  • “Stories can be nonlinear. They’re powerful tools.” Filmmaker, artist, and writer Blitz Bazawule describes how his grandmother’s storytelling in Ghana led him to create art in many mediums, including writing his debut novel “The Scent of Burnt Flowers” and directing the musical feature adaptation of “The Color Purple.” #DailyShow #Comedy

It is so kind and cute from him to said( Trevor is the first person he thought about 🥰)
Trevor said about the point( About people who are connected by so many things and yet have so many things that actually make them different.)
It is very interesting point to understand more deep!
Double Consciousness, very wise to said it like that.
Sometimes we should learn and apply this to our minds, i love it and will learn from that.
Sometimes is hard to deal thing in life, but hope if i could learn about this double consciousness! maybe could help me many different ways of dealing with life in general.
Appreciate you both 🙏 please put more positive vibes in this world, the young generation need 🙏

What a warm, inspiring, beautiful human this man is. Aside from the main focus of the interview i.e book, movie, music, the words he found to explain trying to find who you are when you are pulled by your own identity into "who am I". I have never lived in another country but the one I was born into ( thru choice), but the why he communicated the struggle allowed the none experienced an incite that captivated.

I can't wait to read this book either. Going from a world where everything is within fingers' reach to going to a world where only scant amounts of things are even available must be a complete culture shock. I remember just moving from NYC to South Florida, the culture shock was everywhere & in everything. Perfect example: in NYC, a Wife was on par with a Husband. In Florida, a Wife was her Husband's property, to be done with, whatever he chose.

I've always found that when people paid due respect to the original, every aspect that brought it to life, to begin with, & then incorporated elements of themself into it, they not only captured the essence of the original, they reached out to those who never knew of its existence, in the first place.
"No matter where you go in life, never forget where you came from".
