11:22 “I don’t think he chose a great cap” says the guy who capped in Iceland 😂
seemed like the right thing to do at the time tho
Iceland and a corner Iceland at that
"gg alexa cam. i am the worst" 😂😂
I really am sometimes.
what was the reasoning for hitting red from your cap? i thought you would go from spain with a 11v5 caproll
czcams.com/video/nuEYbkBCR7M/video.html
Exactly.... That play was bad. But, everyone make mistakes
If it’s the one I’m thinking of, he wanted to break France without opening red’s capital into Spain. Spain was broken still, but I think that was his logic. At that point, Red didn’t know where he capped.
@@bostoredahl4665no he’s talking about when Pete went for the red capital after a set. He did it from his cap while having to roll through bot material so, by the time he got there, he didn’t have enough troops to rule the cap. If he had done it from Spain, it would’ve been at minimum 14 vs 5 cap roll.
@@LinguistMaster-me5gv was not to shame him or anything, i was just wondering
@@runningriot6399 you are right thats what i meant ( i edit the timestamp)
Also he could have known that there is a 5 cap from the round before
anyways a good game it was :D
This game is being played by a trained professional. DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOMEQ
Whats rule number 1 - don’t pick a corner cap, what’s rule number 2 - don’t cap in Iceland
Pete - Caps in corner and in Iceland 😂
OH NO
Did you watch on mute? This was a challenge / joke video bro 🤣
Learn sarcasm bro
I think this is just your fav format Pete. It's nice to see something consistent in life.
♥
I would love with your "in" with the dev team to please please please please ask them to let us see/spectate fog games. This is an oversight at best. thank you for your continued work Pete. love the vids
Lol. 'in with the dev team'
No way. Risk already has a problem with cheaters, this would encourage them tenfold
@@FreePete That's why i put it in paratheses peter!!! hahahaha
@@fatalshore5068 kinda hyperbolic but that's a whole different conversation. That shouldn't determine the features they could have. Cheaters existing should only determine the anti-cheating measures they should take. Not features in the game.
Only GMs can break the rules and get away with it. Sometimes. Good morning Pete! 🌞
Sometimes
Wooooot hype for this one lol
I commend your efforts to turn terrible placement luck into a teachable moment.
Yeah man, we trying.
are we not gona talk about those perfect dice turn 1 😂
Lol.. only in first 2 minutes and I'm already laughing historically.
this is a win for me!
Pete, would u rather cap Iceland (but the top left territory so it doesn’t guard the bonus) or Eastern Australia in classic?
Australia is much worse imo because it only connects to 1 territory and is a 1 point card block. Also in Aus they can break your bonus without opening your cap.
Iceland.
Hello risk takers and welcome back to a Neeeew video Said In Pete’s Voice
I can almost hear it.
love these challenge type games, even if they're terrible plays haha
Red's luck with the cards helped his game as well.
"....."
"Don't lock yourself in a pocket"
"And put troops on your capital."
These are the rules.
Dont cap in spoiler block
I feel like setting early to take the 4 trade instead of the 15 was a pretty bad idea…
Hey pete, any specific reason you backed off at 920 instead of making him hit an 8v5?
I think I wanted to threaten the bonus.
I dunno, maybe you just roll the 6v3 and hope for good dice.
Have you ever got completely eliminated before you even had a turn
I don't think so
@@FreePete Do france 6 player with bots and you can die if youre in 6th XD
Why not the three in Spain for the capital?
fatal misplay at 9:08 not taking spain first and then leaving it in red's bonus. He obviously took that 3 to capital.
I'm unclear what the suggestion is here
@@FreePete hey pete! Was just suggesting you retook Spain and left that stack in reds bonus (as you had on previous turns) instead of going to check the cap first then split guarding with 3s
@@thomaslarrea1265 Make him roll an 8v5
Why not hold spain then roll out from iceland?
Yeah, I get what he was trying to do. But this position could have been played better.
Why the rules exists?
The rules are here for breaking them.
i find progressive is too luck based.. game should be more about decisions than luck of cards matching.. the guy went from 27 to 76 troops with a 50 cash in.. it's hard enough to manage the the luck factor in fixed.. in progressive it's so much worse.. then add on top crazy people you can't predict.. and the roll of the dice of course.. some luck makes it fun and challenging but too much just makes it a bingo game
There are four or five different kinds of luck in Risk. Managing the probability of all of those factors into a winning position is the skill
@@FreePete you can only manage so many luck factors.. all the skill in the world can't beat luck in such a luck based version of the game.. you can do everything right and still lose.. it is equal for all players so the better players can still win more overall... but some people are more lucky than others... and that adds an emotional factor as well... it can make you question yourself and make you unsure of your decisions.. where as fixed you can see more consistent results and know you're playing good much easier.. does being top ranked really mean you're good or that you're one of the more lucky people who are also good.. is there data on what mode the top ranked players play? that'd be interesting to know.. might be interesting to have ranks for each mode.. see if the same people are at the top
@@domalash I can assure you that after doing this as my main hobby for more than four years. The only reason i am highly ranked is because I'm lucky.
@@FreePete rofl.. not saying it's all luck but there's so many people to beat.. it has to be factor to some degree.. and maybe having the time to play enough games is another factor.. but often top players in any game are pretty equal in skill level.. and if there's hundreds of them then luck could be a huge factor.. it's like poker.. lots of equally good players but you still have to be lucky.. can someone really be so much better than the top players that they can win with regular luck... i don't know.. sometimes a player outshines everyone and has something special.. sometimes it's just a bit more luck i guess.. like tiger woods and jordan were probably special.. just examples.. there are many.. curious to know what you really think though.. does anyone outshine the pack at the top that you've noticed including yourself
I think Caps goes a very long way in mitigating the luck factor in progressive.

I mean spain cap would have been pretty ok. But would end up losing anyway.
