- This session reviewed and analyzed the role Congress & the Executive have played vis-a-vis Israel and Palestine in general, and Gaza in particular, both before and since 10/7/23.
Panelists: Josh Paul (former official at the U.S. Department of State), Zaha Hassan (Carnegie Endowment for International Peace), Tess McEnery (Middle East Democracy Center)
That was nothing short of GREAT. Thank you. I will search out more from your panelists.
Brilliant analysis.Thanks everybody. Learning lots!
Most Sincerely Michael Foley 😂
This was a REALLY eye-opening SYSTEMIC analysis of how central to US power the Palestine question has become.
There are three misrepresentations in the introduction:
1. It is not the “Gaza Catastrophe”. It is Genocide and Societicide
2. It is not the “Israel/Palestine conflict”. It is Jewish immigrant settler colonialism
and the Zionist colonialist project to ethnically cleanse Palestine versus
an anti-colonialist struggle by the native population
3. October 7th has been mischaracterised as “massacres”. October 7th was
a series of military operations against 8 Israeli military bases. In the confusion
and panic the Israeli military killed a lot of Israeli civilians and military personnel.
There was the ‘Hannibal Directive’: the killing of Israelis by Israelis to ensure
they are not taken hostage to be used for bargaining later on.
TRUE. This is the evidence of an APARTHEID MINDSET.
Enjoyed this one a lot more than Session 1 👏 Excellent panel ✊
What was lacking in the 1st session &/or what did you disagree with?
Abandon Biden and dumb Trump I suggest we all throw our support towards third party Jill Stein or Cornell West and finally end the uniparty
*I got quite lost listening to Zaha Hassan and I had to stop listening as I was failing to learn what the United States stands for.*
