Cheslin Kolbe is a South African winger. One of the fastest and skillful players ever. Speed runs in his family. His cousin is defending Olympic and 400m World Record Holder , Wayde Van Niekerk
“Runs”
@@ilyaaztikiI see what you did there 👌🤣 "Runs" more like zoomies on tik! ☺️
What a taltent for sure. And on the front they have Even Etzebeth, a pure rugby animal.
And Arendse.
As a rugby plying South African, we are the most passionate Rugby Nation in the world-4 x World Champions...do I need to say more???
Rugby players are solid muscle and extremely fast and agile at the same time. They can be 120kg, 6′ 8″ tall and still do 100m sprint in 10-11 seconds.
Or 80kg 5'9 and fast af

The commentary language you heard was isiXhosa. Native to the coastal parts of SA.
Check out these players from the Springboks (all die hard rugby vids).
Siya Kolisi (Captain)
Eben Etzebeth (Enforcer)
Pieter Steph du Toit (Tackle machine)
Cheslin Kolbe (Most agile athlete on earth)
Kurt-Lee Arendse (Scoring machine)
Canan Moodie (Natural athlete)
Cobus Reinach (Human Ferrari)
There's many more, but that's a start for you lads.🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
😂 Human Ferrari got me 😂
And Faf the giant slayer
Ox Niche Scrum Master
I see all the names except one:
Tendai Mtawarira (Beast)
They are humble and relentless. The world can learn much from our Springboks🎉
The huddle you saw is called a scrum. You can research that if you haven't already.
American football is essentially descended from rugby, and your baseball from cricket. So that's why there are similarities.
They dive over the line because they're mostly not looking back while running and don't know who might be coming in to tackle them from behind.
The faster, smaller, more slender body types tend to play on the wings because they're generally faster and better sprinters. The bigger, taller, hulkier types tend to play in the forward line because they're essentially the battering rams in scrums. But all rugby players are extremely muscled, strong and agile, no matter their body size or type.
The players in the scrum who are generally the strongest and heaviest are called the loosehead prop and the tighthead prop. They're the front line of the scrum and it takes extreme core strength to stay in that huddled position to push back the collective weight of the opposing scrum. They practice for hours to develop this particular strength. Props' bodies generally take the most punishment in rugby so their position is a bit more challenging to play and if I'm not mistaken, they get paid more. I could be wrong on that last part, though.
Check out Beast Mtawarira and Os Du Randt, the latter of which whose name/nickname is literally "Ox."
Isn't ox the name of a different player? Ox nche.
@@acelovesdiyschristopher7023 Ox / Bull is English for the Afrikaans word Os.
@@merindabreytenbach85 thanks thats not what I was asking but thank u anyway
There was an "Os" Du Randt back in 2007, now there is an "Ox" Nche, who has been described as Os's successor@@acelovesdiyschristopher7023
3:09, that was 19 year old debutant Canan Moodie. And the clicking language is Xhosa (also used as the Wakandan language 😅)
Rugby play is continuous. There's no down system like American football. Play stops when the ball goes out of bounds or someone commits an infringement. You don't have to dive when you score. The ball just has to be touched down. But since this automatically happens when you dive, a lot of players do it. Also it looks cool.
Also it’s a Springbok thing to dive like that
As a retired player from SA, to dive when scoring isn't required, BUT it is much harder to tackle a person flying through the air than someone running. Hence the dive. Playing at school level, diving is discouraged, because it could lead to injury.
Nr 11 left wing nr 14 right wing both wear scrum caps people get confused by them. The both play left or right wing and do swap. Nr 6 is Siya Kolisi Bok Captain. Cheslin Kolbe 11 or 14. Curt-lee Arendse 11 or 14 but we do have so many players that we do change depending on the team we play. The language you heard was Xhosa 1 of the 12 official languages for SA
The clicking sound you heard is isiXhosa, one of the 12 official languages we have in South Africa
The part you asked for is called a scrum. 8 of the forwards(the bigger guys) push whilst they roll the ball in. The opposition can go for the ball but is unluckily as the nine will roll it a bit closer to there own side. But yeah you are watch Goats there and also the number 6 from SA is the captain Siya Kolisi.
South Africa are the Springsboks 😅🇿🇦 it's our national animal
The body types of players are dependent on the positions they play. I recommend you react to a video on how rugby is played. The more you see, the more you'll know who is suited what
No you don’t need to dive , you just need to put the ball on the ground without it dropping foward . Diving sometimes is the safer option Incase someone might kick it out of your hands ect .
Most of these boys grew up on farms wrestling Brahman bulls. Brahman is a bovine type in South Africa. You need to have strong legs for this. Others grew up in arid areas and had to chase Cheetahs, hence the speed. That click sound language is Xhosa. Our boys are brutal. We are a nation of diverse languages and culture, but Rugby brings us together.
