Horizontal top-bar hive honey harvest

- There's a new swarm of honeybees in the forest garden's horizontal top-bar hive and they're already honey bound, so Rob decides it's time to give them some more space by attempting to remove some honeycomb.
All goes well until after harvest time when there's a sting in the tail of Rob's plan.
During the morning, before all the swarmy shenanigans, Rob has help to begin the reconstruction of his latest greenhouse incarnation and his friend Sam turns up to try out his new drone.

🐝 🐝 🐝
Thank you very much 🌻🙏🏽😊
I'm so glad you're enjoying them 🌞
Just so glad you are ok and had people there to look after you! 😮 Such a good informative video, though and absolutely love the views from the drone. The forest garden looks incredible from above! 💚
Thanks for your honesty Rob, as you said maybe you should have lit the smoker,, I’ve had some really nasty swarms over the years and found that they are the most productive but horrible to work with, glad your ok 🐝
You have a lot of respect for nature. Glad you came thru this healthy. Hugs
Always bee safe❤️. Love hearing you talk of your bee adventures😊
How interesting!
Hello Tilly! 😀
They do sound cranky!
Didn’t want to part with their gold!
Drone footage was awesome!
Great video!
An amazing video!! So glad you're OK now.
Mesmerizing. You are brave, working with bees. I missed the song!
Hello Robert nice to see that you get on with your step dad and that he is there to offer a helping hand. I have a step ladder it supports me when things in life are hard to reach I never knew my real ladder 🤣
On a more serious note I love how you approach beekeeping, in my opinion it's always a touchy subject among the beekeeping community but I like to think too much of a good thing can be bad for you so why take more honey than you need?
I also think it's natural for bees to swarm it's sad when they leave but there is clearly a reason why they do it and when a new swarm comes your way it's really exciting and it makes me appreciate that natural honey so much more.
I've got to admit every time I hear your theme tune or song it makes me smile for some reason it always fills me with feelings of nostalgia I have no idea why? anyway Please keep your videos coming Rob my whole family enjoys watching them.
Beeutiful
wow, having shock is not a good experience. So very glad you survived through it. cool photos of your place from the air. your yurt has the most amazing roof cover. Thank you for sharing a bit of your work. ps you did not say what the honey tasted like did you get any to eat, after all that?
That's not how to use a bee brush either, you want to use short fast strokes to knock the bees off, slow strokes roll the bees.
Oh my goodness
Aaahhh... those bees sounded Pi**#$...!!! 😱Glad you were ok and was able to put out another educational and entertaining vid. 😁I presume you asked for the pic of you puffy tongued on the floor too be taken; or was it a friend or family member with a curious sense of humour lol? 🧐🥸 Anyhoo keep well, and it's great seeing your vids more consistently again. 👍🐸🌱🌻
Woahhhhh
Oh dear oh dear.
Do yourself a favour ask you doctor for an epi-pen, THIS WEEK!
You’ve now shown a sensitivity to these bees, next might be worse and you might be alone.
Looks like they have a very grumpy temperament, don’t piss around go get an epi-pen.
It is possible you are dealing with Africanized bees. I've learned that once a colony is Africanized they are dangerous, and some say they should be euthanized. Have you heard of bee barns? You can learn about them on the youtube channel called Vino Farms. He's done his research and shares the information. A whole new way of beekeeping you can add to your collection. I love your channel. I find you to be inspirational. I am glad you are okay.
Africa killer bees I deal with it here in Kenya very aggressive?
Hi Rob do you offer any in person bee training? Me and my Dad would like an introduction. It would be great if he could see your garden, he's not yet convinced of natural beekeeping, I'm hoping to inspire him. Did your Anastasia hive ever take off? Much respect, Ant
