Most of the people who are shitting on you for not doing a proper time attack have probably never done a proper time attack on the Nurburgring in their life. You had amazing lines for your first ever run on the Nurburgring and you weren't trying to act like you owned the road. Being fast on a track doesn't make you a good driver, knowing your limits and keeping yourself and others safety in mind is what makes you a good driver, and you check those boxes.

One of my bucket list items is to fly to Germany and drive The Ring. I have never done a track day in real life, but I do a lot of VR racing at home on Assetto Corsa. When I drive the Tourist track online, one of my favorite things to do is find someone that has a similar pace as me and just sit behind them the whole lap. I know every corner, rise, fall, and bump of the track in the game, so it is so exhilarating trying to drive a good lap while staying behind someone that could brake a little sooner than expected, or let up at a weird time and having to react with it. Awesome video showing what I love to do in VR in real life.
My dream one day is to do a track day at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, especially if it was in a 1000 hp GTR! I’ve always enjoyed driving it in racing games like Forza and GT, but it’d be a different story driving it in person! Also, I really like the sound of the straight cut gears on that GTR, that whine is like nothing else! Cheers!

90% of the numb nuts that make negative comments have never been to Germany never mind the ring,I have done 2 laps on my 675 triumph around there and boy it’s scary.
Sadly people just want to either see crashes or worlds fastest laps lol Sometimes people forget we go to these places to experience the fun element. Plus the car has to get me home over 1500 miles after lol
Not bad.. Try nailing (instead of hovering) the accelerator exactly halfway around the bend(use red and white curd to judge where half way is...) .. The gtr can hold it. On the next laps move the chosen marker one or two earlier in the bend. Also, breaking should be on and off, not hovering.. GG 👌

No disrespect to the gtr kings of course: I know they barely went past half throttle, however, Car recording engine sounds goes from 1000 rpms to 8000 rpms in 2 3rds of a sec! Please enlight me!?
This is why im not interested in heavy high horsepower cars. Takes all the fun out of driving. Corners is where all the fun is but when you weigh the same as a bus youre always off the throttle in turns.

I don't know if I'm missing out on some joke, but to me it looks like the video has been manipulated to exaggerate the speed of the GT-Rs. What leads me to that conclusion? 1. Unless the blue M4 in front has 1000 HP itself (very unlikely), they should have been past him at Aremberg corner(the right before foxhole) at the latest. 2. The general relative speed to other vehicles, which they passed on the straights, seems to not be as much faster as you would expect given the stated power. 3. The behaviour of the filming vehicle over the bumps at high speeds implies that it either has massive downforce comparable to an F1 car, or the video rolls faster in the acceleration zones. Also some of the stated speeds during the corners look a bit off to me, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt, given that I have never driven a GT-R around the Ring in real life, only in sims like Assetto Corsa, and I also don't know the specific specs of suspension, tires and brakes. Don't get me wrong - I still enjoyed the video a lot. Looks and sounds great and since it's not a "bragging video" as in "look at the laptime I can do in my 1000 HP Gtr" I don't mind it at all. I'm also far from calling the owner a liar. The car could really have 1000hp, how am I supposed to know? I just want so say that either every car visible in this clip has around 700 to 1000hp, or the video was manipulated. As I said, I still enjoyed it and I admire the editing work that went into making this video look and sound like it does - very realistic. Definitely deserves a thumbs up for that alone 👍. Also no complaints about the driving behavior. You did absolutely everything right. I appreciate the effort gone into the comment so will answer as best I can 👍 The footage is direct uploaded from a garmin catalyst so no editing is actually done what so ever to the clip itself. This is a tourist day, which means heavy traffic and no need to go absolutely flat out. 90% of this lap the car isn’t even at 50% throttle as there is no need to as this was just a fun lap, if you want to see it at 100% watch my other videos on local tracks to myself. As someone who loves sim racing myself, never compare what you have done on your sim to the real thing. The Nurburgring is terrifying and so easy to ruin your pride and joy. No need to go 10/10’s. @@jackmalpass9968 Thanks for the response. I believe you. I rewatched it a couple times now and I think that maybe it was the camera angle that tricked me a bit. Since it's on the left side it's further away from the vehicles you pass, which takes a good portion of the visible speed difference away. Also in my defence - I was up very late last night watching F1. Maybe that's an explanation too 😅.
When I hear GTR I think off R32 R33 and R34. The Legendary cards. A R35 GTR is the worst GTR to date. A Porsche 911 Turbo S with a driver that knows the track would smoke those R35's.

Same here, I play AC all the time on the nordschleife. i myself would kill to have a go there and take a lap in real life.
At those speeds, any overtaking of the BM or other GTR is dangerous unless on the long straight. Always love your car more than your thrills..
