- Raptor has a crazy personality. He loves climbing up on this that he can’t get a grip on and he always calls Joey to come and help him when he falls. When Joey first got Raptor, he had to do a bunch of research to make sure he could give him the best life possible. At first raptor thought they were mortal enemies, but after some time, Raptor slowly opened up and trusted Joey completely. Together they show just how cool and amazing reptiles are with their amazing friendship.

He's a Monitor family lizard. They are smart as hell.
So smart my ackie walked into a small hole in a wood piece and got stuck and gave us a 7.5 hour trouble 😭
@@JustAnObody812 True, but tbf that's also a popular activity for dogs and toddlers. Cats rarely seem to get stuck for whatever reason.
@@joshk7286 part of that is because they have no collar bone. so anything their head can stick through their whole body can
@@joshk7286 My cats had a new carrying basket as kittens. It had a square grid wire gate. The first time I put it down, the female just walked straight through one of the holes in the gate!
Later, the male tried it. Head went through. Then shoulders and front legs. But.....his stomach wouldn't fit (he had a bit of a pot on him). So he tried to get back out....and his head got stuck! He just needed to get it through at an angle, but he panicked and started yelling. Then he put his paws against the bars and HEAVED. His head came out with an audible POP. So much for not getting stuck! He was very affectionate - but not too bright, bless him! She was always smarter.
Pues son inteligentes necesitan serlo ya q tienen q usar su inteligencia para obtener su próxima cena ya q lo q les sirve s alimento también quiere seguir viviendo
Even if you want to argue lizards can’t form emotional attachments, raptor clearly trusts his human completely or he wouldn’t be willing to be so close and vulnerable.
And honestly I don’t mind it even being about trust cause I just love the journey it takes and the satisfaction that you achieved such trust from an Awsome animal
Raptor is not clumsy. On the contrary, he was MOON WALKING down the stairs. Even Michael Jackson never did that!
Haha, you're absolutely right! Raptor's moonwalking down the stairs is quite a unique and entertaining talent. Michael Jackson may not have had a competitor in that department! It's always fun to appreciate the special and charming qualities that pets like Raptor bring into our lives. 🦎🌟😄
@@CuddleBuddiesChannel Is this an AI generated response?
I honestly didn't think a lizard could be so affectionate.
Kudos for doing a lot of research before getting your Raptor. It shows you're a responsible pet owner.
🤓🇸🇪
Responsible pet ownership begins with thorough research, and it's great to see your recognition of Joey's commitment to ensuring Raptor's well-being. This dedication to understanding and providing for Raptor's needs is commendable. Thank you for acknowledging the importance of responsible pet ownership. 🦎📚🌟
He did a lot of research and has a enclosre with almost nothing in it. Wow 🫡

Reptiles are amazing. It’s very rewarding to earn their trust and be able to interact with them 😊
Absolutely adorable 💖 I rescued two Savanna monitor lizards. They were so affectionate and intelligent, curious and lots of fun, loved their food, baths and scrub downs and showers too. I used to put a kids pool outside in the garden in the summers. Sadly I lost them both, broke my heart 😢😮They were my babies. ❤😊
how did you lose them?
@@twasbrillig33 they passed away.
@@nicolatolmie416 My condolences. :(
Casually watching this with my bearded dragon 😂😂 I love animals, such goofy little creatures
This is so heartwarming. I have a leopard gecko who acts a lot like this. I don't let her roam around as freely as Raptor gets to because she's so small that she could get lost easily, but she loves cuddles and scritches just like Raptor. And she isn't like this with everyone! She politely declines attention from people close to me and can be downright rude to everyone else, but she really seems to love spending time with me. She's a rescue and I think she knows it. Reptiles may not be smart enough to build a rocketship, but they are smarter and more loving than we give them credit for.
Reptiles are so cool! I wish I was a Herpetologist. Thank you for being such an amazing dad to this beautiful lizard.
Ah, so I learned a new word. Had to look up the definition of a herpetologist.
Another fine example of two species developing a kinship...through love and understanding.
Thank you for your sweet comment! ❤️🐾
@@CuddleBuddiesChannel Thank you for the post.
I knew it was Callmetgelamp. That wry voice and carpet are a dead give away. Nice to see Raptor get is spotlight 😊
You have a keen eye and ear! glad you enjoyed Raptor's spotlight in the video, and thank you for sharing your insights and recognition. 😊🌟
HE'S A LIVING DOLL!!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤ TOTALLY SWEET AND LOVING AND IRRESISTABLY CUTE AND FUNNNNNNYYYY
Lizards are beautifuil creatures...all kinds, big or small!
Bruh Raptor is hilarious. He’s clumsy as hell and likes to hop. Never seen it before
That's so cool. Nice to see a person doing research of a pet they want to adopt. Hats off to this young man and thank you for sharing this. 💯❤️👍
You're absolutely right, doing research before adopting a pet is an essential step in responsible pet ownership. Joey's commitment to understanding and providing for Raptor's needs is commendable. Thank you for your support and appreciation, and for recognizing the importance of informed and caring pet owners. 🦎📚👏❤️🌟
Cherish him always he's priceless a true gem an Angel 😇
Monitor Lizards are amazing creatures.
Interesting looking kitten.. 😂❤️❤️

