- Measure momentum.
The metrics we have to measure success aren't wrong - they're just incomplete.

"What you have yet to learn is that there are players who never put up great stats. but you keep them around because they make the people around them better" - Donna Paulsen (Suits, Season 8)
Season 8 sucked though :(
Donna was the greatest
such as paladins in rpg games... not a great warrior but buffs the whole team
Roberto Firmino
maybe that means stats are incomplete measurements of value.
“I actually want to know!...have I offered the world something of value!”
Hit me right where I live Simon.
Thank you.
OMG...you actually put into words what I have witnessed and found mind boggling for years...you ROCK Simon! Keep going..YOU are making a difference!
Good
I hit the like button when he said "it's call bullsh*t!" Because all these books coming out with claim title of 'best selling' oh please, we know how hard it took for you to do that
the way he said,"you better keep that person on your team",shows the intensity of the truth.
This is where you care about the “ What “ => target .
And the
“How” => the values that get you there.
I have worked in some of the largest organizations in India - one in the Fortune 500 list, and I found this message on "Trust" to be so relevant! Trust and Integrity are more important for sustainable success and overall team morale than just hollow business success parameters.
Thank you, Simon Sinek for reinforcing this belief.
Valuable insights! I've left organizations that were more concerned with "looking good" rather than actually "being good". All the perceptual BS gets us nothing but unsustainable, short-term gains and self-delusion.
In the eastern mind, performance and personal integrity is one and the same, that was how leaders were picked in the ancient times. In the western mind, you can performa at work and be totally be moral-less person and it is accepted. Just an interesting thought. Thanks for sharing Simon.
You nailed it again Simon! I cannot get enough of your videos. A true messaging magicien. A five stars experience, +1 thumbs up momentum 👍
I've experienced this in my life on a number of occasions. So many companies focus on the numbers without focusing on steady momentum. Amazing share
There are so many values in your talks. These stuff should have been taught in schools.
loving the content Simon, and the clarity of your perspective. Learning a lot - thankyou !!
Simon's talk is always thought-provoking!
Thank you for the knowledge,
thank you for the passion,
thank you for the beauty,
thank you for the struggles,
Thank you from human kind!
Simon, thank you for everything you're doing to inspire people. You are making the world a better place.
Wonderful. Having the proper metrics is a critical aspect to an organization.
I love Simon Sinek. I often listen to many of his speeches. One of the best mentor and a great personality.
we are so thankful for living in a world with Simon Sinek in it

