Gotham Restaurant in Greenwich Village has temporarily closed for the first time since COVID-19 after the owner was duped by cyber-thieves who stole over $45,000.

Never click on any link in a email much less put any login/password info in on the webpage that shows up. Especially if it's financial related like a bank or something to do with payment.

In addition to the one letter being off, that email is so poorly written and things are capitalized that don’t need to be. A bank or financial company would never send this email. People, be careful and don’t be afraid to offend someone by verifying if an email is legit!! Things like this don’t have to happen.

so he's gonna pay rent for a few months without opening the restaurant? doesn't that mean the store would be running at a net negative regardless whether he got scammed or not? otherwise, why wouldn't you keep the store open to make some money to try and recoup some of the losses?

Why doesn't he have reserves to cover the lost of 45k, he should at least have 250k in the bank!

I was thinking the same thing and how he looked during the interview he looks like he still living good. I'm pretty sure not his private account got robbed but the business and he the type not to use his personal money to pay his worker's just the restaurant funds 🤦🏾‍♂️
