I feel like Sid's the kinda guy who'd watch Human Centipede and like it.
Ok ok ok. The first one gets a bad rap because of the sequels. It *is* a body-horror movie with disturbing concepts and scenes, but it is at least an entertaining movie, and not nearly as gross-out as people think.
The sequels are deranged, terrible, and just as disgusting as people assume the franchise is.

In toy story, when the birthday party starts and you get the view of the first floor, all the children is Andy just dressed differently and different ethnicities

I had to go back and rewatch but you're right lmaoo. Theres like a 2 second shot of the kids running to the kitchen and if you pause it you can clearly see theyre just andy in different clothes with a darker skinned one on the side 😭

What i get from this is the first 2 movies had an underlying hint of sarcasm, raunchyness and masochism that the rest lack.

Friendly reminder: Sid never knew the toys were alive. He was growing up in an obviously troubled household and was honestly very creative with some of his creations. He was using the toys as a therapeutic outlet for his internalized frustrations. It's better than doing it on, say, small animals or his little sister.

AND HE WAS SO GOOD TO THE FAMILY DOG! He comes home IMMEDIATELY gives the dog some attention, gave it a toy that he won, and the dog knew to wait to attack the toy as a trick that SID HAD CLEARLY TAUGHT HIM. THAT TAKES HOURS OF QUALITY TIME WITH A PET.
Sid is good to that dog and to me that’s the most telling aspect of his character

I remember when Disney World in Orlando, specifically MGM Studios Park, had a Pizza Planet themed restaurant & arcade. It was phenomenal. They torn it down, unfortunately to make room for the shallow so-called “experience” of the Star Wars section, unfortunately, the last time I visited which was in 2022. It was next to the Muppets 3D ride.

My theory is that when a owner of a toy gives a personality to said toy, it inherence that personality, such as slinky dog, being loyal to Woody, all the way through Toy story one, and at the end of Toy story three he says that he’s the loyal dog you have

It was said sonewhere that Woody was originally thought by the creators as a hand-me-down from Andy's father. If such is true, would make sense why Andy would choose Woody over Buzz when packing for college.
Little bit of a fun fact about the first movie woody was originally supposed to be a complete ass but they changed his character because he was just a bit too mean and they didn’t want him to be completely irredeemable!
Also the movie came out in November of 95! (I was 7 months old then.)

Buzz and Woody are two of the most realistic characters in Pixar films, which is funny considering they are f***ing toys. 😂 woody especially is such a terrible guy until the VERY end but its so damn funny.
You should also check out the Halloween and Christmas shorts. And the Star Command series.
I stand by it, toy story 1 is one of the most tightly crafted and perfectly paced movies of all time. TS2 suffers from pixars problem with emotional manipulation, and irrational occurances.