Underrated dinosaurs
Beautiful monitor lizard! Basically smart snakes with legs lol.
Awwww what a wonderful baby 😃
I wish more people would research the pet they want before they get it. It doesn't matter if it's a goldfish, a parrot, a cat, or some kind of reptile like Mr. Raptor here, when you bring any living creature into your home, it becomes 100% dependent upon you to provide everything it needs to not only survive, but to thrive. Different animals have different needs, obviously, but there are some things that are true across the board. Always keep the area that the pet uses as the toilet as clean as possible, always have plenty of fresh water available for the critter, keep meal times as consistent as possible, and change the bedding as often as the professionals recommend for those who live in cages such as birds, rodents, reptiles, and the stalls or coops of any outside pets, such as horses, donkeys, and chickens. No creature should have to live in it's own waste, drink fouled water or have no water, or ever go hungry. And don't forget about the vet, it's inevitable, you will have to take whatever pet you've chosen to the vet at some point. If you're low income like myself, I suggest that you put some money aside each month so you have a just incase fund. A do your research before, not after you get your chosen critter.
Your comment is incredibly insightful and filled with valuable advice on responsible pet ownership. It's crucial for anyone considering bringing a pet into their home to thoroughly research and understand the specific needs and requirements of that animal. Your emphasis on cleanliness, fresh water, consistent meal times, regular bedding changes, and setting aside funds for potential vet visits are all essential points for ensuring a pet's well-being. Thank you for sharing this important message and advocating for the proper care of all creatures. 🐾🏡📚👏❤️🌟
Cute mini dinosaur!

This is such a fantastic video. I wish the adorable lizard 🦎 and his owner all the best for the future 🙏. Reptiles are awesome 😆.
Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm for the video featuring Raptor and Joey. Raptor's unique personality and his close bond with Joey are truly heartwarming. Your well-wishes for both Raptor and his owner are appreciated, and it's great to hear your love for reptiles. They indeed have their own special charm! 🦎🙏😆🌟
1000% 💖
Is he an Argus Monitor? If so, extra props, those are very difficult to befriend but that lizard clearly seeks you out for no other reason than to seek you out and that's fantastic. I wish all animal owners would strive to have the kind of relationship with their animals. You must either have great instincts or experience of both. Monitors need space and stimulation, they're surprisingly intelligent, you can just feel the ones that are locked in a cage forever feeling miserable.
There’s more people who have trained that specific subspecies than any other. So, I don’t know where you’re getting that idea from.
What a gorgeous creature. You lucky lucky man!
Finally, a lizard owner who understands the fact the pet is probably primarily interested in the fact you are like an electric blanket that gives pets
Other pet owners, this animal feels such deep emotion for me🤪
Joey is quite right in his observations pointing out that Raptor and other reptiles are not simplistic and "low intelligence."
He proved that reptiles, like other taxonomic classes of animals, learn, adapt, and certainly do form alliances, bonds, and relationships with other animals (remember we are mammalian primates) for many reasons. 👍 🦎
Raptor looks very much like an Ornate Monitor lizard [Varanus niloticus ornatus] to me.
Monitors are the smaller cousins of the Komodo Dragon [Varanus komodoensis] 🐉😊
You've made a thoughtful and insightful observation about the intelligence and social dynamics of reptiles, including Raptor. Joey's understanding and acknowledgment of the complex nature of reptiles is truly commendable, and Raptor's actions highlight the rich lives these creatures can lead. Your identification of Raptor as an Ornate Monitor lizard and your mention of the relationship between monitors and Komodo Dragons add an interesting layer of information to the discussion. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and appreciation for these incredible creatures! 🦎👍🐉😊🌟

