Who wins the 2024 Bowerman mile and how fast will they run?
Kerr goes 3:45 for the win. You heard it here first
Jakob Ingebrigsten goes 3:45 for the win. You heard it hear first
Yared Nuguse goes 3:45 for the win. You heard it here first
Yall forgetting about wightman
Kessler
Thanks for putting “preview” in the title so I don’t keep getting excited thinking someone just did something great
Was surprised too, the admin usually likes to create doubt for more clicks
Drives me crazy, 90% of the videos are useless
it doesn't buddy, look again

@@PButler-1 Jakob Ingebrigtsen VS. Josh Kerr! || 2024 Prefontaine Classic
I’m going for Ingebrigsten, he just seems unbeatable when healthy and especially during paced races.
I believe he runs 3:45.12 and Kerr runs a 3:45.88
Ingebrigsten Kerr

Nuguse 3:44.9
@@liberty5069not a bad shout tbf
Kerr is getting old, nigguse is a chaser not a pacer
Kerr ran a 8 flat 2 mile plus winning the 3k gold medal (both indoors by the way), as well as running a 1:45 800. I don't know man, Kerr seems pretty strong to me. Meanwhile Jakob hasn't raced since what, last years prefontaine classic is what TRP said?
I think the race will be won in under 3m45 and potentially a world record.
I’ll be there tomorrow, can’t wait!!!
See you there!!!
You're sooo lucky!!
Who here after Josh Kerr won ?
Based on what Kerr has done so far this year I have to give him the edge. However, there are a handful of guys who can pull off the win. Can't wait for this one.
Trp this is what we need that transition from Junior showcase to the Being senior and now dominating in the 1500m is wild ...nobody would have thought they would be icons...
I think it will be Nuguse . . . His workouts have been insane.
It's on BBC Sport page btw for those in UK wanting to watch
Favor Ashe just hit 9.94 LEGAL(+1.4 m/s wind). NCAAs are heating up!
Damn
This video is about the mile
@@nealkelly9757 This channel is about Track and Field
Sure. She's clean
@@jimmynicholson876 "she?"
Can’t wait. Amazing field.😊
Outstanding Video !
Doing so many 5ks this day got me keen on the middle distances so imma watch out for this race for sure. Thanks for this video
Gotta give the edge to Kerr. World record indoors, world champion indoors, 1:45 800…calling 3:45 mile. New UK record
HELLLL NO
Watch, Nuguse could be the spoiler.....
Nooo
Yes, truly anybody dismissing him is insane and mentally poor..
@@did.it.myself9022 I think your insane for doubting Jacob
Jakob is the greatest middle distance runner of this generation. Others would like to be in that position. There is no rivalry. But this is Jakob’s first race after an injury, and he is still building form for the Olympics. It is therefore unlikely that Jakob will drop the field like he did last year and the year before.
Stop lying
spot on
Can’t wait for this race!!!
Kerr has to be the warm favourite with Nuguse close behind. A fully fit and fresh Ingebrigtsen would go close to the WR - sub 3:43 is definitely possible for him (based on last year’s results). But I doubt if he’s in his best shape right now, given his injury going in 2024. At the Olympics that is likely to be a different story - an extra 2 ½ months uninterrupted training should see him return to full fitness and speed. Watch for 17 year old Cameron Myers to go sub 3:50.
Friends, the only thing that is certain...is that NOTHING is certain. But what a mouth-watering race ahead!
A fully fit any of them would break the world record easy if the conditions are right. Idk why so many people think the mile record is nearly impossible to beat. Especially when converting their metric mile times to the mile or other performances. It's a perfect example of Platos cave.
@@thundergun933 Definitely think Ingebrigtsen can go 3:25 1500M 3:42 mile come late July this year. Kerr quite possible too - but after the Eugene result it appears to me Ingebrigtsen has more improvement in him than Kerr. Nuguse may nudge these two WRs too. The others I can't see being that close to these three in Paris and before.
Sew you in Eugene! Cannot wait!
If you sew me I'll sue you
One thing is for sure, Kerr is getting a huge mile pb!
Well that's one way to win. Nobody said you can't superman it.
Hopefully the hype surrounding Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Josh Kerr will calm down if neither of them wins this race.
Why so negative sir? Share the excitement with us!
I love josh kerr but Jacob is bitter anytime he looses he gives excuses
@@KeruboOnkobathey’re 12-2 it ain’t even close 😂
@@Lachlan_McDougall but Kerr will beat him
Jakob lost one race last year. The race he became second while he was sick.
Ollie Hoare!!!
