@@Someone-ds7vy If Unohana dies in the Quincy War after training Zaraki, that's a boon. Doing so is unfortunately a cut-off, and Zaraki isn't particularly good at it. His arm was cut off in the fight with Quincy. It would be correct to say that this was a futility

Unohana went from the most graceful and gracious being in the entire Gotei 13 - to the most ruthless and methodical, the moment Kyoraku called her into the meeting with the Council. What a madness that moment was. Then learning of her role as part of the original Gotei 13 - and the fact that the scar on Kenpachi's face is from her (and she has one from him). By contrast/in turn, seeing Kenpachi speak of his admiration for Unohana mid-fight - is the first time in all of Bleach that we see this weaker, vulnerable side from him. It was a scene done so very well.

The biggest part of this fight for me was that kenpachi was part shocked and impressed when he landed a hit on unohana, there has never really been a moment like that

I agree completely but Kubo made a massive mistake, he wasted Unohana's character by making her die in the fight. Because of that we have most of the Bleach's fanbase calling her weak and stuff like that. Meanwhile, in fact she has easily proved herself to be schutzstaffel-level. She can definitely beat one or two of Yhwach's royal guards, oh and she can definitely beat Gremmy.

This fight is basically "I've won but at what cost?"
Unohana was happy Zaraki reached his full potential, but also pitied him because now no one could give him the satisfaction of a true fight again. This truly was the only best duel the two ever had where they fully embraced their bloodlust and let loose.
Dunno if Zaraki will feel the same rush again.

This is definitely my favorite Bleach song from you. I like all of them but, this one is my favorite cause it doesn't just end and start over again at the middle. Unohana is better now, but she is no match for a Zaraki at his full power. Currently Zaraki does not have even 30% of her total power.

@@tearspoint8153 That’s not my point, it isn’t about who’s stronger. I’m saying they’re sacrificing their best healer and one of the strongest captains ever for Zaraki to learn zanjutsu which is shikai and bankai. Sure he’ll be stronger, but I don’t think it’s a good call. That’s my opinion.

Whilst I do think this whole set up was cool (music was peak)
.....there's no way this was planned ahead of time...
Unohana has absolutely 0 foreshadowing that she was the number 2 in strength behind yamamoto at any point prior to the blood war, and Kenpachi being mentally limited was also pulled out of nowhere, he was always a guy who limited himself consciously for a better fight and didn't care about his sword.
It would have made more sense for his powerup to be purely based around his zanpacto and actually using it properly as opposed to an invented mental block enforced by a previously very underutilized captain. You could even use the same set up, with him being forced to death over and over again forcing him to speak to his sword for the first (?) time, then have him win through his first use of shikai.
It doesn't create any plot holes or anything (there are explanations that work for the prior story)... it's just kinda weird when you take a step back or reread the series. Like Unohana is supposed to be this historical force of nature but no one treats her like that, even the older captains from before kenpachi was around.

Unohana's strength was always kinda implied. Even as far back as soul society arc. Just notice how everyone reacts when she talks to them or instructs them to do something. I do agree tho kenpachi's power up could've been all related to his sword
