 9. Do you think an 8 would be a better bet ? It's a little tricky trying out boards in quarantine right now haha. Thanks!
8.0 is definitely a solid choice because it gives you enough standing platform without being too wide and heavy. Have fun out there! - Tim
@@tacticsboardshop Thank you so much for your reply! Just ordered my board today!
Hello! I wear a 7 women's shoesize, and I'm about 5'1 - 5'3 tall. what would be the perfect size for me? I bought an 8-inch deck, would that work or should I get a smaller one?
The 8 inch board that you got should work great! Have fun out there! 🛹👍 - Tim
hi i have shoe size 5 (women us size) and im almost 14 y/o. is 7 75 a good size for me? i'm going to buy it online since every store is closed because of the quarantine. that's also gonna be my first skateboard, so i dont know exactly what size skateboard good is for me.
7.5 to 7.75 would probably be a good size for you. 7.75 might be better since you're almost 14 and might grow into it. Stay safe out there! - Tim
hope u answered this... so i have size 12 or maybe 11 1/2 what deck the best for me :( thanks man
You'll probably be comfortable on a board around 8.375 - 8.5 👍
So then I'd have to get a 6.5 board? I'm an adult but height 4'11 and a size 3 in shoes so im practically still a kids size.
Or can I use a 7" board? Planning to buy myself a skateboard but still unsure of what size to choose.
Ive owned a few before as a child but its been a while. Just want to get back into it.
You could just go for the 7 - 7.5 if you want to. I'm sure you'll be able to handle it because you'll have more leg strength than a kid. But the suggestions in this video are just simple suggestions, you could honestly just skate whatever you wanted. Having a huge board is hard to flip, but if you're just going to be riding around then the size won't really matter. Cheers! - Tim
Im thinking of getting an 8.25 but I have 139 indy trucks. Do I have to get bigger trucks or can I use my current trucks im riding on my 8 board?
You can definitely keep riding your Indy 139 (8.0) trucks on an 8.25 deck. The deck will hang 0.125" past the wheels on each side but it'll be barely noticeable. Cheers! - Tim
hey! so i’m about to buy a skateboard and i’m a us size 8 (or uk size 6) and i’m 5’4/5’5 and 13 years old, and i’m wondering if i should get an 8? i’m not sure if that’s too big tho.
8.0 is a good starting point for most people and I don't think it will be too big for you. 👍 Even if it feels a little big when you start, since you're 13 you'll grow into it. There's no exact science in choosing your first board size because you haven't figured out what you like yet, so you gotta just start somewhere! Have fun out there! - Tim
Hi, my shoe size is 7 (woman) and i'm 5,4. Would it be good if I bought a 7.75 skateboard?
Yep! That sounds like a good size! 👌
@@tacticsboardshop would 7.5 be too small?
@@aleka6775 7.5 is kind of small, but if you have small feet, then it'll be no problem. If your shoe size is bigger than Women's 8, then you might want a slightly bigger board than 7.5. But really it all boils down to personal preference, so you could just get a deck that makes you stoked and you'll get used to whatever size board your riding. Cheers! - Tim
Is there much of a difference between 7.75 and 8
One question guidelines if I'm side 10 to 12 Wich one do I use as a skabord side for me
With size 10-12 shoes, you might want a board around the 8.5 - 8.75 range. But of course it's all personal preference, so just go with whatever feels right. I'd suggest going to a skate shop (Come into Tactics if you live in Oregon!😄) and try standing on different board sizes and feel out what seems right under your feet. I hope that helps! Cheers! - Tim
I skate a scram 10.625 deck on street also
More power to ya! 🤘
I wear a size 7.5 in men’s and a size 8” board is too big for me so I think I’ll buy a 7.5
I am 12 years old, shoe size 7, and I’m 5’3 I’m new to skateboarding but I want to learn how to do flip tricks and jump down gaps so what size deck would be good for me.
You'd probably be comfy on a board between 7.75 - 8.0 👍 - Tim
I’m 13yrs old 5’ 5” in height and a 7-8 in mens, I have a 8.6” creature board is that okay to skate in or is it too big? Like should I be fine or would there be some problems?
It might feel a little big for flip tricks at first, but if you want to skate it, you'll eventually get used to it and be just fine. Skateboard size is all about personal preference. 👍 - Tim
I'm going to try to get back into skating after like 15 years and can't decide if I should go 8.0 or 8.5 I've never been any good at flip tricks and may just cruise alot but who knows 🤷♂️
Go with the 8.5, if you're just going to be primarily cruising, then having a bigger standing platform will be nice and comfy. 👍 - Tim
@@tacticsboardshop perfect 👌 I thought that was a good call since I barely leave the ground and I haven't been on a board in so long, thanks Tim
i have a question i am 5'2 and my shoe size is 7.5 which one should i use 7.75 or 8.0?
Either one will work great! You'll get used to whichever deck size you choose. If you're still growing, an 8.0 might be better because you'll grow into it. Also, there's generally a wider selection of 8.0 decks, and it might be nice to have some more variety to choose from. Just go with your gut! 👍 - Tim
When should I get a new skateboard?
When your old one breaks or is worn out. There is no right or wrong time to replace your deck.
hey i’m 13, size 7 and 5’3/5’4. i just bought a size 8 skateboard and i don’t know if it was the right choice. i’m mostly just trying to learn tricks so do you think i should’ve got a 7.75 or 8?
You could honestly go with either. If you go with the 8 you won't have to worry about sizing up when your feet get bigger. But it's all about personal preference. 👍 - Tim
im 12, 5’2 and my shoe size is 6 in women’s, could you give me a size recommendation ?
You'll probably be comfy on a board around 7.75 👍 - Tim
I bought my first board it’s a 8.38 and honestly I think I should go down to 8.25
Ya I got a question my shoe size is 10 what skateboard 🛹 do I get the 8 or 8.5 ?? Any one ?
Bro I’m only a kid and I’m already growing out of my 8 and a half size shoes I got recently
Hi I'm about 5 foot 2 inches and a size 6.5 in men's and I use a size 8 deck is that good or bad?
It's not bad at all! If you're used to the size and you enjoy skating it, then that's all that matters. Cheers! 👍 - Tim
I’m a 7.5 in women’s which would be a 5.5 - 6 in men’s what size board would you suggest?
You'd probably cozy on a board between 7.5 - 8.0 inches. But don't stress too hard on it because you'll get used to whatever size you decide on. Cheers! - Tim
hey ik this is late but im thinking of getting into skateboarding im 14 and 4'11-5'0 i weigh 50kg (110 pounds) andd size 6/6.5 in womens shoes (UK) im not sure if i should get a 7.75 or a 7.5
I'd say go with the 7.75. 👍
Hello I'm 5'3 and I wear size 9 shoe mens would 7.75 or 8.125 be good for me
With a size 9 shoe, you'd probably be better off with the 8.125 👍 - Tim
What size trucks and wheels u recommended for me if i use 8 inch deck? thankyou
For the wheels, that's going to depend what you want to do on the board and how you want it to ride. If you want to do tricks get some hard wheels (99a - 101a) between 52 - 56mm. If you're just wanting a smooth ride and tricks aren't a priority, then get soft cruiser wheels of any size. As for the trucks, get ones that match the width of your deck. Here's a quick list of truck brands and sizes that will work with your 8.0 deck. I hope this helped! Cheers! - Tim

