800 years ago, Xie Lian was the Crown Prince of Xianle. And during his parade-a young kid fell from the very top of the palace, Xie Lian broke the parade rules to catch the kid. When Xie Lian became a martial god, he was investigating Xianle when it rained- he left his *red umbrella* on the floor for a kid who needed it. The kid died.
Xie Lian almost became an evil calamity, but the kid that had died and turned into a ghost who accompanied Xie Lian. But he died again saving Xie Lian and humanity.
800 years later:
Xie Lian became a scrap god and had to solve a case in the mountains where he had to dress up as a bride. Wearing red wedding robes. The kid- who had already died twice- grew up to become the Supreme Ghost King, Hua Cheng, who accompanied Xie Lian up that mountain with the same red umbrella. And eventually- Xie Lian became Hua Cheng's beloved.

Sounds so challenging good luck! Danmei also got me interested in learning Mandarin but going from english to that is so hard :(

It's been half a year of occasional chinese study and being enrolled in an chinese speaking course for me and I can already make out some thinghs while watching Donghua and C-Dramas.
Just keep in mind that when you first learned a language back in school this got drawn out for a long time, so don't be frustrated if chinese is your third language and it takes longer then you expect.
Apps like Duolingo and Pleco are an immense help for me.

Some of the music here is so soft and soothing, but knowing what Xie Lian has been through, I can't help but to listen to it and feel sorrow..... yet he still looks everyone with a smiling face as if he had never endured all that pain in the past. This is why this story is so beautiful, and the music brings the best of it out even more.

Yeah, I finished the english translation 2x by now and hell, I wouldn't have survived the last few chapter's if I had listened to this earlier. I like the graphic style of the manga adaption better than the anime but in the anime, thye can draw out Hua Cheng's emotional struggle with holding back a lot better. Definetly I masterpiece.

honestly i love these two so much. Some people ship themselves with one of them but i wouldn’t dare ship either of them with anyone else. I have literally never seen such an imperfect perfect ship. These two opened my eyes to what love really is. I can’t explain it in full detail but the short version is that you don’t need physical touch in a relationship if you love someone. I remember watching the series on Netflix and when hua cheng and xie lian looked into each other’s eyes you could tell that there was a beautiful connection between them. I am saving this playing to my late night music playlist. seriously such good music I feel like I might cry

I have read the entire book series, show (and I'm dying for season two), and some of the manhua. The reason i found this was because i saw the trailer on Netflix and thought "ooooh pretty art and music with beautiful characters i might watch this later" but a week or so later a friend told me how they wanted to watch it and there was a book series and all the other fancy stuff so we were like how about we read it together? soon i was reading the online version while they were reading hand held so we could see the art. I stayed up for months reading this when i was in bed (supposed to be asleep), when i was at school, on trips, and when i just felt in a crappy mood. the story brought me to tears multiple times and generally just made me happy when i was at my lowest. after a while, i started hanging out with my friend more and started to develop a crush on them. once i grew my dumb brains courage i told them, they said they liked me too and after getting to know each other even more, we started dating. We both loved this series and watch the show together, and eventually are going to cosplay as Hua Cheng (me) and Xie Lian (them) together and it really changed my life. Not only was its compelling story but it's the characters background, plot twists, and general effort put into this story that made me fall in love with it. If i could tell the author how much she means to me i would, and i would honestly do the same to most of the character if i could too (not Jun Wu though............maybe, i don't really know). i just really hope that future people can experience how great this series is, just like i did.

i've heard about tgcf, but just recently stumbled across it on netflix. it was so beautiful i knew i had to read the comic. i'm almost done with it, listening to this while reading it makes it THAT much more beautiful (which is insane, i mean everything about tian guan ci fu is beautiful) it also makes me think of how beautiful hualian's relationship is. (yes, i cheated and looked at some of the hualian chapters in the novel) but i'm so excited to finish this and then read the novel and expand my ever growing love for this series, which is actually the most beautiful thing i've laid my eyes on. and this soundtrack too, oh my god my ears are not worthy. nor are my eyes for looking at the illustration of the comic
