    Beautiful Build. Im gonna get one because of your build. Inspiring how you made a usually “boring” looking bike into something awesome.

    I know I'm late; you probably don't even have this bike anymore, but I have to say that I _like_ the wide bars and bar end mirrors on this bike. They are major accents of just how narrow the bike is-- like visual highlights for the knife-edge thinness of the rest of the build. It's like you accidentally found the perfect way to show off your results.

    What a cool build, it almost looks like a trials bike, I like it 👍🏆.

    Try static balancing the tires. Harbor freight sells a balancer, works good. Fork oil is probably factory and needs to be changed. As for the exhaust wrap. You should soak it in water b4 wrapping it. Less dust and tightens as it dries. Try adding a click to the rear shocks may help handling also. 25 psi seams really low. Like the build and glad it's turning out well for ya. I got some great info and ideas for my continued build. Thanks, keep up the good work.

    try mounting the rear mud guard to the swing arm and it will move with the tire.

    • @FridaysTheBomb
      @FridaysTheBomb  Před 2 lety

      I opted not to do that, because I didn't want to weld or drill the swing arm.

  • @67MercuryXR7
    @67MercuryXR7 Před 3 lety

    Yeah, the CV carbs are hard to dial in without an air box, as they are designed to operate with one, which is why after I opened up my XR box, I ended up closing it back up again. I’ll open it up again if I ever get a normal carb. (The benefit of CV carbs are that they do work better in altitude changes)

    • @FridaysTheBomb

    Very cool bike! I've been watching this from the beginning and had concerns with the look but now that it's come coming together I really dig it. Might be a stupid question but about the mirrors, is there any way to tilt them straight down to get a narrowed look? May square off the top end a bit more. Just a thought. unfortunately, i just bought a 2008 klr 650 and a 1990 vmax so i’ve got my hands full with things to replace and maintain. 2008-2009 klr650 have a recall for the wiring harness it rubs against the frame in certain areas and cuts through the wires causing a short in the system.

    Nice looking bike. Couple points: the rear fender will never look right unless its arc is concentric with the rear wheel and it's painted, your bars are too wide, the tyres are probably the culprit for the 50 mph weave, and I agree, the exhausts are too loud and somehow desperate sounding. Paint the tank red and put a proper Honda badge on it.

    • @Tanner_Snowdy
      @Tanner_Snowdy Před 3 lety

      I think the reduced rear weight and added forward weight because of how the tank is mounted would contribute to instability at high speeds.

    • @silkcustoms520

      If he listened to you, he would gets rocks thrown at him. Your 1st mistake, paint the tank Red.

  • @geraldscott4302
    @geraldscott4302 Před 3 lety

    Shorten the handlebars. I would have never wrapped the exhaust, and I would have used chrome mufflers. It needs chrome and bright paint, so it isn't a YABOB (Yet Another Blacked Out Bike) That fad is so ridiculous. NOTHING looks worse on a bike than matte black paint. I would paint the tank and fender a bright, not too dark color. Make it stand out. That rear fender looks like a dirt bike fender. Maybe you could use a BCB swing arm mounted fender? You think that exhaust is loud? You should hear the exhaust on my '06 (carbureted) 1200 Sportster. It rattles windows. Those are pretty much the same as BCB sells. Doesn't sound loud to me. A motorcycle should sound like a motorcycle. The sound is one of the wonderful aspects of an internal combustion engine. You don't want somebody to think it is battery powered. Are those BCB handlebar mounts? I have a complete BCB drag bar kit and forward controls kit on a stock Rebel. The Rebel is physically too small for me, I wound up sitting between the front and rear seat. The drag bars and forward controls moved me 4" forward on the bike, so I can sit in the middle of the front seat. Maybe the front wheel is out of balance?

  • @hectorvelandia3782

      The nice thing about designing this type of stuff, is that the public opinion is inherently democratic.
