I kinda agree with Skip on this one and Kawhi is one of my favorite players. There is a degree of skill involved shooting a high arc rainbow shot off balance and contested, but Kawhi didn't shoot it well. He was way short and in that fact it was the luckiest NBA shot in playoff history. He shot the ball short and the ball had a historic bounce. It's the same with Curry shooting half court shots, he can make those and he even practises those but every time those shot fall there is a degree of luck to it and this shot had luck all written over it. From the moment the ball was halfway I already saw it being short and Raptors losing the game. I think it is pretty much as lucky as one hitting a bank shot totally miss shooting it.

Maybe from behind the half court line but he just did a routine follow through, he prob wasn’t able to get a lot of jump under the ball to swish it, so he got the bounce to make the ball spin towards over the rim, that’s all follow through, thats all skill.

That was no luck the shot went in because of the way he released the ball he was shooting it over a big Joel Embid so the extra arch is what made it bounce the way it did and go in pretty normal at 5 foot 4 inches I was trained myself to shoot like that at 17 years old and even when the ball didn't hit nothing but net the ball would still go in because of the soft shot Leonard even said it himself he had to shoot it high to get it over Embid so that was pure greatness.

It took so much skill to shoot over Embiid, but the lucky bounce was something we may never see again. That's why this debate is stupid; enjoyable but stupid. I was pulling for the 76ers, but that shot hyped me up so damn much.
