To us the idea of spending Christmas away from home just didn't seem right before we went, but now spending Christmas in Germany is something that anybody that really loves the season should do at least once in their lifetime!

We visited Rothenburg twice on river cruises. Once in the summer, 2016, and once in November, 20198, when they were setting up for the Christmas Market. We love this beautiful city in both seasons but I must say Christmas is my favorite time of year so this video was so charming.

We were there several years ago when all the visitors formed 2 lines and a man dressed in medieval clothing rode between our lines on a pony with a scroll to declare the market open.