Independent 139
Thunder 147
Venture 5.2
ACE 33

What wheelbase is good for a 7.75 deck?
A 7.75 deck is probably going to have a wheelbase between 13.875 - 14.125, but you'll see all kinds of different dimensions. 👍
I wear size 12 or 13 shoes, so should I get an 8.75" deck?
Edit: Should probably clarify I wear 12 or 13 in US men's. I'm also new to skating, almost 15 years old, and am about 6 feet tall. I don't know if the last bit helps...

What size trucks should I get for an 8.25 deck
Your trucks should match the width of your deck or be as close as possible. Lots of truck companies make trucks with an 8.25 axle, so that's what I'd recommend.
www.tactics.com/trucks/rs-8.25+axle
I'm a beginner and i wear a size 10 in womens. What size do you reccomend? (I'm like 5'8)
You'll probably be really comfy on any board between 7.875 - 8.25. But that's just a quick suggestion, don't be afraid to try out different sizes to figure out what works best for you. 👍 - Tim
Im a size 6 1/2
But where I live THERE ARE NOOO SKATEBOARD SHOPS!
so I ordered one off amazon and it’s ok...
But it seems a bit small...
It’s 6 inches wide and I’m not sure how long it is....
Do you have any advice??
Should I send it back and get a bigger one? Should I keep it??
PLEASE HELPPP
A 6 inch wide skateboard is very small. You should probably get a board that's at least 7.5 inches wide with your shoe size. You could probably go up to 8.0 and be fine. It's up to you if you want to keep your mini board or not, but a bigger board will definitely be easier to learn on. Cheers! - Tim
hi! im 12yo, 5'2 with a size 6.5 in men sizing would a 7.75 be too small or just right?
That'll probably feel just about right. 👍
I currently have an 8.5 with 149 thunders. There is this 8.12 deck that i really like but i dont wanna buy new trucks. Would there be anything bad with using these trucks with this smaller deck and wide wheels?
The trucks are going to stick out a little more than is ideal, but you should be just fine. Just be careful not to accidently kick your wheels when you push. 👍 - Tim
