    Very useful info here! Thank you 🙏
    I plan to install to metal soon, I have looked at it via a live session and was very impressed, only two issues showed up, 1: sound from speakers was controlled with my headphone that is USB, the speakers are on a 3.5 jack in separate channels, strange!
    2: Pcie wifi card not detected.
    Once a full install is done these things might sort themselves out, will have to hook up a Lan cable to the modem for the install to get drivers and hopefully all will be good! 😉👍🏼

    Hey Alu I have a confusion - Garuda Linux does an auto snapshot itself when updating the system ( take example v1 updated to v1.5) ,in grub menu there is the old backup(v1) to restore. when I select the old backup (v1) there are 2 file a normal and a normal ending with Linux-fallback , now my confusing is which one to select to restore back to v1

    Been using Garuda Cinnamon for over a year. I have downloaded the newest versions of Cinnamon, Dr460nized and XFCE 231029 to install on new HDD. When I installed Garuda before I had no problems, considering I am a Newbie. I Installed OS, updated OS, then Garuda Assistant to install all packages on OS.
    When I install any of the (3) 231029 OS’s it installs okay but will not UPDATE, always error (can not resolve dependencies) then going to the Garuda Assistant is out of the question.
    Any help is appreciated. Is Fastboot & Secure Boot turned on or off in this procedure. I thought I’d done with & without but no change, no UPDATE completed.

    Heya, I am running into two issues with Garuda, and I am a first time Linux user. The first is that I have a 7.1 DAC hooked up to some headphones and speakers (3.5mm) and it's connected to the PC via USB. In Windows, this works plug and play. In Linux, it does not. I am not able to get any sound out of my speakers, and the 7.1 is not detected (only detected as Mono). The DAC is the Sennheiser GSX 1000. The second issue I have is that when I start OBS (I stream) it tells me that no video devices are configured and I need to install my video driver (I have an nVidia GeForce RTX 3080). Any help here would be very much appreciated.

    • @UNSCPILOT
      @UNSCPILOT Před 2 lety +1

      Sennheiser likely doesn't make any drivers for linux, which forces Linux to use it in the most basic mode, might be worth trying to hunt down some community made programs or drivers that could potentially get it running.
      I have a Asus USB DAC that at least warns me to switch it to USB 2.0 mode for Linux systems and that most of the higher functionality will be unavailable... heck I need to take my own advice and look around some too

    Yesterday I tried to install it. The initial installation went very well; but when updating software and repositories, it gives errors. You cannot update some keys. With the Pamac it is impossible to install new software; neither from the graphical assistant nor from the console. Today I downloaded a new version (the old one was only one month old). Some windows were blocked. I will try from zero again, to see if this time it works. It's a shame, because visually it is impressive; and it shows very well that they have made the most of the memory use of the machine. On the same computer I had the latest version of Linux Mint, which works perfectly, but is slower in terms of resource use. I'm not an in-depth Linux expert, but I've been working with Mint for 4 years, and I'm doing quite well.