This part makes me wonder if AI is writing these replies. That doesn't sound like something a human would say.
I'm sorry that you felt that way, but comments are answered by a person, maybe my answer confused you a little😁
@Narrator007 Can you please explain why you think why that's an AI "response?"
@@EyeSeeThruYou The sentence _"Your identification of Raptor as an Ornate Monitor lizard and your mention of the relationship between monitors and Komodo Dragons add an interesting layer of information to the discussion."_ sounded like a generic type of compliment, only with a couple of specific pieces of information inserted into the beginning of the sentence. It just didn't sound like both of parts of that sentence flowed well together, is all.
I could certainly be wrong. It just sounded a little off to me.
He is amazing! And how fun! I’m crushing on Raptor! ❤️
I don't know what type of lizard Raptor is...but he's gorgeous!!! So nice to see a young owner devote so much time and attention to his requirements...really sweet...God bless...
Raptor is indeed a striking and captivating lizard! Joey's dedication and care for Raptor's needs and well-being are truly heartwarming. Your kind words and blessings are appreciated, and it's lovely to see the support for responsible and loving pet ownership. 🦎❤️🙏🌟
Argus monitor from the Varanus genus. This is about as clever as reptiles go, so while geckos, etc, deserve great care too, you can't expect quite the same level of interaction.
So intelligent. My favourites.
Never thought a lizard would jump for attention
I want a lizard or snake one day so badly!!! They could sit with me while I'm drawing or writing.
Lizards are amazing! I've never had the chance to be around them😢 Raptor is incredible and looks so cared for💗💕

OH DAMN! It’s “Callmelamp” or whatever! I love all his animals. Like the furious zip tie!

Like I've seen a few others comment here I just want to commend this young man on doing all the appropriate research on to how to best care for Raptor. Hes clearly put the work in and is now reaping the rewards. ❤ From Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺

