Was laughing so hard at the Ranger loop...seeing the guys get so frustrated trying to figure out the puzzle was hilarious!
Reminds me a game I had long ago, when we just had murders and murders and always the same taverner around when we found the bodies, and ended up almost getting killed venturing inside the nearby forest which our DM completely had to improvize about, searching for imaginary tracks or clues.
Took us "only" four murders to figure it out.

I just realised that this whole ranger story would not have been possible with the Ladies because they would immediately have decided that this is probably just a small misunderstanding between the bullywugs and the wolves and that they just needed to bring them together and let everybody have a nice cup of tea and some scones and talk it all out, and all would be friends again and what Guardian of the Forest could ever have wanted to block that?
Rob having a dialogue with himself was gold. How to ensure the plot moves? Do it yourself!
As a DM who had to do this recently, boy it's a lot of work. But sometimes it's exactly what has to be done, lol

_A couple days after this incident, as Master Laethil is spying the land, he sees a lone figure walking on the dirt road, a stupid grin on his face. He recognizes that face, one of the individuals that was with the accursed Baradun. The others are nowhere to be seen, in fact, the road is empty of all other life. He conjures up a portal, intent on capturing and torturing out the location of the other loose ends out of the simpleton, and steps through_
and then Baelin the fisherman kicks the shit out of Laethil and becomes the high sorcerer instead
That plot twist was actually great, Just that barlin wasn't with them.

"Greg" is easily my favorite character in these. I so enjoy his high pitch voice and how into these games he gets. I really want this to be a constant series.

@@thatschmim its a wonderful game. If you have any friends who are great storytellers then they'd make decent gm's. Take a good group of friends to play. If you dont like the group you're with you are not obligated to stay. Strange stuff happens. And you find out which of your friends are psychos or have weird inner tendencies. Some say its group therapy with math and storytelling.

All 4 are to some degree. Bodger and Bob are just to a lesser a degree. I don't think Bodger and Bob realize it's a game, though.

I was expecting the customer to come pester him when they ended up back in Honeywood. I don't think he's selling that helmet at this point...
Was thinking of this as well.
The customer has also been drunk in the tavern and lost track of several days....
They don't get back until after dark. The customer was probably hanging out all day and then had to go to his tournament without the helmet.

The fact they do the meta-D&D stuff in-game as well and the in-game characters react to that with "11? what does that even mean?" is so on point with the whole Epic NPC Man -lore that I love that the GM didn't try to stifle it at all and actually played a lot to it!
The old, animated D&D series used to have a recurring, annoying line from the company's magic user, "But, I'm only a level one wizard!" As if the character would know that about themselves....

I literally got into D&D because of these videos just bought the starter and essentials set
I recommend a quick trip over to d&dbeyond.com brother. Character creation is a snap there, the sheets are very easy to use during games, and the source pages they have make finding rules and judgements fairly painless. Enjoy brother.

This one episode reminds me of the time I played D&D and my friends almost immediately decided to go skinny dipping.
One time our party came across a powerful elven sorcerer. We had no idea what to do, so my warrior and my friend's ranger started dancing tango. He didn't kill us, so it must have worked.
I'm just glad, that other people use dance as a distraction as well.

There's an approach I thought about through much of this episode. If you haven't already recorded the next episode, you might consider this.
When you talk with the new alpha wolf, I suggest you say, "The only reason we're here is because the Bullywug king stole our stuff as well as the stuff of other people in Honeywood. The king said if we killed you guys, they'd give it back. Personally, we're fine with you guys. It's the Bullywugs who are the thieves and schemers. They also happen to want all of you dead. Even if you kill all of us, other people will try to get their stuff back from the Bullywugs, and they'll send those people to kill you. And more. And more. And more. Wolves will die, which will bad for your pack and reflect poorly on your new leadership. However, if you help us kill the Bullywugs and get our stuff back, you won't have any more groups of adventurers attacking you. In fact, we'll tell people that you are reasonable wolves, not wild beasts. This will go well for both your pack and your leadership."
As I recall, after given terms by the Bullywug king, one of you four suggested you attack the Bullywugs then and there, but your group realized they were too strong. I expect with the wolves help, you can kill them all. Also, if you get rid of the Bullywugs, you won't have to worry about them stealing your stuff in the future and sending you off as their hit squad again and again.
What do you think?
I reckon that could be a very smart, reasonable approach. We have filmed the next 10 episodes or so... so have a guess whether this group of players took such a well measured and diplomatic approach.
