Consider fate. Thor can be killed only by the serpent so even if Zeus got the upper hand, Jormundgandr would drop in just like Vegeta saying “How many times to I have to tell you Thor if anybody is going to kill you it’s gonna be me!” They’d team up.

Zeus actually gets extra pissed when people mess with kids. Thor took a couple servants as compensation for breaking one of his goats the one time.

@@adroitws1367 Thor isn't an alien. He's the son of Gaea the elder goddess and Odin who was one of the first skyfathers along with Zeus, Vishnu and rest of the gods in the council of godhead. With that said Odin himself was born to gods like Borr whom in turn was the child of Buri. Buri had no parents but was spawn of the remnants of demiurgic energy which created elder gods or the first generation of gods. On the other hand Zeus too was born to the second generation of Greek gods who were titans. Titans were the descended from elder gods too.

Plus, there was a story of Zeus turning a woman he impregnated into a fly and swallowing her because he was told that just as he'd done with his father Chronos, a child born to this woman would *kill* him and take his place, and that's what lead to Athena coming out of his forehead (Athena could very well *be* that child); so it *is* possible for Zeus to be killed.

    • @saberlily1954
      @saberlily1954 Před rokem +2

      @@ezrafaulk3076 Couple of corrections here.
      >Zeus turning a woman he impregnated into a fly and swallowing her
It wasn't just some woman it was Metis, he also didn't turn her into a fly he tricked her into turning herself into a fly.
      > a child born to this woman would kill him and take his place
He was told he would be overthrown not killed, he also didn't kill Chronos he cut him apart and threw him into Tartarus because you can't kill him.
      >that's what lead to Athena coming out of his forehead (Athena could very well be that child)
Well yes Metis was pregnant with Athena when Zeus swallowed her, so she burst from his forehead already grown and clade in armor, but the actual prophecy was that he would have a daughter wiser than Metis and a son mightier than himself who would overthrow him.
Athena is not that child and will never be more powerful than Zeus, its stated so many times that Zeus is how you say, "built different" and Athena has been a part of a failed coup against Zeus and herself said that no one could oppose Zeus.
"Our Father, son of Cronus, high and mighty, we already know your power, far too well...who can stand against you?" -Athena, Book 8
Also, in a rant against Hera Zeus evens claims that all of Olympus couldn't stop him.
""Now go sit down. Be quite now. Obey my orders, for fear the Gods, however many Olympus holds, are powerless to protect you when I come to throttle you with my irresistible hands." -Iliad Book 1
Everyone then collectively shits themselves at just the idea of fighting Zeus.
"And throughout the halls of Zeus the Gods quaked in fear." -Book 1
Zeus also just says "I will beat all of you together I am built different."
"Hang me a golden chain from heaven, and lay hold of it all of you, gods and goddesses together - tug as you will, you will not drag Zeus the supreme counselor from heaven to earth; but were I to pull at it myself I should draw you up with earth and sea into the bargain, then would I bind the chain about some pinnacle of Olympus and leave you all dangling in the mid firmament. So far am I above all others.""
To understand Zeus, you have to remember is he isn't just the god of the heavens, and lightning he is also the god of law, order and justice what's important about Zeus is his rule is legitimate unlike anyone else so he will never be defeated this is why the son never came to be and why Typhon failed.

At first I honestly thought that Thor would ultimately loose. Considering that like you said, Norse Gods are mortal, Greek Gods aren`t. But here`s some thoughts that came into my head while watching your vid.
    1. Yes, Thor`s hammer can technically be lifted by anyone, you did state that Thor was really the only strong enough to hold it. Another is that it`s Thor`s metal gloves and belt that help him. So basically what I`m saying is that while yes, Zeus COULD, in theory, just take Thor`s hammer, it probably wouldn`t have the effect due to it not being wielded by someone with the proper gear.
2.Something you forgot to mention about Zeus fighting Typhon is that Typhon actually WON the first round and managed to rip Zeus's tendons out. Then there`s that time Hephaestus split Zeus`s head open to release Athena. What I`m trying to get at is that while yes, Zeus MAY be immortal, that doesn't make him truly invincible. Also, considering that Zeus apparently get`s hid lighting bolts from a bag held Pegasus, that could be inconvenient at times.
Honestly, I see to possible scenarios. Either Thor managed to beat Zeus so hard that he ends up begging Thor to stop, or Zeus does it easy and turns into a cloud of air and enters Thor`s lungs and suffocates him from the inside.
There`s are my two cents, take it as you will, and thank you for the videos sir. I`m proud to see how far you came.

There was a serpent that fought Zeus, and if another God/Goddess (I think Athena, but I'm not 100% certain on that) hadn't shown up to save him, he would have died.

I'm not aware of any ancient account of the Typhon myth in which it is claimed that death was ever a possibility for Zeus. Do you have a source? With the very unique exception of the Orphic Dionysos who is torn to pieces, cooked and eaten but is eventually brought back to life, the Greek gods are explicitly and consistently called deathless in ancient Greek texts and there are no myths in which any god dies. Interestingly, it is said that there was a tomb of Zeus in Crete, but the ancients claimed that it was falsely attributed to him and modern scholars generally interpret this incongruity by the idea that in Crete Zeus had been identified with a local vegetation god who probably was born and died anually. In any case, the other Greeks strongly rejected the notion of a dead Zeus and the Cretans gained a reputation for being liars. Mortality and divinity were simply incompatible concepts in mainstream ancient Greek religion and mythology.

Technically, Thor is destined to die at Ragnarok. If Fate/Wyrd decrees it, Zeus would never be able to defeat Thor because it's not his time yet. Another thing I feel is important is the myth where Thor and Loki go and visit Utgard-Loki. In the myth, there are several instances where Thor is almost at Typhon's level of destructiveness. He swings his hammer and creates entire valleys in mountains, he lowers the ocean's water level by a lot in an effort to get drunk, he almost lifts Jormungandr (who is in the form of a cat) off the ground, establishing the world, and he is also able to stand his ground against Old Age temporarily. All of this is enough that Utgard-Loki, an incredibly powerful sorcerer and warrior is so scared that he hides his castle with illusions after Thor leaves.
I feel this level of power could be enough to handle Zeus, maybe even knock him out of the sky. Which is all Thor really needs to do. Then he can wrestle Zeus and kill him. Even hold him long enough that a single solid blow from Mjolnir would be enough to kill Zeus.

Like 2 fish trying to drown one another in the ocean. The question would be who gets hit with mjolnir. In several sagas Thor can split mountain ranges with the throwing of his hammer. In his trial with the over king Thor barely picks up a dog's paw with all his might. But the paw is actually jormungand. If we did a ratio to determine what % of a dog's body weight relative to the body and compared it to a the weight of a python that could encircle the earth and run the % we may have an answer of who is stronger. Honestly the Greeks do treat Zeus as borderline almighty, even the Iliad has line after line of the entire pantheon going "Zeus is so fucking strong and we cant do shit against him."
Like Athena threw SICILY at a giant and still considers Zeus basically invincible.