One thing that all top rugby teams have in common is that rugby is part of the culture, it is not just a sport. Kids will start playing the moment they are old enough to run around and catch a ball.
Checkout South African school boy rugby
Sometimes its Kurt-Lee Adrendse or Cheslin Kolbe ( the short guys) playing at jersey no. 11 or jersey no.14,or it is Makazole Mapimpi or Moodie (the tall guys). In the video you guys watched.
Thanks for sharing. Keep well from Durban, South Africa 🏉🏆🌊🏄♂️🇿🇦
Hi from Cape Town South Africa.....tyanks for airing this 😅😅
its always funny watching Americans discover that there are other sports in the world besides american football
Lol the great deception🤣
When you asked about the numbers, they have 15 players on for around 40 mins, (first half) labeled 1-15,the replacements, for when someone gets injured or is playing kinda bad, is usually 21-28 as not all 15 players get taken off the field, hope that helps
Like Trevor Noah said you don't play rugby you suffer rugby
No, not really. Suffering rugby only comes if you are not fully committed. Once you get over the fear of getting hurt, it becomes really enjoyable to play, in spite of the odd bruise.
Yes player's do change numbers depending on the position that they play in
If you not know, the number six is our captain, called Siya Kolisi
Number 6 is the captain that won 2world cups under him.
It's called a scrum 2 gain yards 2 score over the line
The language was Xhosa
The numbers represent the position they play
Naah the rules state "A try is scored when the ball is grounded over the opponents' goal-line in the in-goal area"... Diving is just easier when you have speed and momentum then actually slowing down and bending over to touch it down
At 04:59 is called a "ball carry". One player has the ball and all the other players are tanking him so that he can carry the ball. As long as the ball is in a player's hands he can "carry" the ball to score some ground. In that case, to score a try.
You're right. Some have changed numbers. Like Kolbe at some point is 11 or 14
nothing but bangas 💪💪🔥🔥
If you want to learn more about rugby the best channel I've seen on here is Couch Rugby, explains everything brilliantly from basics to different facets of the game to the different positions he really does a good job of mixing a basic understanding with the complexities of rugby!
Please Check out the springboks wingers
Injuries happen all the time in rugby. Collarbones, arms, knees etc. Training for forwards (the big guys in front of scrum) is mostly strengthening backs, necks and legs. The backs are the guys with speed - who run, kick goals etc. the small guys basically
Rugby is like NFL without all the glamor and body armor.
To score a try (4 points) the ball has to be grounded anywhere over the opposition's goal line.
Each try is complimented with a conversion kick between and over the goal posts (3 points).
Transgressions are punishable with penalty kicks over the goalposts worth an immediate 3 points, or the team can choose to kick the ball over the touchline to gain ground.
Hope this info helps
More Springboks videos please 🇿🇦
Thry are our pride in this country!!!!
Each number is a position on the team. Forwards (Big slow dudes) which is 1 to 8. and the backline (Mix sized fast dudes) which is 9 to 15.
The thing where they do the crouching and push each other is called a scrum the scrum half is the person who throws the ball in the bottom and the scrummers must push it to there side so the scrum half can past to the backline players HOPES THAT HELPED
You don't have to dive, sometimes they do it because they have to and sometimes they just do it for fun.
Diet is beef and biltong, drink brandewyn and mampoer . Guys from the Cape eat snoek and harders and drink vaaljapie and witblits.
No team in sport has more spirit than South Africa.
No team.
I come from South Africa
the huddle is called a scrum and the reason you have NFL is because rugby was taken to usa in 1880s and the government changed the game to suit their political agenda. but its still based on rugby union code hence the similarities the union consists of 120 ish countries usa was kicked out of RWC 2023 by Namibia which used to be part of south west Africa, a country in 90s which is now South Africa. usa is number 20ish on the world rugby union rankings springboks has been dominating the last 30 years since 1995, started 1987 first WC. our pride and joy springbok team, nelson Mandela was the first black man to lift the web ellis trophy to the world and today a black captain lifted that trophy twice in succession back to back. our country are teaching the world and especially usa on race relations. we've moved quickly in 28 years and the world can see this apartheid state hasn't broken the dreams of the people #strongertogether is our springbok slogan uniting our country under 1 sport #loverugby our warriors! fierce just like our people. amen
11:55 The numbers change every team selection
not magic johnson 😹😹😹 7:18 they’re saying the pass was magical
5:33 that’s a tackle 😹😭 spear shout out edge
2:54 The game doesn't stop only if there's a penalty or ingery
There are one or two South African commentators who can switch over from English to Xhosa to Afrikaans fluently. Not an easy task, but possible.
i live in south africa
Each number represents your position on the field. The numbers are from 1 to 15. The forwards are from 1 to 8, and the back line is from 9 to 15. The two fastest players are the wings. They are No. 11 and No. 14
Pretty boyz ...All i wanna know is when are yall pulling up to SA....be warned you might not want to leave...brace yourselves😊
Come to SA bros!
