  • This device is new to the market having just been released a few weeks ago. The Zeus snoring device works by stimulating the nerves and muscles of the tongue forcing it to move forward. This opens up the airway and stops snoring and sleep apnoea.
In this video I explain how the Zeus device works, how to use it properly, the evidence that it works and who I think it will work for most.
At the end of the video I also provide a Discount Code which provides a 25% discount and explain how to be in the draw to win a free device.
To buy the device - please go to their website - zeussleep.co.uk/
Also I will be giving away an ExciteOSA once I reach 1000 subscribers to my newsletter. Please sign up for my newsletter below.

Hello from America. I’m so happy to have found you on CZcams!! I am very frustrated with my sleep apnea diagnosis here in the U.S. After THREE different pulmonary physicians here, no one can help me to try another source other than the cpap machine. It definitely helps but it is a constant struggle to use it. And unfortunately here, only a “pulmonologist” treats sleep apnea which of course is strictly related to pharmaceuticals (for insurance to help pay for the equipment and doctors visits.)
Even dentist here will not see me to try a dental device and IF they did, I have to pay $1,000! Ridiculous!
I hope to be able to at least try this device, as well as the other device I saw on your other video. (I registered for the newsletter and I am a subscriber.)
Thank you and look forward to your reaching the 100k subscribers!!!

I bought a camera for like 30 to 45 bucks and recorded me while I slept. I used the eufy 2k indoor camera, that DOENST require a home base. There are two versions of it. Results were that my apneas were heavily position based. Virtually none on my right side, bad on my left, and really bad on my back. Just putting this out there because if you have sleep apnea you can use this to see if you have more of a positional issue. You can then purchase things that are actually really cheap to help you with apnea, like a pillow, backpack, or a sleep wedge thing that can force you to sleep on your sides instead of back, etc. I simply filled up a backpack with a ton of clothes, to keep me off my back. Also to confirm I got an old sleep study sent to me and it also revealed that I need twice the pressure on my back as my bad side. Also if your sleep apnea is worse on your back Im pretty sure that means its a tongue or jaw issue, meaning if you have trouble following asleep with a cpap on, a MAD device(moves jaw forward) alone could get rid of most of your apneas, if not all of them, since you cant make your tongue smaller necessarily but you can move your jaw out of its way, which could be the whole issue to begin with. I do have an overbite which means my jaw is not in the correct position. Its pushed back, the lower part is pushed back, which is likely the cause of my apneas, and many peoples.

Ordered with your discount, thanks. I snore very loudly on my back, but mostly sleep on my side and still snore ( quietly ..according to your excellent app). But I always wake up with a very dry mouth and often dehydrated and with a headache. I know there’s possibly other factors that also affect this but, mouth breathing all night has got to contribute. Fingers crossed this will work and then me and the wife might be able to sleep in the same bed again and I’ll wake up refreshed for a change.

I would even have my upper and lower jaw moved forward if it corrected it and the reviews are very good on that type of surgery. Vik is that possible on the nhs???I definitely have a tongue problem. What do you advise is the best thing to try?? I have mild sleep apnea but it’s affecting the quality of my life as I’m so fatigued and exhausted, the apneas give me debilitating migraines. I’m so exhausted, tired and zero energy, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea a month ago but it’s 5 months to be called by the sleep clinic then it’s only a phone consultation. I have depression and I’m struggling to cope with life and I feel so low so much so, I tried taking my own life a few yrs ago. I need help? What advice vik can you give me please?