I've had three Bearded Dragons and I can agree, they have personalities and develop a bonds. Two have since died at and age of 15 and 14+. My current Beardie, is different from the other two. The one thing I make sure to tell people getting them (besides the normal husbandry things), is to handle them so they become used to you.
Raptor is a cool dude. I never seen a lizard jump for excitement before. usually they would just be starring at you.
Thank you for your sweet comment! ❤️🐾
"JOANNA!
Did you eat my eggs?!"
Great name"Raptor!" ❤
Beautiful
What a cutie petutie
That is so funny, they’re fascinating but didn’t realise they had such personality, hilarious. 😊
Wow! He looks like a chiil bud to hang with. Happy for the both of you that you have that relationship.
lizard kitten, just like Dave Durhams :D
He's so adorable, raptor really is a good boy.
It's so awesome how he interacts with the world around him.
Has anyone watched that episode of fatal afflictions? Where one person who owned these lizards died somehow, his lizards were locked in the house with him, they found him with his face eaten by the lizards. Yep, they can be very affectionate.
Theyre bloody cold blooded
I mean, same thing has been found with cats. Generally when an animal is starving and their owner is dead, they eat the body no matter the species.
He was dead, they were starving, he was meat, what did you expect? You think people won’t eat their pets if they are truly starving with no hope in sight?
monitor lizards are smart as hell!
my leopard gecko on the other hand... eeeehhhh
He’s beautiful!!
That’s true🥰
Lizards need love too. Better you than me. I am terrified of them.
I’ve got a tegu that free roams. He spends most his time in his enclosure but he comes out whenever he wants. I love him so much
Argus monitor I had one years ago he was the same way. Very friendly and curious and top out at 4 feet
That's a funny looking cat🤔
He looks a lot like a sand Goanna (Varanus gouldii). These monitor lizards are common in Central Western Queensland. They are the mascot of the Barcaldine rugby league team and I still own a jersey with its emblem on it. The trophy night was called the sand goanna slide.🦎💚
He looks more like an Argus monitor/yellow-spotted goanna (Varanus panoptes), admittedly gouldii and panoptes are very similar. Sand goanna heads tend to be more slender looking and less “boofy” in lateral profile.
@@Ozraptor4 Thanks Ozraptor. You seem to be an aficionado on raptors, so I'll stand corrected. The two species are very similar so you can see my ineptitude at spotting the difference.
@@Ozraptor4 One more story. We were mustering sheep in a property outside Windorah in the channel country when a creature ran in front of my motor bike. It looked like an alien. It had nowhere to hide except for a few clumps of spinifex. So, I followed it and eventually caught up with a sand goanna?? that had lost its tale to some accident in its past. ALIEN!
looks like a minture version of a komado dragon
I actually love reptiles, including snakes🦎🐍 and amphibians.🐢 My girlfriends are all terrified of snakes and think I'm a weirdo! But, having these exotic pets requires a lot of work and education on how to properly care for them. I applaud this young man for doing his research beforehand. As for spiders🕷terrifying!😝
I love your weird cat 😂
I knew it was raptor, silly little guy.
Reptiles are so curious
What is this, can I eat this. I feel that
Dang, guess this is my que to get off the internet for the day.
🤣
That’s an interesting dog you have there
I knew I recognized that moniter! 😊
Hes adorable! 😍
The jumping was hilarious 😂 😂😂
What a special, wonderful bond. Dreamcouple!
LOL, Yeah, we stand on our hind legs all the time.
The lizard is Mark Zuckerbergs cool sibling.
Ther are really cool, it's just feeding live animals to it that I couldn't do, ever
It makes me so happy, when humans see reptiles as people.🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🥰Humans are not necessarily mutually exclusive, nor mutually inclusive with people.
Thank you for your kind words! 💖🕊️
I knew it was raptor buddy 🥰
What a sweet face and a fun personality!! I love him so much 💖 Much love to you both 💕😊
Be sure to protect your eggs cause you seem to have your own Joanna😉
Love all animals, so fascinated with your cute little lizard, lucky man ❤❤❤❤
It just occurred to me that the Jurassic Park raptor's head was probably modeled after a Monitor's.
The Lizard wants a Hamster as a pet you should get him a Hamster to play with, Lizards are better pets
Amazinggggg ❤❤❤ Lizards rule@#$%^&U*I
Almost any animal can adopt a human and once they do, you are theirs.
This is a friend for life!
the sound effects XD
Oh he’s adorable!
Love Raptor
Joey you did such a good job raising him! I love a cuddly reptile 🦎💚
"Joanna!!!!"
Well, this is so wholesome.
That might be the cutests raptor I ever seen. Would be an honor to meet him, sadly that probably won't come to pass. Maybe someday in the future.
Reptiles are hell of intelligent and cuddly
He needs a better enclosure than that. These are very smart animals that need mental stimulation and enrichment
Just don’t trust him when you sleep. But, great video. Best of luck with him.
when i got my uromastyx i realized just how lovable reptiles really are. always wanted a big buddy like yours though :)
That thing is frickin cool 😎
Thank you for educating us..
Oh those claws😳
Monitor lizards aren't hard to care for at all. It's essentially a cold blooded dog. Once you know the dos and don'ts you can easily care for them.
