- This is a quick and dirty guide to maximizing your Squad graphics and video settings. Hopefully it helps people squeeze a few more frames per second out of their rig. Squad is now DLSS compatible, so if you have an Nvidia GeForce RTX GPU, you can now enable that setting and get a decent boost from your system.

Yeah I've had to go back and jiggle my scope DLSS/DLAA settings. Make sure to cap your scope FPS. I've had to tune mine a bit. You can do it in game. I'm still tinkering so don't have concrete settings to copy/paste for you.
I just wanted to say this video nearly doubled my FPS in Squad and I'm just shocked! Thank you so much, I'm also playing with a RTX 2070 Super, i7-10700k, 16gb of ram in case anyone with my same specs is curious. Thank you again dude!!

UPDATE: If you're experiencing crashes, try turning off Frame Generation and using just regular DLSS / DLAA mode. Just rumors for now, but it might be a driver issue or a DX12 interaction, so keep tabs on future fixes. The Squad discord is generally a pretty awful place, but the #support tab is fantastic.

@@notjunior5079 nothing special. but as a new pc gamer switching from console this perf is fine for me (i'll buy later a gaming PC for sure). i know there are way better specs with higher fps. anyway i own an ASUS TUF gaming laptop: CPU AMD Ryzen 7/7735, GPU Nvidia Geforce 4050, 32 GB RAM. avg fps 1080p 100-110 on high, 1440p 80-90 fps. perfect after PS5 max 60 fps....

I got rid of stutters on certain maps by lowering particle quality from ultra to high
The game has a desastrous optimization, with a rtx 4060 and a ryzen 7 i was getting between 35 and 60 fps using only a 25% of the graphic card and cpu, with this config i was able to get between 65 (on the most stressful moments) and 90 and at last the game is playable.

Any DLSS mode expect OFF, caused tremendous blurriness in ADS scope. I tried everything and resolution uscaling, still same issue

Even though I have an RTX 40 Series, I haven't been able to activate frame generation. Do you know if the feature is disabled in the game or can anyone use it?
Great Video, I will definitely try your dlss tip. I only have one question about the fresh install. Is there a difference between a fresh install and the "clear game cache" option? I always believed that this option does a full reset of the game and it always helped me to better my performance after every big update. It's okay if you don't know the answer. Thx again for your work on this video ^^
I know clearing my cache helped immensely. Considering it hard-reboot the game and reset everything to default, I don’t believe there’s a difference. However I had a “no input device” bug that was only fixed after I cleared cache.
Note: directX12 is turned on by default in the new update. I don’t know what it does, but my PC doesn’t like it! If you’re having issues turn it off first.
I've gotta correct you on the DLSS explanation. DLSS as its name states is Deep-Learning Super-Sampling which translates to "Smart Algorithms, More Pixels". As it stands now, DLSS is starting to mean a bunch of things because corporate tech marketing sucks. The main thing is algorithms taking a lower res game and making it look like a higher res one(DLSS). Then there is taking a high res game and just making it look the same res but still using the algorithms(DLAA). Then there is frame generation which is kinda weird. It's using the alrogithms to figure out what the every other frame should look like. It makes things smoother but there is a latency penalty. The process takes some time, which means a smoother image, but you're seeing it later than you would have without FG.

Changed smth now some objects is flickering xd.
Disabling AA "fixes it" but causes lines and some other weird issue and the "flicker" is there when i move instead.
As for motion blur 0,03-0,09 is nice.
Using a 4060 TI have tested this out.

But I have heard that only the rtx 40 series graphics cards have DLFR (the frame generation part of dlss).
CTD with 7.0 and DLSS... One crash my computer just went black screen and fans went 100% had to hard-reset :/

My framerate is about 110-93 on version 6.0
Version 7.0 with Dlss fps went up to 167-175. I got a 175Hz monitor.

is there any fix to the terrible scope quality with dlss enabled? cant seem to find one. i get 140fps with upscale mode set to NVIDADLSS but dlss mode off (forced off) when i set Prioritize Clarity In Scopes. Its just not worth running dlss if the game looks like a 2001 fps potato anytime you look through any scope
With dlss enabled you can only use prioritize aa in scopes, the work around is setting the scope sharpness too 150-200 depending on what works for you but it will never look like the clarity setting. dlss has to be disabled for clarity in scopes to work.
Hey man i keep getting this unreal 4 engine crash in the middle of matches and the report said my GPU crashed when i have a gerforce RTX 4060TI 16GB with the ryzen 5 7600 and i have the default settings expect for everything on medium graphics. Any tips?
I think I remember hearing that's a clear cache and verify files / or reinstall game thing. Something about corrupt files.
And if u have too old cpu like a 4th gen intel audio quality on low and run fine

You better be subscribed. I'm out of my depth but - it's not a CPU heavy game, doesn't utilize mullti-threading dont quote me. This game's issues are mostly GPU bottlenecks. - Dunno what 3d vcache is, my 4 year old GPU can handle it while recording. - I've only played with Nvidia, can't make that call.
@@col.kernel Thanks for the reply. I'll continue to research and I may conduct my own testing. 3D V-cache is a component of some Ryzen 5000 and 7000 series CPUs that can increase game performance. The more cache a CPU has the greater the buffer and depending how a game leverages the workload on the CPU, this can result in higher FPS and less stuttering. Flight Simulator 2020 for example, loves 3D V-cache and there's a huge performance boost.
Idk why, but when I enable DLSS antialiasing on scopes is automatically enabled, and it gives me trouble with sight.
It's so foggy I can't see everything, so what do you suggest? Reinstall the game ?

Works amazing on regular Squad but does anyone else get very low FPS when playing Galactic Contention? With these settings applied I'll get 30-40 FPS on a high end PC :/ It must be just what playing such a huge mod does.. but if anyone knows a fix I'd highly appreciate it!
modded servers are fucking your fps a lot.
to be honest, Squad is ultra unoptimized game and most of it's ingame graphic settings doesn't make any difference to FPS, for example I an AMD user, by enabling FSR 2.0(outdated frame generation tool as well since amd released fsr 3.1) literally 0 fps increase, it only fucks the antialiasing. The game was smoother before full release

When i enter a match i get 110 fps which i capped it at and after a while it drops to 80-90 and opening the map lowers it to around 60-70.
My pc doesnt turn into an oven but it certainly turns into an airplane.
Whenever I change my setting, the FPS remains the same jumping between 50 to 70 even tho I have RTX 4060 and Ryzen 7 series

Unfortunately no. FSR2 is the AMD version of DLSS and it's over my head. You should check out the Squad discord and go to the #support channel, there are good threads on it.

You're not the only one with recurring crashes, I would go check out the Squad discord and look in the #support section, there's mods there that help people with specific issues, and you can search for solutions to other similar problems.@@kimaichelmann9530
i use to play this game on max settings at a solid 60-70FPS and now i average 40 fps on the lowest settings. Wtf happened to this game.

This game only uses a single CPU thread. A newer Intel i3 will greatly outperform an older 6 core CPU every single time.. (RIP my i5 9400)

I was running pretty stable on dx11, I swapped to Dx12 and it all went to shit, cant handle fps drop less contact. only dx11 without dlss works better. I guess having a good PC doesnt let me play with best settings. atrocious

You need Nvidia 30 or 40 series to be able to use it. Otherwise try the AMD one which works for anything.