@@juliaandrewjuju I can relate but I'm going on 23 YEARS with this problem! You heard that right. Have tried CPAP several times over the years with ZERO results. Imagine 23 years of feeling this way. All I get are doctor appointments, more sleep tests, etc only to then have a mask thrown at me and with a "good luck to you" type attitude. I'm normal weight, normal neck size, don't snore, don't wake up gasping for breath, yet I cannot get though a single day as a normal person or as I used to when I was in my 20's. Basically almost homebound roughly 3-4 days per week due to fatigue. After a nap, however, I can get by and do ok about half my days/life. My 1 hour nap feels better than my 8+ hours "asleep" at night. WHY?? Not good for someone in his 50's. NOBODY has told me WHY I have this problem, NOBODY has pinpointed WHERE or even IF I have an obstruction, NOBODY has much to say about my supposed "mixed" apneas with central apneas. NOBODY knows why my 1 hour nap feels better than my 8 hours at night. WHERE IS THE FIX FOR THIS?? WHERE IS A DOCTOR WHO KNOWS MORE THAN JUST GIVING A SLEEP TEST THEN RECOMMENDING A MACHINE? My sleep results always come back as "severe sleep apnea" with and AHI of roughly 37.0. Tired of being tired for the last 2+ decades! Rant over. :(

Hi! been using this back and forth in a month or so. First of all I will say that the company has excellent service and support and have been e-mailing back and forth. Second, you can have beard and use it, just shave the beard on the throat and keep it aligned with the jaw, thats how all influencers say one should have it anyway ;) Second for me I have quite small throath with some loose skin so when using it without an antisnoring strap (I designed my own since those buying was not suited and feeling comfty for me) it looses connection through the night and then no electricity. So for those simmilar as me, consider to use some kind of neckstrap, preferably thin and elastic to not put to much pressure on the device but keeping it in place. With that said I have mild sleep aponea, gone through surgery and have a custom made mad. I use the mad when using Zeus since it brings forward my throath/neck a bit that gives me some extra space for the device to be fitted, and for those nights when I dont have nose gognestion and it stays in place it works quite well actually. So as Vik says if your problems are mainly when sleeping on the back and you dont have to much stuffy nose it for sure is worth a try. Just be carfull with the fitting and do as Vik says ;) and also if needed use a chinstrap, mine is built out of part of face slimmer since they are thinner and you can acess the device easy when you are using it. if you have a big throath and no beard, go ahead, its worth it! :D

I have Inspire implant but cannot get accustomed the continuous stimulations. I have since revert to using CPAP. My understanding before implant surgery was that device would detect respiratory pattern (because it has lead(s) running down to bottom of rib cage for this purpose) and stimulate ONLY when obstruction event is detected, not continuously regardless of detection. I think this design is flawed and should be changed if possible. The zeus device seems to operate same way as inspire. Besides the cost, I don’t see that it will help others like me who cannot tolerate the constant stimulation. Zeus may still help many I think considering the surgical cost of inspire implantation.

Vik, I have Oromandibular Dystonia and Sleep Apnea. I also use a CPAP machine. My mouth and tongue have muscle contractions where my mouth opens which are very difficult to control. I have used a Knightsbridge chin guard, which works better than all of the other chin guards I've used, but it's still not working as the velcro isn't strong enough and doesn't keep my mouth from opening. I am looking for a better solution. I'm trying a mouth guard that's molded to my mouth, but not sure if it's going to work. Do you have any suggestions on how to keep my mouth closed since I get dry mouth and my OD tends to happen when I sleep, which wakes me up. Please help!! Thank you.

Dear Dr. Vik, I have had OSA for 2 decades. I’ve worn every kind of mask and still fight them and my chin strap every night. I hate using my cpap so much that I don’t use it at all. Even when I was using it regularly I didn’t wake up the next morning feeling rested. I was still tired throughout the day.
At one point I was down to 145lbs, I’m 5’6” and my sleep apnea was just as bad. So losing weight didn’t help and now I’m back up to 175lb.
I’m not a candidate for the dental device because I already have issues with my jaws and teeth.
A review I read said specifically that Zeus is not for people with sleep apnea but there is an implant with the electrical impulses for OSA patients if the Zeus works the same, then what’s the difference?
I’m so frustrated. I want to have surgery but don’t have the money or insurance. Any help you can give would be great, thanks.

@@VikVeerENTSurgeon Thanks, I've ordered one and will let you know how it goes! I'll check if it's possible to use the gel pads for more than one day which would lower the cost a lot. A mouthguard works really well for me and I may end up alternating it with that.

