Kayak Fishing Lake Tahoe is ALWAYS an Adventure!

A quick demonstration of how to troll a worm behind a kayak for Rainbow Trout! I was rudely interrupted by Mother Nature, some pretty big swell towards the end of the video.

I just caught ky first brown trout ever. And i used a vertical jig. I plan to put this fish on the list and take my kayak out there also. I was fishing on carson city side. And it took no less then 20 minutes the giant 12lbs brown hit my lure. No net landed the fish. Also it was at the nudist beach haha

You are very fortunate to be able to fish that lake! Instead of a downrigger, try a small dipsey diver, size 0. Run a small spoon 5-7 ft behind it, with 12 lb fluoro leader. Good luck.

That’s serious rough waters for kayak fishing. Play it safe is da way to go. Getting wet in 48 without a wetsuit would not be good. See you next time. 👍🙏🎣⚒

Would you want to hit the water one day? I live in south lake, NorCal my whole life. I have a kayak and never fish the lake. Id by the worms and lunch!
