- Ontario, Ca. Street Racers got caught racing or had stolen engines and or trans where found nuisance and therefore a judge ordered these cars destroyed. When vin#'s and Ser #'s have been removed which then creates a problem finding who the real owners are and unable to give cars to the needy because of the liabilty if they did. Go to the track.

What a waste. The cars could be sold at an auction for example, the owner wouldn't see it again and be punished, and the state would earn some money.

That's the reason given...doesn't mean it isn't complete horseshit. It would take a couple hundred bucks at most to get those cars checked out by a competent tech. Would it REALLY be that big of a deal giving them to a family in need that won't have to walk or take the bus?
At the very least, part them out. Any of those cars with a B16, B18, etc. would have engines that would command 2-3K on the used market assuming they were long blocks with all harnesses and stuff attached.

Cars would be sold and out on the streets racing again. So they rather destroy it to prove a point.
Description said that the cars had their VIN's and other serial numbers removed. You can't sell cars that don't have VIN's.

Ontario track has been gone for almost 40 years.
It's sad because cars don't just hold people, but they hold memories... valuable memories, people have had fun in them cars and for people to just crush them, it's quite sad!

only the drivers who got arrested for it and not the ones whose illegal street racing resulted in a fatal accident

also I'm not mentally deranged or anything but where I come from the laws interpret that if you deliberately choose to voluntarily make bad choices then you deliberately meant and intended for anything bad that happened as a result of said choice to happen under those premeses countless drunk drivers and illegal street racers have been sentenced to life without parole and or death by being crushed along with the vehicle they used to commit the crime (if the district they committed the crime in has a death penalty) in those districts the families of the victims of those whose lives were lost as a result of the drivers illegal actions are brought to the scrap yard where those drivers whose actions did result in the death of another are chained in the drivers death and handcuffed to the steering column while all the cars are stacked together in the crusher and then pancakes together the next step after this saves the family of the criminals burial and funeral costs by doing the cremation free of charge where a compartment below the crusher opens up dropping the crushed car into "meat grinder"style spiked grinder rollers grinding up the scrap metal car and then dropping it below into a vat of liquid metal where it is casted and rolled into sheet metal as a memorial grave marking the families of the offenders are given the offer of a slate of sheet metal with the person's name engraved in it

Pretty sure they cannot be sold or parted out as normally people who are racing tend to remove serial numbers and VIN numbers. This makes it so you cannot prove that the parts/vehicles are not stolen, therefore they are crushed to avoid legal issues with letting them be parted out or auctioned off.
Just another example of bureaucracy and politics ruining everything for normal people. Yay justice! /s

As much as I feel bad for the former owners of these cars, and my personal situation in which I can't afford to have my own vehicle, I don't believe that human life is worth to be lost to illegal street racing...nice cars...but nicer to take them away from irresponsible people...

Ya resell the cars to some more people who will use them for the wrong purpose, its fair you put other people's life in danger so you don't deserve to drive then. laws are there for a reason.

where I'm from the judge court orders the vehicle to be smelted immediately after crushing and any drivers whose illegal actions resulted in the death of sn innocent bystander are sentenced to sit inside the car handcuffed to the steering column while the car goes through the crusher

Rob Demise I have looked further into the turn Ricer, if they are indeed just shit-box 4 cylinder cars with mostly cosmetic mods then yes, indeed most cars could still beat them. However if you get a good quality 4 or 6 cylinder asian car with decent tuning and mods I think it could easily outrun a standard muscle car. Look at the Skyline etc.
If the police ever told me that modifying my vehicle was illegal...the only mods I do are to benefit the car’s life and efficiency, not got crazy fast and be an unsafe driver
My Journey isn’t the greatest car for rollover protection, so I put in a roll cage. The police in my area know why I did it, and were proud that I’m making sure my vehicle exceeds all safety standards and requirements by law. My vehicle SMASHES the emissions inspections because of my hybrid system. My engine runs like it’s brand new, because there’s 50% less strain when accelerating. I have the 3.5L V6, a very peppy engine for what it is. The only reason I modified it is so it’s way stronger and a bit better on gas, not for more power and speed.
They were not destroyed for mods. They were destroyed for removed VINS, street racing, and stolen parts. You can modify your car any way you want, as long as the parts are not stolen. But, race it at the race track, not the street and you will have your car for ad long as you like.

There's no VIN numbers on many parts (wheels, seats, dash, lights, etc)...the town SHOULD have chopped the cars and sold for parts
Why is it that all of the hondas are getting caught? Kids with fart can resonators and vtech think they're race car drivers. Don't get me wrong though I love honda and work for acura.

If you take a good look at those cars, They are beat to shit. No great loss. The insides are trashed the outsides full of dents and scratches. Bald tires etc... I have yet to see a really nice street racer get crushed. All they crush are the slow junkers they can catch. The rest get away.
The cop watched fast and furious and is now an expert on all things Honda.

Quite a few years ago when I was a teenager. I remember safety checks that used to have in Chatham. Ontario, there was a man who had a 62 Pontiac Parisienne And truthfully pulled it off the road. Nothing wrong with it and he fighted to keep that car on the road it was done deliberately