Fighting the same situation at this moment. Appreciate the clarity
Love this perspective of performance measuring. 😊 you consistently find these insights that we can get behind again and again. Thanks for being you.
I just wanted to say that this entire answer is phenomenal. I cannot even pick my favourite part.
Man love this guy! Something's very interesting is there to learn from this single video rather than hitting something bluntly
Straight up words for the wise! So bold Simon! I love you!
Dear Simon, I just want to say that you have really hit the nail on the coffin. I have watched and listened to many of your videos and I believe you are right. The metrics are screwed and it breaks our societies and our humanity in the long run. I will aspire to preach your message to others and to incorporate it in myself. The world needs better leaders. All the best!
Simon. You are always. Spot on and the way you. Put things are crisp and. Clear
Awesome Simon, as always.
I really liked the Trust Vs Relationship concept.
And of course, I always admired your thought - Momentum is the key in any aspect of life.
Great work Simon.
Thank you Simon, you really hit the nail on the head when it comes to measuring success. It is consistency. I love the videos and interviews you are making. Keep up the great work, and keep going. You always have my support.
Simon for President! Yeah! ... You're Awesome! True humble Leader
Love the analogies, insightful wisdom, and brutal honesty.
Simply awesome . Such an important insight and you have added it so beautifully . God bless you Simon Sinek sir …world needs more of you 🙏👍
You can trust Simon when it comes to leadership. God bless you more...
This lecture is pure solid. Thank u Simon Sinek for this wonderful concept. You truly are amazing.❤️❤️❤️
Your honesty is truly refreshing! I am profoundly inspired by you. You are a true mentor to me and to so many, I want to sincerely and simply thank you.
Thank you for the inspiration Mr. Sinek. You truly is a gift to mankind. May your teachings be read by all our managers.(:
@simon sinek: you have inspired me like you have others. Love your concepts and thought processes.
This man gives me clarity. And yes, I bought your book for myself and my girlfriend’s dad. It was amazing! Momentum is so critical, and I actually get what you’re saying: we need to find more comprehensive measures for ideal long term performance. Your modern wisdom is so telling, thank you Simon! I want to give my best to the world, and your videos help me articulate why. Thank you, and I hope to meet you some day!
Have been a big fan of Simon and quoted him often in my presentations.
This is really great and I'm personally very glad that my organization has both the 'what' and the 'how' on its appraisal system just like the way Simon described.
Simon, you are the BEST! The most real and true leader everrrrrrr!!!
Totally need a full version of every video out there of you.
My day just can't start without you, Simon! You're making me a better person and of course, this world a better place to live in!
Wish I could have learned and implemented your theories way sooner.
Hope you go all the far places and your words to reach every single person on this planet!!!
The Problem of the trust,
The momentum of Performance,
The metrics of Success
That were the topic that i really need, Thanks Simon !
I couldn't have better explanation than that, just wow
Oh my god! That was amazing Sinek. Low Performance High Trust worthy > High Performance Low trust worthy.
You're right Simon. Business generally has toxic metrics for team members. There are those out there who get it. The Seals example is very helpful. Trust is huge.
Success is getting to the place we ultimately want to be. That will be personal to you and should not be defined by anyone else.
Very well-stated. The principles that matter and ends DON'T justify means. In short, ethics and integrity is all that matters because they bring consistency and momentum.
OMG, With a simple graph, I understood clearly a professional experience I had previously. Managers in general should watch that video, every company especially the start ups which are so keen to go on IPO and make quick money at all costs ... Thank you from France. 🙏
I’m binging on your videos Simon! Thank you for teaching me to be a better person and entrepreneur
One of the most amazing speech there Simon + the humor.
Thank you for the video. I always hear that momentum is important for success in many motivational video and you put that to a new perspective for me.
God...
I LOVE this man.
Wow, so glad they brought the pad out. Because the visual really drove the point home. Also, Simon has a really beautiful mind.
Yeah! I can't imagine how he was going to do the "visual thing" he said.
One of my favorites videos from you Simon!
I absolutely agree wt you Mr Simon!
Awesome! Simon is awesome, tells you what is really infront of you but you aren't seeing it.
Simon, you are so right! But, how can it change? Keep talking about it-eventually someone who has the authority to bring about change, will get it and apply these principles!!
Simon Sinek speaks wisdom. This is really how it should have always been and how companies should function. It all begins with one step. It's finally out there. Thank you for this Simon.
Great ! I love all these momentums ! Thank you, Simon!
This man is the real gentleman
Sir, I really love the topics you tell about .
Such a brilliant concept simple yet sophisticated. Thank you Simon 🤠👍
Such a great answer that went beyond the question . Great ideas , thank you .
It's fitting that Workday, one of the best places to work for, is hosting this talk
True words Simon - keep talking to the world about this important issue! High Trust rules all :)
You are so good at explain something!!
5:05 onward is 3 minutes of pure gold
Let me add.. Success is not measured by other people's point of view or opinion. Success is measured by how well satisfied you are now, and how well you are doing compared to 5 or more years ago.
I love it! Trust is the name of the game.
Is there a full version of this talk on CZcams?
I‘m waiting for it
Following
Agreed, would love to hear the full version!
Eitan Loi me too!
please any one of you update this thread when you find it, because ill do the same for you ;)
You are my bro. I love your perspective.
Amazing lesson indeed, thank you Simon for all the efforts you put in so that you come up with such videos and content, following you from Uganda, Africa
I grew up in banking when deregulation kicked in - we incentivized and based job performance on outcome numbers - exactly what Simon describes here. And guess what - corruption runs rampant with these types of systems. He is exactly on target here. the perfect opposite - weight loss, another lesson in my life. Can't cheat here mostly. You can set goals till the cows come home but to really lose the weight, you need to be doing the "behaviors" consistently day after day to truly see results.
Insightful. Long term question answered. Thank you
When you have been given two options to choose from to make your decision right there and then, remember that there is always a third option and thats the option you chose for truly being you and believing on your instinct’s.
Thank you for this Simon
This man and I are kindred spirit. I am just seeing this for the first time but i've always felt it was right. I always tell my soldiers that i am not interested in that you accomplish the mission but how did you do it. They think i'm crazy.
Absolute hero this guy
Thank you so much for this video. May we have the whole thing please.
I love your content. Thank you very much!
It's really great to be a trustable person 👍
Perfect example of a Medium Performer and High Trusting individual is Roberto Firmino from Liverpool Football Club. He makes others look so good.
Scarily true I’ve left at least 2 organisation because dreadful behaviour was rewarded over integrity, nurturing talent and speaking the truth. I’m now self employed and don’t miss the corporate bollocks one bit
What you said is 100% true and correct.but the irony is that most firms, companies resort to results only as they are in hurry!!!!!...One cannot change the mindset however one tries....its a bitter truth....
I've Always thought that way...good to know I'm not crazy 😁
The problem arises when people have enough money anyway and are motivated by other things. In my view, a bonus should be icing on the cake.
I remember a manager of mine wayyyyy back saying if you want to be good at your job you need 2/3 of the following qualities: Be good at your job (quality of work- not implying being "bad" is acceptable but competent to excellent), be consistent (on time, overtime etc.), be personable (trust, likable, teamwork etc.). It's damn near impossible to find someone perfect in all three but 2/3 is pretty suitable- 1/3 no one will want to work with you 2/3 you have something to offer 3/3- You're probably a workaholic on the fast-pass lane to Burnoutsburg.
Spot on Simon, love it!
Great concept Simon, thank you. 🤗👍
This is one of the thing that actually very obvious but we don't do it right
Holy shit, the most down to earth piece of advice I've ever heard. Amazing!
I am subscribed , hiding in this appreciative congregation
Thank you!
This is the complete opposite of how Sprint operates. All they care about is if you hit sales metrics, they don't care how you obtain them. They don't care about who you step on to get it, and in return they reward you. Its despicable. Whoever can fudge their metrics the best will eventually become management, and they will in turn teach their team to fudge metrics. They'll parade one of the highest earners who I found suspect and guess what? After an investigation, was caught committing sales fraud but yet they still parade him to everyone as who we should all aspire to be. People are so afraid of given the absolute that metrics MUST be hit that they'll do every low brow action to obtain them.
Walking prospects who aren't buying items to create higher margins. Sliding subscriptions under the table without the client knowing. "reduce and replacing" without disclosing it to the customer isn't sales, its just playing the system, and in the end, its just lying.
The company is near collapse and years of practicing these horrible metric management has destroyed a 100 yr old company in the past 20 years.
He nails it again
When he says "Go to the team and say 'point to the a-hole'" everyone immediately pictured someone.
Mind shifting content, I love this ❤️👏🔥
I measure success in shortterm emotional balance and longterm happyness and peace.
I value your perspective

As inspiring as always. Thanks for sharing!
