      That was Kay Burley making that comment. She's a vile person and that comment was completely unnecessary, especially in that setting. There's a lot you can criticise Cameron for without having to resort to cheap shots about his weight.
      I agree with you about the respect we have for this government. The line is literally on the floor on how low they can go and they just keep digging.

      If these were normal times, I'd say it's simply because there are no acting Tory MPs who are up to the job. But an era in which Patel can be Home Secretary, Raab can be Foreign Secretary, Hancock can be Health Secretary and Truss can be... I can hardly even say it... Prime Minister, is about as far from normal as it's possible to get.

    Lord Home became FS under Heath in 1970 having previously served as PM from 63-64 - but it is rare

      FS seems to be the most reasonable slot for a former PM in government. Done in Sweden as well, Carl Bildt was (PM 91-94, and FS 06-14.

      @@hamzanocap In 2021 Johnson made Malcolm Offord a life peer so he could be appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Scotland. Offord had finished fifth where he stood for election that year. He couldnt even make it as a list MSP.

    Speak as I find, I had the opportunity to visit number 10 downing street whilst David Cameron was PM. There were well over 150 guests invited from all over UK to celebrate the Covenant Fund which Cameron set up so that Banks could hand back monies they had illegally taken from people.
    He gave a speech, no notes and he knew where everyone in that room was from and why they had been invited. There is more than just intelligence there, a genuine interest for people.
    Bring him back as PM!

      They evidently do, also what do you mean exactly? They are the ones in Parliament elected by the people (The Prime-Minister is not elected.) and have a mandate for five years. They command a majority in the Parliament so they have the lay of the land. Simple, also as has been pointed out it has been done before as recently as 14 years ago.