      @d-rex8223 Před 2 lety +10

I received the Zeus device and have tried it for a couple of nights. I must say it's very sleek and nicely designed with smart packaging.
There are 7 or 8 levels and the instructions say to turn it up until you can feel something and then turn it down one level. It's best to do this in front of a mirror so you can see the flashing light which tells you what level you're on.
The first night I couldn't feel anything at all so left it at maximum but I still didn't feel it so I wasn't convinced it was working at all. I've no idea why this was as the next night I could actually feel it, a pulsing gentle tingling/pricking where the electrodes were attached.
The "gel pads" are sticky to attach to your skin and have small circular pads of conductive gel over the electrodes. They do stick quite well but only for one night. I think they probably are reusable as the gel itself should last longer but you would have to attach the device using surgical tape. I tried it and it does attach securely that way and the electrodes still work.
In terms of results, I monitor and record snoring overnight using an app (Snoreclock) and it did seem to have a small effect on snoring loudness but not on duration. It's difficult to be conclusive after such a short trial but I can say that the £25 adjustable Mandibular Advancement Device I've been using is way more effective for me as it virtually eliminates snoring completely. On the other hand, the mouthguard is a bit uncomfortable whereas the Zeus is very light and unintrusive.
I'm going to carry on experimenting with it, perhaps moving it slightly to see if it works better. IMO, it's worth trying in conjunction with the exercises you've recommended, especially for anyone who can't tolerate a mandibular advancement device.

Can you theoretically work out why I have sleep apnea? I keep saying the problem is mainly at the back of my nose but they have given me a brace for the second time (the first from 10 years ago didn’t fit in my mouth anymore). It has helped a little - I don’t wake myself up so much from my snoring - but I still get nightmares that I am suffocating, in fact they are quite possibly worse as I have woken up a couple of times just seconds before it feels like I am dying. My brace keeps coming off when I sleep though the doctor told me it was on firmly so I am thinking perhaps I force my mouth open to try to get more air in seeing as my nose is completely blocked. They are ordering me a more tightly fitting brace anyway but if my theory is right I am scared I won’t be able to get any air in at all during sleep. They have looked in my nose and though there is nothing blocking (when I am upright during the day) they do say I have very tiny nose holes. My husband reckons I should put tubes down my nose at night but I think this would be uncomfortable and unsafe.

Hi Vik, I bought this device after watching your review ( I live in the US so I had a relative send it out from the UK)
I do appreciate your videos and the generous advice you give to the public. I know you posted this review in good faith as you couldn't try it yourself, but this device is very disappointing indeed. I can't say it's made any difference at all. All that seems to happen is that the electrodes pulse against the skin so that it feels like a mild burn sensation. This doesn't translate through to the musculature in the tongue in any way at all, so it makes no practical difference at all. Basically it seems like a nice idea but as the electrical current doesn't go through to the muscles it doesn't work.
I am 148lbs male with a neck size of 17" so it's not like I have a lot of cutaneous tissue there to increase electrical resistance. I can't recommend anyone buys this (and they won't take refunds either) BTW I can't see this getting FDA approval in its current form.

I'm really sorry it didn't work for you. I have had other people inform me that it didn't work for them. That was the reason I set up that poll on my community tab - I think it still says that 38% find it useful for them. Those aren't great odds, but if it is working for some people I figure it must have some merit.
Again I'm sorry it didn't work for you, I hope you find something that does work.

By “sends an electric signal” I assume you just mean it is shooting electricity into our body? Hopefully it is a relatively small amount. Does it do that the entire time it is on? If so, one important difference from the implant devices is, those detect when you begin snoring, and only then send the signal. You are not receiving an unnatural electric signal 8 hours a night for the rest of your life. I’m concerned this could eventually give people throat cancer or have some other side effect. Sort of like how having a phone in your pocket all the time can give you cancer because of the heat it produces.
