504 carb to EFI?

- This 504 once ran on a carburettor. It's now running on Voltarent EFI system. This system uses Voltarent ECU that controls fuel injection and ignition in the engine thus able to define fuel economy and performance. Voltarent ECU has 4 drive modes (Eco+, Economy, Comfort, Sport) that give the driver/owner the freedom to define how the engine will respond at any one time.

My question is not in relation to the 504, can it system work as a standalone ECu or DME on car that has a faulty ECU or DME? E.g BMW system
Which BMW? The modern BMWs have a lot of communication protocols with other systems that would be hard to emulate. Yes, the ECU is a standalone and can tuned to run almost any engine.
