When I'm in a manic state, I tend to get very over organized to the point where if one thing is off, the whole thing has to start over. In middle school when we switched to pens, it was torture for me. I couldn't erase my mistakes so I had to start over from scratch every time. The amount of school work I failed because I couldn't skip over a question to go on to the next. I was called uptight a lot when really I just had to stick to the plan. Tell you what though, it helped a lot with remembering numbers 😅 Nowadays I make it a point to be a little messy here and there and get a little chaotic sometimes. Gotta learn to manage however you can, and I guess when Emma finally settled with Will, a lot of her mania resolved a bit.
I have to wonder if Emma ever secretly did things like overshare in this scene because she knew it would get them off the hook from further lecture and such. she is a psych major after all. Lol.

As a former teacher, I have to say that all faculty bathrooms DO lock. In fact, many lock automatically so you can’t open the door unless you have the key. As a mother with three biological children, ovulation windows last for at least a day, so they could have waited. But this is Glee, so reality is not important I guess
OCD isn’t about cleanliness, it’s more about performing a ritual to quell anxiety. Emma was clearly germaphobic, and excessive cleaning was her way of dealing with it. With that said, no, literally no amount of therapy can get her to ditch the cleaning in this situation 😂
