The problem is with movies that are about climate change have to use metaphors or go OTT because if they made them with actual climate change in mind it would be a groundhog style movie where some guy keeps saying how an area will be underwater in 20 years and its our last chance to stop it.
Every 20 years he would come back and say another 20 years and its definitely our last chance...
Before eventually being buried in the same ground he said would be underwater.

What we know about Socrates, we know thanks to one of his 'students' Plato.
The ideas from one of the greatest minds have been distilled through the brain of another important 'thinker' of our species.
Socrates is famous for encouraging people to doubt everything and everybody - even themselves.
'The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing!'
One of the reasons why he was killed.
Language is nothing but made up sounds and signs.
Words have a meaning because we give them a meaning, ideas have power because we allow them to have power.
It's true our species is superior in certain fields, but we aren't worth more than all the other Earthlings.
At the end, we are nothing but cells, part of a bigger organism ... simply experiencing itself.

But I think the film is way more deeper than that, because it also has the message about what matter most and I got a sense that it is the people around us, our relationships and the animals who share this world with us, that's what matter most. And just being conscious about that, because one day this world is going to turn into shit and we just have to take a moment and appreciate that beauty as long as we are still here because is not going to last forever. In 80s and 90s, some celebrities and global mainstream used to focus on world peace, pollution, population control, environment and such. That helped a generation realize that world sources are limited and we should focus on our environment. Although there were so many subjects to force governments and companies to use clean technologies and energy sources to protect nature, nothing worked and the majority still kept going on their destructive lifestyle. However, some people got evolved and deeply concerned about it.
However, in the last 20 years, there’s almost no global organization that is promoted by the mainstream media and reach billions of people. Instead of that, people got social media. Started consuming and demanding more and more. As a result, to see a totally natural area is almost impossible today. Even in a country like Turkey, every way you look around you see a mine, a factory, buildings, highways and such.
It’s disturbing that majority still don’t realize that our lives depend on the nature. This makes me angry and most of the times sad. Yeah, the movie made me cry too 😢

The temperatures jumped to 50 Celsius which has never been experienced in history. Professor Brian Cox is absolutely brilliant. I have read several of his books. The "Wonders' books are favorites. He makes science interesting and easy to understand for average shmucks, like myself.

that "destruction of meaning in this universe" concept is what made me cry at the end of the movie. It's just heartbreaking that humanity and its intelligence will just disappear in a snap.

If that kind of destruction of earth did happen, it would mean the end of humanity which means no more suffering, stupidity and savagery. I see that as a good thing.
