- I love intermittent fasting and have been eating mostly OMAD since June 2020. Even though OMAD is my standard, I love being flexible in my schedule and will at times have variations to keep things interesting. I have lost weight, got into a healthy weight range for my height and maintained the weight loss for over 3 years! I love to share the flexibility and peace offered through intermittent fasting.

Fasting triggers are very individual. I was fasting years before I heard of clean fasting. I never get triggered with flavoured drinks. I like fruit infusion teas and will make each 20 oz drink different in the day. I like the Celestial Seasonings and Yogi teas. I also have mio and such in some of my water during the day and find that I prefer caramel flavoured coffee iced. Honestly, I don’t “get” clean fasting. I like all my flavoured beverages weak, so that may be a factor. This means one tea bag in 20 oz of water, just a quick squirt of mio in the same 20 oz mug. I only have one, maybe two coffee a day and I have them both with 2oz of coffee cream (Jason Fung approved). It’s about getting through the fast and this is my crutch. I started my fasting lifestyle in 2018 and I’m happy with my dirty fasting. God bless.

I drink flavored water during my fast, and they do not bother me, and I mean the cheap dollar flavored sparkling water from Aldi 😂 I have still been able to lose over 22 pounds!
Mrs. Jackie THANK YOU!!!!! Just yesterday, literally yesterday I broke down and bought some Le Croix sparkling water and drunk it. It helped me sooo much and I was able to make it through. I felt bad because I remembered that video you did about no flavors. I was like I’m going to use this as needed because that was alright. I’m down 30lbs in 3 months so far! Now I feel that much better about trying out the sparkling water 😊

Yes!! You cannot know what triggers you unless you know what a clean fast feels like. I still mostly clean fast, but would be lying if I said I stuck to it 100% still.

I agree! 2 years in I also use flavored "lacroix" -type drinks but not things like diet drinks-for exactly the same reasons :-)
I have a 1 piece of Werther’s sugar free candy with my coffee every morning. It does not make me hungry but it makes me enjoy my coffee for just 5 calories.
Also, I'm heading to Alaska next Saturday and my WONDERFUL son just told me he has stocked up on plain Topo Chico! My favorite!!

I used to scoff at the clean fast concept, but decided to try after hearing better explanations from you and Gin.
I found it’s sooooo much more comfortable to omit herbal teas. Love yogi detox tea but I end up feeling wobbly after having a big jar. Dave Asprey’s danger coffee (mineralized) leaves me feeling wonderful and totally solid. Delicious consumed black. Oddly it seems flavored sparkling waters are fine, and I very much enjoy them (flavored only, not those newer ones that are loaded with strange sweeteners).
I’m at a healthy body weight and have many years of fasting experience, for reference.
I 100% think clean fasting is "best"! But that doesn't mean I stick to it all day, every day.
Thank you for this video! I'm an almost-3- year faster and haven't tried flavor- essenced sparkling water to see how that affects me. I tried Diet Coke once and it made me hungry. I'm trying limoncello La Croix today though!

@FastingFoodie I went on a La Croix water tasting spree...had about 4 different flavors before I broke my fast at 2 pm at a bridal shower. I wasn't even hungry. It was funny because when I told my husband, he asked if I'd been drinking alcohol. I was so excited he thought I must have had "a few"... lol But the only response was joy. Thanks again!🥰

So true Jackie, I have been fasting for a bit over 2 years now, and just recently started experiencing flavored seltzer water during my fast, and I am not triggered to hunger. Diet Coke does trigger me though.
Same!! I am sure MUCH more is added to diet sodas to get all the flavors.
Love this method! But I have to ask this… heavy cream in the black coffee?? I have to know if it’s ok. lol.
I wanna be 4 years in!! I'm still in the plain club soda world. I am wondering if a soda stream type machine would be more cost effective. I buy 1 liter bottles at Kroger for 99 cents. And I got through about 2 a day in this Utah heat!
I should use a soda stream, but I drink 1/$.89 a day plain from ALDI usually at most.

Diet drinks have stuff in them that will make u hungry ( dr Mindys chanel) zevia drinks are clean and great (has a diet dr pepper version)

We all choose what is best for our own bodies, but I fast to keep my insulin levels low and sweet flavors start a cephalic phase insulin response even if it’s not felt , our bodies taste sweet and start the insulin pumping.
I understand (seeing and thinking of food can also create a cephalic phase insulin response). I still think clean fasting is best (and say that in the video), but I am honest that I don't always follow that. I think it's okay to make adjustments - especially as I'm in maintenance and a strong faster. As an enthusiast who encourages people to find balance and joy in the lifestyle it would be dishonest if I didn't share even the imperfections (if you want to call it that).
@@FastingFoodie That’s fair, and I absolutely appreciate your honesty! I’m just so protective of the clean fast, and being a leader in a big fasting group it’s challenging for me to have to navigate mixed messages.

Thanks Jackie for stressing that we are all individuals. I’ve always had cream in my 1 cup of coffee since the beginning of my fasting lifestyle 9 months ago. (I’m -80 down with another 55lbs to my goal weight) It’s never made me hungry. I did ‘clean fast’ for 1 week a few months ago and felt punished and deprived. Love your channel.
