Actually the explosion is the tire tearing itself apart at probably 110 psi or more. The force from an exploding tire can put a nearly 90 deg bend in an aluminum rim. He's using rim brakes on carbon wheels. He probably rode the brakes down a long hill and overheated the rims. Pop! I admire his positive attitude tho. Probably a fun guy to ride with.
I used 23mm Vredestein clinchers for years at 120psi--never had one "pop" lol. Should of gotten a MAVIC open Pro hand-built wheel...sadly 99% of today's cyclists have NO idea what I'm talking about LOL