There, I said it and you heard it here first...
Lol
honestly, he shows a lot of potential. Definitely an underdog, but ALSO definitely has a chance
What would you know Shane😂. Oh hang on, this is awkward..... actually I reckon you might be right.
Ingebrigtsen is the GOAT 🐐. That's it.
Of what
0:46 Elzan Bibic was a huge talent. He has run some solid times in recent years.
Hopefully they are all healthy and fit. Going to be fun to watch.
All the times Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Josh Kerr have raced each other (finals only):
1. Bydgoszcz 2016: 9. Jakob Ingebrigtsen 3:51.09, 10. Josh Kerr 3:51.23
2. Doha 2019: 4. Jakob Ingebrigtsen 3:31.70, 6. Josh Kerr 3:32.52
3. Tokyo 2021: 1. Jakob Ingebrigtsen 3:28.32, 3. Josh Kerr 3:29.05
4. Eugene 2022: 2. Jakob Ingebrigtsen 3:29.47, 5. Josh Kerr 3:30.60
5. Lausanne 2022: 1. Jakob Ingebrigtsen 3:29.05, 4. Josh Kerr 3:32.28
6. Zurich 2022: 1. Jakob Ingebrigtsen 3:29.02, 6. Josh Kerr 3:31.85
7. Oslo 2023: 1. Jakob Ingebrigtsen 3:27.95, 9. Josh Kerr 3:30.07
8. Lausanne 2023: 1. Jakob Ingebrigtsen 3:28.72, 3. Josh Kerr 3:29.64
9. Budapest 2023: 1. Josh Kerr 3:29.38, 2. Jakob Ingebrigtsen 3:29.65
Great video TRP. Many thanks. My money is on Jakob but frankly, he might need a race of two under his belt before he hits top form. So, anything can happen. Plus, with a field stacked the way it is, there are possibly too many "stars" and maybe no one gets a chance to "settle" and relax, in order to run the perfect race. Everyone will be tripping over themselves to get their desired race position and it might just backfire. Anyway, things are building nicely for the Olympics. Cheers.
I believe Kerr will break the British record. As to who will win on the day. I will wait until after the race.
All the best folks.
Bro this mile is gonna be insane
Some crazy kickers in this race. If it is not a time trial, 8 guys could win.
Where can I watch this live?
The build-up to this seems more like boxing than running. Can't wait.
Spare a thought for Yared Nuguse last year, when he ran the 4th fastest Mile ever. Yet, he was 0.24s behind Ingebrbrgtsen. Unfortunately, most people will remember and hype Ingebrigtsen, without mentioning that Nuguse was a tiny fraction of a second behind him.
IM SO HYPED LETS GOOOOO JOSH KERR GETTING THIS DUB
Hell yeh!!. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
John Banister is probably the most iconic mile race of all time, but my favorite race has got to be El Guerrouj world record race.
finally not clickbait
Well done Kerr. Lets see you and Jakob in Rome at the EC this year.
Where can I Watch the Race?
Good to see George Beamish in the mile, good chance for him to go sub 3:50, stick with the pace!
First non bot
How do we watch this event???
HYPE IS HERE
Josh is definitely in better shape, but raw talent and experience. I am going with Jakob. (Also have a gut feeling that Yared Nuguse is gonna snatch it) Go back to this comment after the race.
At 2.40 omitted was the Bannister Vs Landy miracle mile of 1953.
Very true. That was a great race. Thanks for reminding me.
Anyone know how I can watch it
This dudes first lap is my 400m best
I never broke 60 seconds 🙁but hey, I was a high jumper...
Blindfolded Jakob 🎉
Hobbs Kessler will probably surprise everyone and win it!
Depends if they have pacemakers.
Hopefully Beamish or THE GOOSE pips them both 😌
This far from a 2 horse race! Hobbs, Yared, Hocker, Wightman, Ollie, and even old George. And, I am leaving off guys, I’m sure!
is the bowerman 1600 or 1609?
At what time this is gonna take place?
23:52 tonight (GMT+2)
Hopefully Yared Nuguse wins and breaks the world record !
Is Nuguse not running it this year? I was hoping he would get the world record.
You forgot to mention Ollie Hoare.
Difference was in 2016 that kerr was 18 or 19 and jakob 15
cram is goin down this weekend :)
Watch out for the Beamish finish
Nostradamus will take you there!
Because Nostradamus looks at all the men and women on the track he knew way back then that those two would confront each other with all of the chips on the table.
11, 11,11 is what he said. Now that my friends is attention to details.
