    I met Udo on the Balls to the Wall Tour, at the Hotel they were staying at in Tempe, Arizona. We talked by the Pool for about an hour and when we were about ready to leave my friend asked Udo if we could get some tickets to the Show, he said sure, and asked us to write down our names. We wrote our names on a napkin and gave it to him. We didn't think he would do anything about it. We went to the Concert the next day and checked in at the Will Call and Lo and Behold, we not only had tickets for the Show but also Backstage Passes. I will NEVER forget how kind he was. He is an absolute Legend and a great Man..

      Check out Pete’s interview playlist on SoT. He has interviewed a lot of big names in rock, metal and prog even before Udo. Mike Portnoy has been on this channel as a guest and he has interviewed the likes of John Petrucci, Neal Morse, Steve Hackett, Steve Morse, Mick Box (Uriah Heep), Annie Haslam (Renaissance), Derek Shulman (Gentle Giant), Dee Snider, Dennis De Young (Styx), Steve Lukather, Bev Bevan, Todd La Torre, Barry Goudreau (Boston), Kurdt Vanderhoof (Metal Church), Rob Halford, Roine Stolt (Flower Kings, Transatlantic), Mark Kelly (Marillion), Walter Trout, Carmine Appice, Derek Sherinian, Alex Skolnik, Andy Powell (Wishbone Ash) and Frank Marino! Check out that playlist, he has loads of big interviews from the last few years.

      @dawnpatrol700 Před 2 lety +1

      In 1986, metal was big money, and the record companies were almost forcing bands to go heavier IE Slayer or go hair metal. I remember before buying Roulette, wondering if they would have a radical change. They pleased me by continuing to do what they do, and not conforming. Another Second To Be still gets play from me. Even "it's hard to find a way" was like a heavy ballad with psychedelic undertones

He responded (as transcribed by Blabbermouth): 'I don't know. I think I'm really lucky with my voice. I go every year to check everything, and the doctor always says, 'Everything's perfect. No problems.' And this is crazy.'"

    It`s cool too se UDO still going strong. I remmeber Accept play in Norway Mai 1986 Russian Roulette Tour it was so cool to see them all on stage.
    In 1988 UDO and Ozzy played in Drammen UDO had just let out Mean Machine. I like to hear Pete talk about music when i was a kid.
    He have so mutch too say and it`s very good to hear. I have music from Hank Williams to Motorhead Metal, Country (old Country), Blues and yes Rock & Roll.

    I will say it, because the comment sections provide hell of a revelations. My favorite story I know from here is when Accept were supporting Kiss in 1984 during their US tour, the American audience was quite unfamiliar with the special guest. “Germany? Are you serious?” However the American audience has always been struggling with quality live bands with less clowning on stage. So when Accept finished their set several gigs in a row, they were applauded more than the headliner and once the audience even booed Kiss for being the weaker band with the weaker performance… which I guess is understandable when your first exposure to “Fast as a shark”, “Breaker”, “Restless and wild” and “Balls to the Wall” was in a live format. Even Motörhead would sound weak compared to that, let alone Kiss