If you peeps watch rugby rules explained you are going to enjoy this more :)
There where the player all 'huddle' is called a scrum. 8 players on each side pushes against each other to win the ball.
That part is called a scrum. The "pack"weight of both sides is a factor.
The numbers on the jerseys are based on position. So whichever position the player is in for the game they will wear that number. 11 and 14 are left and right wing respectively.
🇿🇦👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
The language is the one used in the movie black panther
injuries aren’t often to be honest 8:01 and the videos are a compilation so 14 last time isn’t the same listen for the names they will say the surname like 11 is Mapimpi
Our boys eat chakalaka and pap. They don’t eat salads.
The name of the language is Xhosa. Trevor Noah is Xhosa as well as Nelson Mandela. It is the language spoken in the movie BLACK PANTHER.
injuries happen loads. BUT your body becomes conditioned through training to take massive hits and also dealing massive hits through technique
Come to South Africa
You got to try it most genenial trust and love game ever ❤
Rugby is a continuous play Game.
I played rugby 18 years , broke my femur in year 2 played 16 more years with a steel plate.
5:04 that was a scrum
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
They run at such a high speed, so it's much easier for them to dive 😂
we will celebrate for 4 years until the next game
In every game there's gonna be someone getting hurt that the beauty of rugby it's i ruff sport
The language is called Zulu the main language is Zulu Afrikaans and English
I would say about 1-2 injuries per game
Diving at the touch down makes it more difficult to be tacked and losing the ball
I see a lot of blood in games
I died once…my mom told me to walk it off…😂😂😂
what is so special about rugby is every position dictates how the player is build.
The forwards tend to be very powerful and tall, and they fight for the ball and then its passed to the fast runners.
Rugby numbers are based on the position you play. 1-15 and the bench is 16-22/23.
1 prop(line man)
2 hooker “
3 prop “
4 lock “
5 lock “
6 flank “
7 flank “
8 eighth man “
9 scrum half(there’s no comparison to an nfl position)
10 fly half(qb)
11 winger(wr)
12 centre(te)
13 centre(te)
14 wing(wr)
15 fullback(rb)
Guys go check out cheslin kolbe the ultimate athlete...he is the fastest springbok ever
Rugby is about strength and speed , most of the players are fast and strong. in football you have fast players and the strong players in defense. in rugby all the players have to be strong and fast no matter the size.
No one owns a number, the number depends on where/what the coach decides to place you.
Cheslin Kolbe not Justin kobe haha my favourite player and the one you should look out for is Mr number 4 himself, Eben Etzebeth
10:18 KOL-BE
No, you do not have to dive to score. However, you do have to touch the ball to the ground.
Ball has touch the ground to score
A scrum, the dog pile look bit when the teams are pushing against eachother is all the forwards (the main beef and tacklers on the team)fight for the ball, the scrum half puts the ball inbetween the teams and they push for the ball so the hooker can hook it back to the 8
As somone who used to do rugby, had to stop due to back injury from it. 1. Yes injurys happen but if its a mild concussion or a sprain normally we brush it off and keep playing, unless you're leaking blood play won't stop. 2. Gym workouts for me was just strength and conditioning for my specific part on the team. I am also south African so I'm extra qualified to talk about rugby 😂😂
We build different bruh
I am ex Irish rugby player,,,,,,, we die young
AS A RSA KIDE I PLAY SCHOOL RUGBY U14 PLAY FOR DNS
We have a mutual respect for the All Black's (New Zealand) we win and play hard. Eben is like 6,7.
VIVA AMABOKKE VIVA x 4 times
Explanations: you actually have to touch the ball down in the endzone to score a try (where the term “touchdown” originated from). A scrum is after certain infractions, similar to lining up in football, but with full contact and a lot of force.
Love how curious you boys are;) Return the favour and put us onto some NFL clips.
On the rules it seems complex but it’s all stems from three basic ideas.
1. You must be on your feet to play the ball and if you get tackled you must pass or place the ball immediately
2. You can only tackle the person with the ball, you have to use your arms and not touch their head. And when tackled you must give them a clear chance to place the ball before you try pick it up (if you’re on your feet of course;))
3. You have to approach play from your side of the field (the offside line runs through the ball or if there’s a pile of bodies around the ball, the last feet on your side)
When you knock the ball on (forward by mistake) to restart there’s a scrum. You get to put the ball in play between the forwards and the other team gets to try push you off the ball before you can pick it up.
All the strategy then is about trying to get a two or three on one by winning a string of little battles until you can set it up.
Like chess;).
Also remember NFL, soccer, basketball, rugby…they all have the same origins. They just evolved little tweaks that had big impacts over the years;)
So they buckle up and then they put the ball in the middle, then which ever team gets closer to the ball gets the ball
ahhh fosho thank you for letting us know! we appreciate the help
Injerys happen like once or twce in one game
dangg that's tough
