- In this Sims 2 Lore and Stories video, we're visiting The Witches of Belladonna Cove - the Cordial Sisters. These twins have two secrets. The first is that they've made some mysterious new friends in the city and their lives are about to change forever. The second is their past, but I'll leave it up to you to decide if the rumors are true!

Evil witches do not immediately turn green when they become a witch. They start shifting towards green the more evil they become. The skintone gets reverted whenever the sim starts to use good spells.

The Sims franchise has always loved to reference themselves. I think in this case, they put a familiar dynamic from the base game and slapped the magic duality on top of it lol. They’re not meant to be Angela and Lilith, but instead meant to make you think of them
I actually have Angela and Lilith become witches when they attend uni.
I dunno if anyone’s mentioned this but the concept of good witches shimmering and evil witches turning green was actually based on the novel, The Wizard of Oz! And it could also be a subtle hint at Wicked as well because Elphaba, while she is green, actively tried to push away the evil label until circumstances force her. I just love the numerous literary references in the Sims 2!

I know everyone loves Pleasantview, but I have always played in Belladonna Cove ever since I got the Apartmentlife EP when it came out, still do. So I am always hyped when you do a video about it :) I usually don't like supernatural things, but the witches in TS2 have always been my favourite. I just love how they look and the effects they cast when they appear on community lots, also their astral cats are super cute.
Once Apartment Life came out I stopped playing regular houses altogether.
Not everyone loves Pleasantview. I always loved Strangetown more.

I think there was a fire on the lot right before while Cindy was talking. That might of been one of Sam’s fears, sending her into aspiration failure.
Between this and Plumbella's "Entire History Of..." series I'm always learning about Sims lore! I'd love to play Belladonna Cove someday.
Not even to mention, cordial and pleasant are words with meanings that compliment each other! "Cordial: showing or marked by warm and often hearty friendliness, favor, or approval." "Pleasant:
giving a sense of happy satisfaction or enjoyment. (of a person or their manner) friendly and considerate; likable." They tend to go hand-in-hand! Cordial greetings are pleasant, for instance! :)
I was just thinking this too! I think, if the Cordials are not the older version of the Pleasant twins, then Sims 2 developers are certainly still trying to draw that sort of parallel somehow. Since Apartment Life was the last ep for the Sims 2 franchise, maybe they intended to pay homage to some aspects from Pleasantview by putting some similar sims/stories on Belladona Cove.
do you ever plan on covering the downtown vampire lore in the sims 2? i always found the house of fallen trees home lot was interesting with its hidden coffin and mini graveyard! might be hard since there isn't much with the family being deceased and all ;;;

I never play with occult sims so don’t know much about them, so am loving this! There’s so many layers to this game, I never noticed how similar the sisters house is to the pleasant house. Love it cindy 🖤
Regarding the Cordial sisters and their similiarities to the Pleasant twins, I'm going to point out that "cordial" is a synonym for "pleasant".
I love Bewitched! Found out recently it was my mom’s favorite show as a kid, though she watched it in Italian. The sisters almost look like the Pleasant twins with more correct genetics (with the Pleasant sisters not having anything of their mom Mary-Sue, I actually use replacement genetics for the Pleasant twins that gives them darker hair). Though honestly Kim and Sam actually fit good and bad twin more, Lilith is just neglected and goth, and Angela in my game always hurts her first. Kim almost always ends up with Frances for me. She usually will keep the house, while Sam kinda goes any way. Last time she landed her millionaire and practices magic more as a hobby. I love setting up the secret room with furniture, and have witchy cc to add.
I love this series! It’s so fun to look back on when EA actually put effort into the game!
My headcannon is that they're alternate reality versions of the pleasant twins! It's in Belladonna cove, where Bella's presumably revered and I feel like that implies it's an alt universe where the pleasant sisters' doppelgangers grew up to be what they could have been in another life.
This brought back some interesting memories. I remember sending a witch teen to university but he was getting behind on doing his homework so I actually used the spell to stop time. I also used it with another family so they could make breakfast at a reasonable hour and have time to eat it before leaving for school. I missed having that spell since it doesn't appear in any other iteration of The Sims. :(
I loved using that spell too, and all my knowledge teens became witches, and brought thrones to uni with them to study and skill.

