I love how within mere minutes of being introduced to Venom's gameplay, the game forces you to kill a child, establishing that this game takes Venom very seriously. This game filled my childhood with such joy. Miss it so much! Played it on the GameCube back when you had to use Action Replay disks to cheat! Good old days lol
I think the kid was supposed to be a reference to the balloon kids from Spider-Man 2 that people kept complaining about back in the day. I like that treyarch added that as a joke, even if it is surprising to say the least

my guess is that since the game was originally made in a 4:3 ratio, they needed venoms model for the tendrils, and so the model was off camera to get the shot they needed for the cutscene. but, since I played the game in widescreen, we can see the model.
Don't know about a remaster but a re-release might be possible, due to Project Spartacus on PS5, chances are slim but it might be released as a PS2 Classic
It's not available on digital stores anymore because Activision lost the license to publish Marvel games shortly after the HD ports for the first two Ultimate Alliance games came out. And thus, all of the games were delisted, including all of their Spider-Man games, which of course, this one fit under that umbrella.
The first character you feed on is the same kid from Spider-Man 2. That's not only a nice thing for the developers to call back too. But it's also kinda messed up that it's a kid you drain the life of.

Played this on PC a looong time back. Back then my specs weren't high enough to run it smoothly. Still played through the entire thing in low res and without proper textures. Was a certain charm to that
I JUST BARELY beat this game after all these years of playing only the beginning. I have to say this is a very interesting SM game and there are enjoyable as well as annoying things to it. I love the array of characters including Wolverine and Human Torch. The comic book cut scenes are an awesome element to the story. I like how powerful Venom is with this heavy attack and huge leaps. The web swinging is dizzying to me because of the camera - I didn't enjoy this so I found myself web-zipping where I could to circumvent that. I played this on the dolphin emulator and it wasn't until about half way through that I bumped up the graphics to 4k - I wish I would have done this earlier! Anyways, I'm really hyped for the new SM movie and I wanted to beat this game to fulfill a SM achievement before the movie I guess. I also beat the SM (2001) game too. Thanks for the upload btw.

I loved this game and playing as venom so much! The only downside was not being able to roar at any point when tearing up the city as him as he does in boss fights with Spider-Man. There is a mod that gives him carnage’s spin attack and that allows the roar to be bound but sadly don’t know how

I loved the crap out of this game. Except for the electro chase and goblin chase/boss fight. I’d always happen to fling the wrong direction or something and end up falling way behind and losing. For me the goblin boss fight was just so hard. I one time finally beat the first part of it and it sucked finding out there was a part 2 and I lost so many times in the second part of the fight. I eventually finally beat him and the game. I was so happy to finally finish the game.
I actually still have this game for the Nintendo GameCube. And I really love it. I'm thinking of playing it again. Ince I get myself a new NGC at my local flea market.
i'm so tempted to try to remaster this, and find a way to transfer the game engine (treyarch ngl) to unreal engine 5... imagine implementing better comic graphics and introducing carnage and or green goblin gameplay...

Its a little speedrunning trick I found that I have yet to really get the hang off, I hold rt + y, and then you want to hold x the a almost at the same time at the bottom of the arc of the swing, to get a good boost. I use an Xbox controller so translate the keys/buttons how you will.

I've been trying desperately to get a functional way to play this game again for years. I can't get an emulator that functions at all. :(
