Wish you guys luck. I think the Guyana Government is on a fast track building spree wrt the roads building program. Engineering consultation and design standards taking the back seat. Contractors driving the roads program, and there seem to be little to no oversight or design input from the owners engineers. If the Terms of reference for these design build contracts include AASHTO standards (modified to local conditions) With quality control monitoring and performance warranty, maybe it will result in a better product?
How mighty are the Haitian people to fend off the French military thus helping in the US and leading the way for other nations to gain independence. All should understand the role Haiti has played in helping so many benefitted and still benefit while many people suffer. I pray Haiti will reap the benefits of what they've had to endure while other nations have used them to develop and prosper. Why have other nations tried to occupy Haiti and take over Haiti? Why do some groups of nations believe they are better than other nations and can somehow mistreat or oppress the people?
All the roads look like runways (straight) and no trees. No proper drainage systems, no proper engineering. Everything seems like a build as you go along mentality.