Little wonder that everyone in athletics calls Nostradamus to ask him where he sees them in the Chrystal Ball.
World record is in danger 👀
I’m thinking, Steve Kerr, second place anybody’s guess. This is the best mile talent. The world has ever seen.
Is that Josh's brother? He's not running!
The ponytail guy has a good kick
“To the gills” - TRP
Jakob wins in 3:44.73
I don’t think this one will be as fast as last year
Lmao
Here I am tryna break 4:40
You listed the splits wrong for last year's race. 1:51.8 @ 800 followed by 2:46.3 @ 1200 is a 54.5 split, not 55.5. Jakob ran a negative split, but just barely. The fast 3rd lap may have taken his kick.
Better field than will be in the Olympic Finals.
It's time to break the WR, hopefully the pacer will be fast like last year...
But my doubt is that it's early in the season, in a month it'd have been more possible
With a pace maker I think Jakob will win... He has more trouble when the race is tactical (i.e. slower in the first half) and the finishing kick is in play. Ironically the reason why Jakob is dangerous in the 5000, his 1500 work means in a tactical race he can finish faster than most specialist 5000m runners... So the runners in the 5000 need to tire Jakob with a fast pace upfront.
По моему есть ошибка в сплите Якоба 1200м не 246.3, так бежал Эль Герруж , когда установил мировой рекорд 32600, а 247.3, Якоб на этом отрезке проигрывал Эль Герружа у которого было 346.9
Splits given at 7:43 in the video seem totally wrong.
Winning time will be 3:46.75
Easy win for Ollie hoare going to clock a 3:42 and keep under threshy hr while being blindfolded.
Its a media thing, only.
Jacob will win it again.
Agreed
Where will the event be streamed?
Peacock
@@TotalRunningProductions Thank you!
Looks like it's on the BBC Sport page too
Looks like these dudes started shooting epo or something
Easy 10sec PR for Kessler coming
Cameron Myers just SMASHED THE WORLD BEST UNDER 17 IN THIS RACE. by a whopping 2.2 seconds. erasing putting Ingebrigsten's record. all the news should be on that, and then about how Kerr won the race.
It was a great race by him. He deserves attention. It is worth noting that even though Ingebrigtsen ran 3:52.28 in the mile as a 17-year old, he also ran 3:31.18 in the 1500m at age 17, which equals a 3:47.92 mile.
Kerr for the win in 3.45
Ingebrigtsen last 10 races: 1st place 7 times
Kerr last 10 races: 1st place 2 times
YET, you say Kerr has the advantage????? LMFFFAAAOOO 🤦♂️👍
Kerr has a 10 second slower PB over the 1 mile... 🤣🤦♂️🤨
the winner will break the world record or be extremely close
No mention of Lamecha Girma? OK
Ingebrigsten will be fine for the win. Sub 3:46. Kerr couldn't match that even if he dreamt it. Go Ingbristen!
Greatest mile of all time = Bannisters sub4.
They just won’t go out in 2:46 for 1200 in late may as a season opener only jakob would front run…and we have no idea where he is fitness wise
I have hobbs kessler for my underdog win.
Well Well Well kerr won
I wouldn't root for anyone other than Nuguse, but Ingebrigtsen takes over Kerr imo
Kerr: 3:46.2
The greatest mile was the 3:51:3 on July 17, 1966. Not only did Jim Ryan win the race he broke the existing W.R. by 2.3 seconds at age 19. He also won the race by 8 seconds. Jim Ryan held the world record for eight years and was the last American to hold the record. His last 220 was just a shade over 28 seconds.
The following year Jim lowered the record to 3:51.1 in a race that saw 8 runners finish under 4:00 minutes. Still to me watching that 1966 race was one of the most exciting sporting events I ever saw.
Forgot to mention the track was a cinder track and he was wearing old leather track spikes and had to tape two large blisters on his feet. And he was basically running by himself.
Put super shoes on his feet on these new tracks and his 351 and it is still Ryuns record.
Jakob takes it. Easily.
Yared nuguse
WR goes down, Jakob reigns supreme.
Am I delusional, you bet I am. C’mon Jakob!
3:41.84
It must be very difficult to find pace makers who can run faster than these guys for 2 or 3 laps..
Cooper tear winning this ----->
My money is on Nuguse.
There's no escaping the reality of whatever performances and times that the Kenyan Athletes are coming up with, should be taken with a truck load of suspicion and salt.
They should have received an International competition ban, years ago.
That said, the Bowerman Mile, should be something to remember and hopefully, that WR will be rewritten.