Belladonna cove is my favorite Sims 2 neighborhood! I am so sad i have a mac and Aspyr never ported Apartment life to the OS system. I'll legit buy a gaming computer just for the whole sims 2 collection and nothing else lol

I was able to play the ultimate collection on my laptop, but had to buy a gaming pc to be able to play Sims 3 again. Unless you like having a lot of CC, Sims 2 can run well on lower end PC's. I also had close to 100 mods in my game (but alas Sims 3 fried my laptop).
I started playing Belladonna Cove a year ago and Kimberly married Armand Debeteau in my save. They have 4 kids. I was actually just playing their save last night. She's gonna be an elder soon. Samantha already is(she married Gabriel Green). Playing rotationally takes so long, especially because I added CAS households to the mix at the same time I started the premades because I wanted variety and Belladonna Cove is the best Sims 2 town for that because its got so much space for Sims.
I always make the secret bookcase room into the *magic room* - something about secret doorways screams potion making and spell books!
Ok but one thing- if I remember correctly, sims in the Sims 2 have actuall genetical information about their original hair color (can be wrong tho). If those are really our beloved red-heads shouldn't they have red hair genes still in script?

well, "Cordial" in Spanish is synonymous with "gentle" or "Gentil". Gentil is the last name given in Spanish to the Pleasant family. I think this family is based on the Pleasant twins, but I don't think they are the same girls. Is just an awesome easter egg!

I think they’re references to the Pleasant twins, like how the Roth family is a reference to the Goth family

I really don't know why, but when i play the Cordial sisters i always make the most absolute drama go down. First up i make them *both* mess around with Armand, and Kimberly also usually has a few flings with Carlos and Chastity, while Samantha tends to gravitate towards Connor more than Gabriel, altough she did one time date Armand, Connor and Gabriel at once lol.
I also usually make a female cat in CAS that i add to their household and headcanon it's actually an aunt of theirs (also a witch) that they accidentally (or not 😏) permanently turned into a cat and moved in her house in the Cove. They're so much fun!
I like to think that the Cordial twins and the Pleasant twins are like third cousins whose families used to all live in Pleasantview. (For example, Daniel and Danny could be like second cousins since we can only see their parents on the family trees, could be both named after the same grandfather! )
And when the Cordials saw what happened with Angela and Lilith growing up and how they ended up enemies, they decided to distance themselves from the twins and start over in another town so they would not end up enemies too! The references of Pleasantview make it hard to believe there's no connection! And I think this makes sense :)

I love how TS2 set up story lines like this; to teach the players.
I am a witch irl and tend to gravitate toward witch lore in media. TS3 is the game that enticed me the most with witchcraft. Easy enough to become a witch and I love the genetics. I also like how in TS3, any sim can do alchemy but witches gain the skill faster.
I haven't played much of witchery in TS4 (though I love the spellbook!) nor have I played much in TS2...though I do like the fact that you have to learn from another witch in order to be a witch. I think what doesn't entice me is how black and white witchcraft seems to be in TS2...but now I know where to find me witches where I can TS2 and play around if the mood strikes :)
There are mods if you want to be able to skill up all the way on both sides of the spectrum, whereby you have all the spells in Sims 2. Sims 2 actually offers so many more spells than Sims 3.
I don't think they're supposed to BE the Pleasant twins, but I could definitely see the Pleasant twins growing up to live a life like theirs. It might be fun to do that in Pleasantview sometime.

Every time I’ve ever played Belladonna Cove, it always turns out that Samantha is the meaner of the two and Kimberly just minds her business; even after following their set storyline to make Samantha a good witch and Kimberly an evil witch. Samantha is always starting fights and somehow making people angry with her. Kimberly is always chill, I don’t understand it. It doesn’t matter what I do, if I start with them or not, that’s always how it goes
I never seem to see that, but I know for someone who is supposed to be shy, Samantha sure loves telling dirty jokes (perhaps the hidden popularity token messes with her psyche?).

Might be a coincidence with Pleasant sisters but in medieval Europe being a redhead was one of the traits that made people suspect an individual could be a witch
I think it’s a case of the Goths/Roth’s- just the Sims team playing with us.
When we do the witch video could we also check out the beledona cove hard to find residential lot. In the (unlikely) event you don't know what I'm talking about it's a residential lot on the very edge of beledana cove, just outside the Normal visible neighborhood called watervista palace
I only had 2 expanison packs and 2 stuff packs for the sims 2 when I was younger so I love to watch your lore videos about towns and sims I never had the chance to explore

In my opinion, their story is just reminiscent of the Pleasant sisters; If they were Angela and Liliþ who had dyed their hair black after the events of Pleasantview, the game would still know that their hair is red from a genetic point of view. I have not checked SimPE for that, but I would imagine their hair would be just black there (and thus, their children would have black rather than red hair).

Once I had Kimberly married Armand and then let her hide her "witchy" stuff in Armand's closet and locked the door. Not long after, she died from childbirth. :) But at least she gave me two cute little girls.

I thought I was really weird for loving the Sims so much... I've been playing the Simcity games since the early 90's, and later the sims as well, but the one that I still play most is Sims 2. Thank you for your guides and info, but I especially appreciate you for showing me that I'm not alone for still appreciating the early versions of those games! :) Best wishes with all of your endeavors!
