Guys, I apologize, I haven't been able to answer many of the questions asked under this video. I no longer work in this area, and it has been a really long time I haven't worked on APDL at all. I am all rusty, and I am afraid I will not be able to address most of the comments. If I could be of any help, feel free to reach out to me at jaydesh1@gmail.com .That is typically the fastest way to reach to me. Thanks and I appreciate your comments and suggestions.

Thanks, I'm glad you found it useful. The only change in case of 3D would be in the moduli of elasticity Ex Ey Ez and PRxy PRyx Prxz.and Gx Gy Gz Add the corresponding values from the standard available data.
There is no change in any of other parameters except the material properties.

Thank you for uploading this vdo! it has been very helpful to me (new ANSYS APDL user).
I have a quick question about using ANSYS APDL for particulate filled composite (which you have briefly mentioned in this vdo). It follows exactly the same procedure, creating a video will simply be following the same way I have done here. Please follow the same procedure.

    Hi Jaydeep
when i tried with SOLID46 elemnt with the same procedure as you explained using shell element, while meshing ANSYS is showing some error i.e. meshing is aborted. what might be the reason? how can i do composite analysis using SOLID46 element??

      Hi Murari,
I'm sorry, I was away due to exams. SOLID-46 is not supported on the version of ansys I'm using. Have you tried using, maybe SOLID185? The difference here is that, you can not assign sections. You have to create layers separately as individual solid layers.
Thanks for watching the video. Get in touch with me if you get any issues.
      Cheers,
      Jaydeep

      hi Jaydeep
I tried with SOLID46 element, it satisifies all the physical conditions for modelling composites. But the problem is i dono the exact procedure. your tutorial also helped me a lot. now i can do composite analysis using SHELL element. if u get an idea using SOLID elements pls give a reply

      Murari Mura Hi,
So, I think I have solved you problem. Follow the steps mentioned below:
      1-Element Type: Solid 186
2-After you add the element go to options in the same menu, select Keyopt3 and select layered element there. This way you get a layered solid.
3-Follow rest of the steps JUST like I have shown in the tutorial.
You can orient the element as per the commands which can be found in Help for SOLID 186.
If you need any help, feel free to ask.

      Hi Jaydeep
Thanks for your contribution on my problem. It was really helpful to me.
Do you have any idea regarding contact stress analysis?

      Hi,
I hope I could solve your previous problem. Could you describe the contact stress problem, I maybe able to tell you regarding that.
      Cheers,
      Jaydeep
