Believe it or not, when we come to the US, we start acting like we dont know what germs are. We eat yogurt all the time, and are well aware of making it and the bacteria that turn milk into yogurt, but talk to any Indian about the bacteria in yogurt, they go ewwww ... But yes sprite is a little wasted on this drink, club soda may have worked better IMHO, but we also used to get something called Paneer (not the cheese - but its rose flavored sweetened soda) that may have fit well instead of sprite.
