The music is too complex for most modern heads to get, but us old schoolers who dig fusion and acid jazz understand it. Weather Report, Jeff Lorber, Jaco Pastorius....you can hear the influences.....even Prince during his jazz/funk instrumental phase
@@hoost3056 funny enough I came to know their music through much more modern avenues. Metal bands like Animals as Leaders led me into progressive jazz like Sungazer and Knower, and then I came to love Mohini Dey as a musician. Without a doubt those more modern artists were listening to or inspired by the OGs you mentioned!
